WELCOME
As we move into Autumn 2025, we are excited to present our latest Sire Directory, showcasing a diverse and elite selection of sires tailored to enhance your breeding programs. Our commitment remains steadfast: to provide genetics that thrive in the Australian environment and add value across the entire supply chain.

The Australian cattle industry is set for significant growth, with beef production projected to reach record levels in 2025. This expansion is driven by a mature national herd and robust international demand, particularly from markets like America, where cattle numbers have declined to their lowest point in 72 years. Domestically, southern weaner sales have started strong, with rising producer confidence and MLA projects that the national cow herd will rise by 6% this year, despite seasonal challenges across southern parts of the country. Additionally, the lifting of bans on more abattoirs by China has increased market access, signalling further opportunities for Australian beef producers.
Kicking off the year with strength, four new bulls join the stable. Leading the pack is Basin Keystone 2021 , the 2024 American semen sales leader, combining volume, maternal power, and structural excellence, from an elite proven cow. Joining him is another Basin standout, Basin True Value 3017 , excelling in calving ease, growth, and balanced data, he’s structurally sound and highly versatile for any job. LT Clarion 9054 stands out with flawless structure, an impressive muscle pattern, and destined for producing standout daughters with exceptional udders. Finally, Cluden Newry Uppercut U15 , Australia’s new star, redefines phenotype and genotype, offering a powerful data profile with exceptional shape and overall soundness.
The future holds significant potential, but realising it will require embracing technology, sustainability, and a continued focus on delivering superior outcomes for our clients. Our sires, shaped by global insights and experiences, are prepared to address the constant evolving demands of Australian beef production. As we enter the Autumn 2025 season, our mission remains clear:

ABOUT US

At Breeder Genetics, we personally inspect all bulls we market , travelling to research the herds and female lines they originate from. MATURE BODY COMPOSITION
Each year, Angus Australia advances the genetic evaluation by updating the TransTasman Angus Cattle Evaluation (TACE). For 2024, this includes the addition of two new traits: Mature Cow Height (MCH) and Mature Cow Body Condition (MBC). Previously categorised as research breeding values, these traits are now full Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). The heritability of these traits is 0.51 for MCH, 0.21 for MBC, and 0.43 for Mature Cow Weight (MCW), demonstrating that genetic selection can drive meaningful change.
Importantly, these three traits are genetically correlated. MCW is highly correlated with both MCH (0.83) and MBC (0.87), while MCH and MBC have a weak correlation of 0.21. This means that cows can achieve similar weights through different combinations of height and body condition. This is especially important when selecting sires, as it highlights the need to look beyond weight alone and consider the balance between frame size and body condition.
Historically, carcass Rib & Rump Fat EBVs have long been used as a proxy for selecting softer, easier-fleshing females with additional fat cover. MBC EBVs now provide a trait specifically designed for this selection pressure. The correlation between MBC and carcass Rib & Rump Fat EBVs is weak, at 0.3 and 0.19 respectively, indicating that while there is some genetic relationship, these traits uniquely describe different aspects of fat composition. If your breeding objective is to influence the body condition score of mature females, the MBC EBV is the most direct and effective tool for driving that change.
