In actual fact Sir Walter Scott referred to Kelso as 'The most beautiful if not the most romantic town in Scotland'.

The present hotel was built in 1769, but in other forms a Cross Keys hotel has occupied this site since the earliest days of Scottish coaching inns.

The historic cobbled square, magnificent Town Hall and nearby Kelso Abbey provide a perfect backdrop for photographs that you will share and cherish forever.

We can cater for as little as 15 and as many as 260 guests and the hotel is licensed for civil ceremonies, ensuring your day can move seamlessly from ceremony to celebration.

Your comfort is our priority The hotel provides a choice of 26 bedrooms from double, to twins and family rooms. And for the happy couple we offer something more intimate - a luxurious suite in our latest room design.

THE BALLROOM

We can cater for as little as 15 and as many as 200 guests and the hotel is licensed for civil ceremonies, ensuring your day can move seamlessly from ceremony to celebration.

The maximum numbers for evening celebrations is up to 240 guests and the room can be configured in a variety of different sizes and layouts offering endless possibilites for styling the space for your day. In the evening, lighting transforms the room and creates a magical atmosphere.

The Cross Keys Hotel is superbly situated in the heart of Kelso's picturesque French-style cobbled square and like our beautiful Borders town, is steeped in history and romance.

Our Ballroom is wonderfully spacious and has areas for dining, a large dance floor and stage for a band for evening celebrations. It is suited to wedding meals for 40 to 200 daytime guests.

THE OAK ROOM The Oak Room offers a more initimate space for smaller wedding parties to enjoy celebrations. It is the perfect suite for sharing your special day with just close family and friends.

The present hotel was built in 1769, but in other form a Cross Keys hotel has occupied this site since the earliest days of Scottish coaching inns. Today, the hotel is known for providing a warm and friendly welcome to its guests, excellent service from attentive staff and outstanding cuisine.

The Oak Room gets its name from its rich oak panelling that creates an elegant ambience.

The Oak Room is suited to wedding meals for 15 to 30 daytime guests.

Maximum numbers for evening celebrations is 70 guests.

THE DICKSON ROOM The Hotel is a licensed venue for Civil Marriages and Partnerships.

The Dickson Room is ideal for your civil wedding ceremony. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the Dickson Room can accommodate and seat 60 guests for your ceremony. We do not charge room hire for civil ceremonies.

The Dickson Room is best suited to wedding meals for 15 to 35 guests.
