What is Mamagoto?

Mamagoto literally means “to play with food’; a Japanese social experiments of sorts, involving infants to use their senses and understand the textures and shapes of food. Born out of this came our concept - to make asian eating fun. To make it experimental and social. To create a relaxed and casual atmosphere where affordable and authentic food & drinks are combined with a brightly coloured and cheerful interior, with Japanese artefacts and aesthetics.

Mamagoto’s food is a blend of inspiration from Asian street hawkers, extensive travels and endless experimentation in our kitchens. In addition, a sizeable range of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are made from fresh juices and ingredients at a great value.

Rahul Khanna

Mr. Kabir Suri, co-founder and director of Azure Hospitality holds a degree in Economics and Business Management from Wheaton College, Massachusetts, USA.

Mr. Rahul Khanna is a student of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Hospitality Management. Having worked with Mandarin Oriental and Jumeirah groups in London, Hong Kong and Dubai respectively, he has expert knowledge on the conceptualising of design oriented food and beverage outlets as well as being responsible for special events and training of operational staff in different capacities.He founded Slang – a lifestyle concept company in 2006 upon feeling the need to provide a fresh paradigm to lifestyle and hospitality in India.

His professional career began in commercial real estate finance with North Fork Bank in New York followed by Argent Fund Management in London as an analyst. His role required him to assist in providing investment strategies and in-depth research focussing on the hospitality segment.

Kabir’s personal interests in the hospitality segment led him to the hospitality sector where he spent 3 years with international award winning restaurants Zuma and Roka. Initially involved with operations, he then shifted to business development, spearheading global expansion and brand development.

He is currently the Managing Director of Azure Hospitality. which owns and manages brands such as Mamagoto, Dhaba by Claridges, Speedy Chow, Rollmaal, Mamapaati and Celeste Food Services.

He is also involved in projects, which include Below8, a restaurant and bar in Gurgaon, the stage, an events management and graphic design house, as well as a food and beverage consultancy.

With his current capacity as Managing Director, Azure Hospitality he has played an intrinsic part in developing and managing brands like Mamagoto, Dhaba by Claridges, Speedy Chow, Rollmaal, Mamapaati and Celeste Food Services.
