IMPORTANT UPDATES INCLEMENT WEATHER Inclement weather is upon us and so are the risks of injuries due to snow and ice. Appropriate footwear is critical during unpredictable weather. Wear footwear that provides good traction and insulation: Non-slip rubber typically makes the best soles for snow and ice. Soles with larger treads offer plenty of grip. They'll help you avoid slipping when you're walking in wintry conditions, as well as keeping your feet waterproof. Remember to keep your hands free and to look ahead in the direction you are walking to avoid slipping and falling. We want to sincerely thank the members of our facilities team for a great job shoveling and ensuring walkways and roads are clean and safe for us to use. But remember, we all have to do our part.

SIGN UP TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY INFORMATION! Omnilert is the preferred tool for campus-wide emergency communication. It delivers timely notifications on weather updates, cancellations, emergencies, and safety alerts via text messages to students, faculty, and staff. To register for Omnialert, click HERE!

Organization Chart Update! Bay Path University’s organization chart has been updated. To access the Organization Chart, please click here to view it. Feel free to reach out to HR if you have any questions.

PTO Guidelines for COVID and Other Illnesses As flu and cold season coincides with the persistent threat of COVID-19, we're approaching both with a unified strategy. We urge everyone to prioritize good hygiene, seek medical advice when needed, and follow guidelines to safeguard our community. Treating COVID-19 akin to the flu underscores our commitment to collective well-being during this challenging season. Documentation from a healthcare provider or third party to support the use of sick time will be required when employee's use of earned sick time: 1. exceeds 24 consecutively scheduled work hours; 2. exceeds three (3) consecutive days on which the employee was scheduled to work; 3. occurs within two (2) weeks prior to an employee’s final scheduled day of work before termination of employment, except in the case of temporary employees; 4. occurs after 4 unforeseeable and undocumented absences within a 3-month period; or 5. for employees aged 17 and under, occurs after 3 unforeseeable and undocumented absences within a 3-month period. Required documentation must be submitted to Human Resources within seven (7) days of the absence. Additional time will be allowed for good cause shown.

CORE VALUE OF THE MONTH Diversity Makes Us Stronger.

The beauty and potential of our learners lies in their diversity. We respect, value, and celebrate differences in race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, backgrounds, and experiences, as well as perspectives and opinions. As a community, we strive to be reflective and representative of the learners we so proudly serve. It is through rich diversity that we will together achieve greatness.

GOLDEN COMPASS AWARD CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

We will continue the presentation of our monthly Golden Compass Award! As we know, the Bay Path Golden Compass Award is intended to highlight a small but mighty act of how our colleagues are working to bring our Core Values to life. All community members are encouraged to nominate a peer they want to commend for being intentional when applying the Bay Path Core Values to their work and relationships.

The Core Values Resource Hub History of the Golden Compass Award Previous Recipients of the Golden Compass Interested in serving as a Core Values Ambassador? Email us at corevalues@baypath.edu.

Learning how to have productive conversations about race is a necessary part of the human experience. Educator Afrika Afeni Mills says the best place to start is in the classroom because the earlier these skills are taught, the fewer biases there are to unlearn. She shares four actionable lessons to help people overcome their fear and take on these conversations at any age.

BPU Anti-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy Bay Path is committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination and harassment, for all community members. In the fall an updated AntiDiscrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy was shared. The recording Anti-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy presentation is available for your review.
