George is the organizer of TEDxGrandviewHeights. He has coached over 100 speakers for their successful performance on the TEDx stage. George is passionate about developing young adults to become leaders and influential speakers. He believes that by educating them in the values of leadership and imparting necessary communication skills, they will be able to speak fluently from the heart, inspire people to transform themselves, and to make the world a better place.

2023 Theme

'Reimagine' is a call to action to harness youthful energy and creativity, and inspire new solutions for existing challenges.

It is an invitation for innovation, a beacon for bold thinkers, and a manifesto for the changemakers of tomorrow.

It is a rallying cry to not just accept the world as it is, but to dream, design, and build the world as it could be.

KENNETH LEE

Kenneth is a bright sixth-grader at Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary who has a penchant for drawing and a passion for literature. His favourite book is Roald Dahl's classic, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.' He also enjoys expressing his creativity through playing the piano.

CYNTHIA DONG

Cynthia, an 8-year-old in third grade, showcases a genuine love for a variety of pursuits. She enjoys writing and speaking, channels her energy into gymnastics and dance, and brings melodies to life on the piano. Her talent for recitation adds another dimension to her broad range of interests. Since the age of five, Cynthia's commitment to her passions has seen her winning first or second places in various annual competitions, a true testament to her dedication and growing abilities.

We are not confined by labels or societal norms. By promoting empathy, inclusion, body positivity, and action, our speakers inspire us to see ourselves in a new light.

ALBERT QIU

Albert is a 10-year-old fifth grader with a diverse set of interests that range from breakdancing and Greek mythology to coding. An ardent lover of sea creatures, he has demonstrated his commitment to their preservation by actively participating in a fundraiser for the Vancouver Aquarium. Alongside his academic pursuits, Albert also enjoys various sports such as lacrosse, rugby and water polo.

Maggan is a 17-year-old who is proud to call Xinjiang her home. Her dream career is to be a bear trainer in Moscow. She is now inspired to name her bear TED after her appearance on the TEDx stage. Maggan is passionate about figure skating, and spends most of her time on the ice throughout the year.
