Founded in 1831, Mount Auburn was the fir t landscaped cemetery in the country. Many prominent Americans are buried here, including Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Isabella Stewart Gardner and Winslow Homer. The cemetery is also an arboretum, sculpture garden and wildlife sanctuary. TORY ROW (BRATTLE STREET) One of the nation’s most beautiful residential streets, Tory Row is the site of Loyalist mansions and their elegant neighbors from nearly every period of early American architecture.
