Hotel MonacoPendry Hotel HOSPITALITY
Founded in 1980, Booth Hansen is a nationally-recognized architecture, planning, and interiors firm. As a medium sized firm, we provide project and design leadership with experienced principal architects who are engaged and attentive to the needs of every project no matter the size. Through commercial, cultural and educational projects, as well as multi-family and single-family residences, our contribution to the built environment aims to capture the unique quality of each project. We address the functional needs of our clients while seeking a direct connection with the human spirit through architecture’s timeless, poetic language.
We believe in the power of collaboration among designers, clients, stakeholders, and consultants to produce successful results and products of enduring quality. Clarity in communication leads to an equally defined design process, in which many voices come together in a single vision. As architects, we are agents of that vision, carefully evolving it from concept to construction.
With every project, Booth Hansen looks to create beautiful places that people treasure.
The hotel features a 400+ piece collection of cutting-edge artwork curated by world renowned Saatchi Art. The unique portfolio of multimedia artwork brings energy and surprise around every corner and is amplified by the eclectic architectural interior detailing. The Daxton’s elegance is further enhanced by its connection to outdoor spaces. Private terraces surround the premium suites on the 5th floor and a second level green roof courtyard breaks up the visual massing along Old Woodward.
Natural light plays an important role at the Daxton. Opulent, tall openings on the ground floor engage street presence by allowing passersby to view activities in the vibrant restaurant, bar and parlors within. Grand windows along the classically proportioned façade allow natural light to permeate deep into the guestrooms. The strategically placed corner curtainwall break up the façade in order to frame the views down the avenue from inside.
Booth Hansen created a timeless, elegant boutique hotel located in downtown Birmingham, MI at a prominent corner along the iconic Old Woodward Avenue. This world class destination features a minimalist luxe-design, incorporating the finest art, wellness, dining and retail. The project boasts over 151 rooms and suites, as well as a high-end restaurant, ballroom, and event space. Below grade levels provide parking and back-of-house services. A welcoming canopy creates a formal entry while connecting the building to the town’s streetscape. The exterior includes stately, high-quality materials of stone and glass with rich textures and a classic, refined color palette.

Pendry Chicago brings a unique experience to the city of Chicago with its central location, high-end dining and event spaces, unique art collection from worldrenowned and local Chicago artists and beautiful Art Deco inspired rooms overlooking Michigan Ave.
Booth Hansen was selected as the architect of record to execute the vision for the Pendry, located in Chicago’s landmarked Carbide and Carbon Building in the heart of the Loop neighborhood. Originally completed in 1929 by the Burnham Brothers, the Carbide and Carbon’s gold-leaf tower is an Art Deco icon in the city. As with any landmarked building, the challenge was working to keep the historic details while creating one of Chicago’s new high-end, exclusive destinations. Booth Hansen partnered with Studio Munge to create a contemporary and elegant design for the building while still keeping in touch with its historical design and Art Deco heritage.
– a stylish and modern French brasserie, café and oyster bar, Bar Pendry – an intimate and classic Chicago bar, The Billiard Gallery –a unique gathering space for events, Château Carbide –a summer rooftop bar, state-of-the-art fitness center, and 13,000-square-feet of meeting and event spaces such as the Grand Ballroom, Michigan Terrace Ballroom, and Champagne lounge.
CONCEPT/SCHEMATIC DESIGN – CHICAGO, IL
Located in the popular Fulton Market District near downtown Chicago, the original design for the 5-star Nobu Hotel was developed by Booth Hansen to relate to the neighborhood's history and context.
Booth Hansen led the design team to renovate the former Oxford House Hotel. The existing 13-floor building was gutted, leaving only the structure. A new zinc-clad façade and new windows give the building a fresh, contemporary look while working within existing structural constraints.
