Notre Dame basketball took on a new face this season, the face of a winner. For the first time in three years the Irish sent a team to the State Tournament. Under head coach Bill Hogan and assistant Dennis Morris, the Irish posted an improved 13 win, 9 loss record and finished the season ninth in the District ratings. The highlight of the season was Notre Dame's victory in the first Irish Invitational Chris.tmas Tournament. Team Co-Captain Norm Cook was chosen most valuable player of the Tournament and John Coursen earned a berth on the all-tournament team. Coming off the bench at the right moments were seniors Kurt Ebrahim, John Logan, and Jerry DiCola and juniors Gerry Goeke and Bob Bottoni. Cook and Coursen also received AllCounty honors and co-captain Mike Franko received an honorable mention. As for the underclassmen, Coach Bill Panella's J.V.'s posted a 10 win, 11 loss record while Dave Milinowicz's Frosh finished with an 8 win, 13 loss log.
