December 2020
Letter from the President Greetings to you all from Myrtle Beach!! I sincerely hope this edition of the Booe’s News finds each of you and your entire family safe and doing well. I had many ideas floating around in my head of how I was going to start this year’s edition of the newsletter, but I settled in on just one word…WOW! As we are all aware, around planet earth, 2020 has been a very trying year on our faith, our nerves, our health, our financial wellbeing, and certainly our emotions. As I remind the Booe Crew on a constant basis, keep your head up, stay positive and keep moving forward. We will all get through this together – better and stronger! When the virus hit us in March, our doors were closed for the first time by an event other than a hurricane. It was new to us, and we were a bit scared. I gathered the Booe Crew together, and we worked to change our policies surrounding safety within the office, the maintenance department, and the housekeeping departments to help ensure we were operating in a safe and efficient manner. From installing plexi-glass barriers, requiring guests to wear masks upon entering the office, and enhancing our cleaning procedures, the day to day operations pivoted in order to survive and stay safe. The Booe Crew’s health and safety is always my top priority! I cannot be more proud of the staff and how we handled what this entire year has brought us. The year 2020 has had many ups and downs. While we only had one hurricane (Isaias) blow through in early August with very minimal damage, our thoughts and prayers have been with those along the Gulf Coast as they have endured many storms this year. In regards to the Booe Crew, I made certain there were no layoffs during this crisis and made them aware that their job was safe. As stated, we are all in this together. While the Booe Crew worked tirelessly to instate and advertise policies to help ensure the safest experience for each of our guests, we undoubtedly faced challenges with the widespread uncertainties surrounding COVID19 and a fear of travel to popular vacation spots. We continue to do our best for our guests and owners by following guidelines of local and national officials. Please enjoy this year’s version of the Booe’s News! Read about what each department is busy doing, see some of our favorite holiday recipes, and meet our newest member of the Booe Crew, David Lancaster, our Housekeeping department supervisor. As always, I very much appreciate and value my relationship with our owners and guests. Reach out to us at any time if you ever need anything. Please continue to stay safe and enjoy the upcoming holiday season!
All my best, Miller Hawkins
