Due to the increase demand from the pharmaceutical, food, and beverage industries, the API and speciality chemical industry are poised to grow in the coming years Furthermore, the government initiatives to promote the sector have accelerated itsgrowth.

According to a recent report by the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), the Indian API market is expected to grow from USD 2.5 billion in 2021 to USD 4.5 billion by 2026, with the market is also expected to grow at a CAGR of 10% over the same period.

Boost in demand from the pharmaceutical industry

With India being one of the major producers of pharmaceuticals in the world, the demand for pharmaceuticals from domestic and international markets is driving the desire for APIs and specialitychemicals.

The Indian government's newly launched initiative's such as Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for bulk drugs and pharmaceutical intermediates, and the National Programme on Advanced Chemistryand Catalysis (NPACC) has boosted theAPI andspecialitychemicalsindustry
