WELCOME MESSAGE

Haere mai koutou katoa puta noa i te motu. On behalf of Bowls New Zealand it gives me great pleasure to welcome to Wellington all teams attending the Bowls New Zealand National Intercentre 2017. These teams represent 25 of our 27 Centres and I wish you all well as you strive for the honour of pre-eminence amongst the Centres throughout the country. Thank you to Bowls Wellington who volunteered to host this tournament, to Wilton Bowling Club which again is our headquarters club, and to the seven other co-hosting clubs (Johnsonville, Silverstream, Island Bay, Massey Avenue, Wainuiomata, Naenae and Hutt). All of these clubs, their members, greens staff and volunteers, have put in significant efforts to provide greens, club facilities and support for this national tournament; your contribution is much appreciated – thank you. Thank you also to our markers, umpires, recorders and other officials whose individual contributions are such a large part of the tournament. To all the players: good luck, represent your Centres with pride, play hard but fair, and enjoy the camaraderie and competition. And on completion, travel safely home and enjoy the rest of your season. Hei kona ra Mike Spring, President 3
