1. Black Professional men. Black Professional Men, Inc. (BPM) BPM (www.bpminc.org) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland. BPM was established in 1991 to address the social, economic, and political awareness needs of the African-American community, especially those of the African-American male. The motto of BPM is “Ensuring the Future of the African-American Male”.

Youth Development Committee (YDC) This committee is focused on implementing youth-based programs and partnerships in support of the mission of BPM. YDC strives to create programs and partnerships (including schools, businesses, professional/civic organizations, fraternity organizations, and the general public) that target, build, and promote the youth in our community. Partnering with organizations with shared values is an integral part of the future success stories that are written at BPM.

2.Dear Black Men Jewel Guy is a healer, life coach, visual storyteller, author and speaker. Her life’s motto: “I just want to heal the people” resonates and drives her in all of her endeavors. Her mission is to assist with the transformation of dilapidated mindsets into keen, conscious self-awareness. Jewel’s latest book, “Dear Black Men: Affirmations, Questions, & Apologies You May Not Have Heard”, began as an authentic search to understand what was going on in the minds & hearts of Black men in order to produce a documentary that looked at Black men through the lens of empathy. After having honest and transparent conversations with her husband, brothers, and other Black men in the community, she realized that Black men were holding in feelings, emotions, and experiences that we’re often eating them alive and many of us - herself included - had not taken the time to listen. To hear. To understand. Where were the safe spaces for Black men? Who was creating space for them to take off their masks and bare their hearts? Who was open enough to hear about their burdens instead of acting like they do not exist? In October 2018, Jewel decided to create a safe space for Black men to receive consistent affirmations, heartfelt apologies, thought-provoking questions, and ultimately to be heard and understood. Today, she and her husband are taking that message into as many classrooms, organizations, and community spaces to begin having much needed authentic conversations."

The Black Fathers Foundation The mission of the Black Fathers Foundation is to give black men and organizations working with them the resources needed to help fathers overcome any and all obstacles to being the best fathers they can possibly be. We are committed to giving black men raising or fighting to raise children the opportunity to be heard in their own words and voices in order to shatter to the stereotypes around who we are as fathers. We are committed to partnering with other organizations to provide black men and their families with access to resources, information and activities that make our families and communities stronger. And we are committed to providing financial assistance to organizations working to assist fathers and families, as well as fathers and families directly.
