Dear BPM Family, Friends, and Supporters, Dear BPM Family, Friends, and Supporters, On behalf of the proud members of Black Professional Men, Inc., (BPM), it is our honor and pleasure to welcome you to the Black Professional Men’s 25th Annual “Rays of Hope Award and Scholarship Breakfast”. We are honoring the outstanding achievements of our 2018 scholars. These exceptional young men epitomize the true spirit of our organization in their pursuit of excellence. BPM was co-founded in 1991 by Edwin Avent, Drew Hawkins, and N. Scott Phillips, and ever since, we have been courageously dedicated to our mission of community service, political involvement, and economic empowerment. As the President of BPM, I would like to take a moment to thank our members, those current and past, who unselfishly dedicate and volunteer countless hours of their time, talents, and resources in support of BPM’s mission. So many times, you see people talking about the problem. I am so honored to lead an organization that is about taking action towards the solution and making tangible differences in people’s lives. We would also like to thank our 2017 ROHAS our VP of Operations, O’Neill McDaniels, and the other members for their outstanding dedication, execution, and leadership. We take great pride in working with young men to accomplish our mission. A few examples include: * Providing scholarships to over 250 scholars to study at the college or university of their choice for the last 25 years. To date, we have awarded more than $270,000 in scholarships * On-going mentoring and financial support for BPM’s past scholars. We remain an active part of our scholars lives during their college years and beyond * Continued mentoring and providing financial literacy to over 1000 students within the Metro Baltimore Area schools * Establishing small business and employment development programs Finally, BPM will continue to set higher standards, as we understand that each of us has the responsibility not just to ourselves, but to one another and to future generations. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support for BPM as we strive to accomplish our mission of ‘ensuring the future of the African American male’. Sincerely, Hasson Diggs President Black Professional Men, Inc. www.bpminc.org (443) 379-4207
