and provided information to the officials to assist in identifying the body. According to Harris, the body of Sarah Ortiz was positively identified on Monday, July 21 by forensics in Huntsville. The official cause of death was not released at press time as the investigation in the case is ongoing.

Authorities said they are continuing to look at the circumstances and timeline from when Ortiz left Hammondville until she was last seen in Leesburg. Anyone with any info about this case should call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 256-8453801 and speak with Investigator Craig White or Commander Wade Hill.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a runaway that left home on Sunday July 20. Stephanie Nicole Hamilton, age 15, was seen leaving the Grove Oak area in a Black Jeep Cherokee with two white females. There have been several sightings reported near Fyffe and Geraldine but it appears Stephanie is always gone when officers arrive. The last report of Stephanie to the Sheriff’s office was in Fyffe on Tuesday, July 22. Hamilton is 4’8” tall, 105 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.
