Entering the world of Grandmother Ayahuasca (Abuela) medicine is not made just by choice. It's much deeper and sacred. It stems from a deep-rooted need, and then a call. A call that Abuela herself makes to you. And then the knowing comes from deep-inside when, and if, you surrender and answer that call.This is my diary, my story, I kept as I made the pilgrimage into her care. How the call, the synchronicities, and the divine alignment all came to be in the years leading up to the moment when I finally drank the brew of this plant medicine and her spirit became a part of mine that will last a lifetime.A lifetime to reach her, yet the rest of this lifetime to be taught by her, this is a complete capturing of my experience, my process, my visions, my lessons, my tears and my laughter all to bring light, answers, and even resolution to so many parts of me that needed this work.As a novice, this book is for you. While my story may only be one version of how an experience can be, know that your needs, shadows and reasons to answer the call are valid and deserve to be considered. Documentaries and stories of others may deter you from taking this step, but the intent of me sharing my first of many experiences with this medicine is to show there is care and safety out there in the world of plant medicine.
