Greetings from National Training Chair

Welcome to this year’s Virtual Annual National Training Institute (NTI) of Blacks In Government, Inc. I am so excited that you have chosen to take this opportunity to attend BIG’s dynamic training experience. Our training theme this year is BIG 2021: “Training Matters- Roadmap to Securing Your Career Goals” which focuses on many opportunities to motivate us to succeed in our challenging working environment. It is my hope that you will take full advantage of the workshops, agency forums, special emphasis presentations, guest speakers, and so forth to empower your minds with adequate knowledge, skills, and abilities for enhanced professional and personal development. Local, state, and federal governments need leaders who are equipped with great leadership skills to face challenges in our workplaces, and our BIG NTI is the resource to prepare and develop leaders. BIG is excited about offering over 40 workshops this year and a variety of competency skills instructed by dynamic instructors. Whether a federal, state, or local government employee, the National Training Institute has information and opportunities to facilitate the development of everyone’s work place skills. We hope that you leave this year’s NTI nurtured and fulfilled with a wealth of knowledge to assist you in accomplishing your personal and professional careers. The 2021 National Training Institute Planning Team has worked diligently to ensure this training’s success. As the National Training Chair, I thank each of you for your enthusiasm, dedication, support, and team spirit in planning a wonderful training. I also would like to thank our National President Honorable Ms. Shirley A. Jones, the National Executive Committee, and the National Board of Directors for their confidence and support to the committee.
