According to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, a Marshall County man is in jail after he was observed in a stolen vehicle in Collinsville. Calvin Tyrone Mostiller, 40 of Guntersville, was observed driving a silver Honda Passenger car which fit the description of a car an escaped inmate from Etowah County was last seen in. Mostiller failed to stop for the deputies until he was forced into a dead end

road a short time later. Mostiller was jailed on outstanding warrants and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.

transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they await bond. Drug Task Force agents and DHR workers were called to the home due to the presence of small children and other people. The children were removed and placed with a family member. “All of these arrests were made possible due to citizens being observant in their communities. This information was passed on to patrol and Drug Task Force agents and they were successful in locating the drugs,” said Harris.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources recently announced that the new “Freshwater Fishing” distinctive license plate is available through county probate offices. This license plate depicts a largemouth bass, the state’s official freshwater fish, and has up to six spaces for optional personalization. It will replace the “Take a Kid Fishing” license plate, which has been in production since 2006. The cost for the new license plate will be $50 annually. Proceeds from the sale of the license plate will support habitat enhancement, aquatic wildlife species protection and restoration, aquatic education, bass genetic research, sport fish disease research and sport fish stockings.
