Introduction Marco Polo was famous for going to China for 24 years. He was born in Venice, Italy on 1254. He was born in a wealthy family of merchants in the citystate of Venice. He died in January 9th, 1324.

Why did he start his journey? Marco Polo had gone on his journey because he wanted to go to China like his father Niccolo and his uncle Maffeo. Also, he wanted to see the things that his father and uncle saw.

When did he start his journey? Marco Polo started his journey when he was 17 years old to China.

What happened during his journey and where did he go? To go to China Marco Polo went through the Silk Road with his father and uncle. He started his exploration in 1271 and returned in 1295 which is 24 years. Kublai khan, the Mongolian emperor honored him by asking him to be an ambassador for him.
