- Sixth Form pupil These qualifications provide a broad introduction to the Performing Arts sector and give you the opportunity to demonstrate increased skill levels. You will develop the necessary transferable and sector skills to progress more quickly. The qualifications prepare you for progression to Level 2 BTECs or other study programmes.

How is the course structured and graded? The Certificate is made up of five units in total; two core and three optional, whilst the Diploma is made up of 10 units; four core and six optional. The core units are generic in nature and teach you the transferrable skills that you will need in all subject areas, such as being organised or researching a topic. Where possible, units are linked together to form one assignment rather than completing five or ten separate units.

Will this course be suitable for me? To be successful on this course, for musicians it is helpful if you are learning at least one musical instrument at Grade 2 level and are able to identify notes on the treble clef stave. For actors you must be confident performing in front of a live audience and prepared to learn lines.

What could this course lead to? On completion of this course you will have the correct knowledge and experience to undertake a Level 2 course in Performing Arts or specialise in a GCSE in your chosen field. This course will suitable if you wish to learn more about the Performing Arts Industry
