1. VISIT BREAKAWAYTOURS.COM Go to www.breakawaytours.com and click ‘Book Now’ to enter your Trip Code. Your group organizer will provide you with the Trip Code. Once you’ve entered your Trip Code, you will be directed to a page with all your trip information such as accommodation, insurance, inclusions, and program cost.

2. REVIEW TRIP DETAILS Review your trip details to ensure you’re booked on the right trip. Check out pictures, videos, and past traveller stories to get a full understanding of what our awesome trips are really like! Transportation details will be provided soon after you’ve made your final payment. Click ‘Sign-Up’ to begin reserving your spot.

3. FILLING OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION All personal information details will be filled out using this online portal. A parent and/or guardian will also need to provide their information including an emergency contact phone number. If you have any medical conditions, please make sure to list them.

4. ROOMING & INSURANCE Request to change rooms can be made prior to your final payment. Once the final payment date has passed, room occupancy cannot be altered. Passengers also have the option to purchase travel insurance to cover trip cancellation and interruption, and/or emergency medical coverage.

TRAVELLER GUIDELINES

Our Breakaway Tours leaders come from all across North America and include teachers, travel professionals, counselors, university students, and more. Our leaders purpose is to create safe and fun travel experiences for our travellers. Their role is focused around facilitating & supporting all of our on-site programming throughout the travel experience & setting/ maintaining boundaries for our travellers. All Breakaway Tours leaders receive comprehensive training as well as background checks prior to joining our team to ensure the safety of our travellers.

Safety is our #1 priority for our travellers.

The Breakaway Tours Traveller Guidelines, are a set of principles to ensure safety and encourage proper conduct for our travellers during their trip. The Breakaway Tours Traveller Guidelines can be viewed at breakawaytours.com/forms and must be signed by both student and parent/guardian prior to departure.

THE FINE

PRINT AFFORDABLE DEPOSIT

TRIP DOLLARS

You can book now with an affordable deposit of $75. The deposit is due before the deadline set by your organizers. It is paid online at the time of booking. Your deposit will secure your spot on the trip. If you purchase the additional travel insurance, the cost will be added to your deposit at the time of booking.

What you need to know about Trip Dollars:

EASY MONTHLY PAYMENTS We’ve made paying for your trip easy with a monthly payment plan after your deposit. 60 days before departure you will pay the final balance.

CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that travel plans change and sometimes need to be delayed. That’s why we allow you to cancel for any reason until 90 days before your trip departs. You will receive Trip Dollars for any amount that you have paid minus the $75 deposit and the cost of insurance.

You can use your Trip Dollars for any future trip with Breakaway Tours. Within 90 days of departure your trip is fully non-refundable.

FAQ’S HOW DOES BREAKAWAY TOURS ENSURE STUDENT SAFETY? Your safety is our highest priority. All of our Breakaway leaders receive comprehensive training. On destination, trip leaders will oversee all Breakaway Tours designated activities and events, while still enabling you to have a great and memorable time.

Travellers are also responsible for signing-in daily with a Breakaway leader. We also offer a 24/7 emergency support number for parents and guardians. While Breakaway leaders will be available during designated hours, they do not oversee each traveller at all times.

It is important to act safe and responsible when travelling.

WHO ARE THE BREAKAWAY TOURS LEADERS? Our leaders come from a wide and eclectic background that includes high school teachers, counselors, travel professionals and sports and entertainment professionals. Trip leaders are there for support and guidance if needed.

DO I GET TO CHOOSE MY ROOMMATES? Yes, you can choose your preferred roommates when you submit your reservation form for online booking. If you don’t know right away, your trip organizer will ask you at a later date to make your roommate selection. Please review your invoice to see who your assigned roommates are and notify us immediately if there are any errors.

WHAT IS THE AGE OF MAJORITY? In the provinces of Québec, Manitoba, and Alberta the age of majority is 18. In all other provinces in Canada the age of majority is 19. The Breakaway Tours Traveller Guidelines, signed by all students, also outlines alcohol use and consequences for abuse such as reduction in privileges or removal from the trip.

WHAT WILL THE TRAVEL DAY BE LIKE? On the day of departure, you’ll come to the bus departure meeting point, where you’ll meet your Breakaway leader. They will make sure everyone is on the bus, and communicate with the bus driver on when to depart. Breakaway leaders will also help with the check-in process upon arrival. Once at the hotel, you will be given a briefing speech to go over expectations of behavior, and a run down of the program itinerary. This is your chance to ask questions, review safety procedures, and get yourself familiar with your hotel. Once that is wrapped up you’re free to explore!

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY? In the unlikely event of an emergency, our first priority is ensuring the traveller receives immediate medical attention. Once the situation has stabilized, the parents or guardian will be contacted. One of the Breakaway leaders will remain with the traveller until they are released from medical care.

WHAT IF I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES OR SPECIAL MEAL REQUIREMENTS? In your online profile there will be a medical condition section where you should list all allergies or dietary requirements. While it is your responsibility to be aware of your condition and act accordingly, our trip leaders will be on hand to offer assistance as needed.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO TRAVEL? For Canadian passengers, please bring along your Canadian driver’s license as your main form of identification. Please also bring along your health card in the event of an emergency. Please note it is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain all necessary travel documents.
