Opening ceremony remembers their sacrifice; welcomes veterans home

By David Stoltz The traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall served as a fitting backdrop Thursday morning as Veterans Week began in Branson with the opening ceremony at Welk Resort Center. Guest speaker and Vietnam veteran Bob Sarver, public relations director for Branson Veterans of America 913, noted that the wall’s 58,000-plus names inscribed in stone carry many personal stories. “But we will never hear them,” he said. “They are all heroes in my mind, and I salute each and every one of them.” Then Sarver brought the Vietnam War experience home for those in attendance by citing these CEREMONY, PAGE 10
