William H. Bowen School of Law University of Arkansas at Little Rock

Application Process Bowen values inclusion and is committed to enrolling students of diverse ethnicities, life experiences, and professional backgrounds. Therefore the Bowen Admissions Committee takes a holistic approach to application evaluation, meaning it takes the complete application into consideration, not merely LSAT and undergraduate GPA. The Bowen Application deadline is March 15. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all required documents by January 15. Bowen does not charge an application fee. A completed application consists of the following items:

1. Electronic Application

All applicants must submit an electronic application through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). Bowen will, however, make reasonable accommodations when necessary. Contact the Office of Admissions at 501.324.9903.

2. Admissions Essay

The admissions essay is an extremely important piece of the application package. The Admissions Committee uses this essay to evaluate applicants’ aptitude for legal education as well as applicants’ writing abilities. Each year, the Admissions Committee decides whether to require applicants to respond to a specific essay question or to simply provide an open-form essay/personal statement. Please pay very close attention to the application instructions.

3. CAS Report

The Credential Assembly Service (CAS) Report should include copies of transcripts for all post-secondary academic work undertaken, LSAT score information, a copy of the LSAT writing sample(s), and 2 letters of recommendation (required). No more than 2 letters of recommendation will be accepted, and letters sent directly to Bowen will not be considered.

4. Resume All applicants must submit a resume. Bowen automatically considers all admitted applicants for scholarships. There is no separate application. Each year, Bowen awards about $1 million in scholarships to the student body as a whole.
