WELCOME MESSAGE

E mihi kau ana ano ki a koutou ki tenei rohe On behalf of Bowls New Zealand it gives me great pleasure to welcome back to Auckland the young men and women competing in the Kittyhawk National Under 21 Men’s and Women’s Singles. This tournament has been a launching pad for many young bowlers, and it was wonderful to see so many of last year’s participants playing in the this year’s Heartland National Championships. The successes enjoyed by our young people in those Championships reflects the preparation and dedication that you put in to our sport, and I am sure that you all will put in the effort demanded for this tournament; I wish you all every success. We are being hosted in this event by Howick Bowls which comprises the Howick and the Howick Women’s Bowling Clubs. I know that you will be looked after extremely well. The hosting of any national tournament places significant demands on a club’s members, volunteers, facilities, and greens. Thank you to the Howick clubs and members for your hospitality and for opening your facilities and greens to our young people and their supporters. Thank you also to the umpires, markers and other officials contributing to this tournament To our players, enjoy the tournament and the experience, enjoy the friendships you will make, and do come back again next year. Hei kona ra Mike Spring, President
