As Principal of Bournemouth and Poole College’s University Centre, I’m very proud that our degree-level courses focus on skills that will get students great jobs in sectors like Engineering, Business and Management, the Creative Industries, Animation and Health Professions.

Our University Centre provides a dedicated base for our higher-level course students and provides excellent technical facilities for learning.

First-class facilities and access to the right equipment are important elements to students having a positive experience of higher education, and we’re pleased to offer a supportive approach to degree-level study, with smaller groups, lower fees and great support for students.

Our courses are all approved or validated by university partners or exam boards, so they have great impact on our graduates’ CVs and enable them to quickly get jobs, get promoted and earn more throughout their careers. Many students choose to continue their studies with us at higher level or decide to return to their studies as adult learners because of this.

For local businesses, our careerfocused higher education courses and Degree Apprenticeships help them find, recruit and promote people for the roles they need to fill, increasing productivity and local prosperity.

That is why we are talking with the companies we work with, about how they can collaborate with us in the University Centre and see their current and future employees benefit from our excellent working relationships.

I’d recommend coming along to one of our Open Events to see for yourself what our amazing University Centre has to offer and to speak with staff and feel their enthusiasm for what they do.

I look forward to welcoming you to our fantastic University Centre.

LEVEL 6 BA (Hons) Music & Sound Production (Top Up) Franchised by Arts University Bournemouth.

‘Thanks to the Music, Sound and Production FdA course and lecturers, I found that I had skills in areas of the music industry that I didn’t know existed. For instance, I never knew that I would be any good at creating and mixing sound effects and music for film. With some insight from my lecturers, that section of the course earned me almost full marks distinction.

The lecturers were always willing and able to critique my work to help me learn how to achieve a better grade. Being an FdA student meant I had priority access to studios, equipment, computers, anything I needed to make sure I was able to comfortably get my work done.

I was always treated very well at the college. Everyone there is personable, friendly, and always wanting to see you better yourself and your understanding. I learned a lot about what I am capable of and the music industry thanks to this course. And now I have a level 5 distinction in Music, Sound and Production.’

Elliott, graduated 2024
