Pre-School

Who?

Stina Wirsén’s Who? series deals with important and difficult topics with impressive simplicity and commitment for both young and old. With sensitivity and a genuine interest for the child’s perspective, Wirsén is masterful at finding the conflict and drama in everyday situations and with humour, honesty, and deep compassion, Wirsén creates a space where big feelings are allowed  – whether they be jealousy, joy, frustration, fear, loneliness or love – and where every child can find themselves reflected. Stina Wirsén perfectly captures the horror of being lost in a big department store, the new kid stealing the spotlight at a birthday party, having to go to the hospital, trying to make a new friend, and always writes with warmth and humour. From single parents to stepparents, from nuclear families to those with two moms or two dads, these stories honour the many ways love gathers and grows. Chosen families and blended homes are not explained or excused – they simply are, woven seamlessly into the everyday. This is storytelling that doesn’t sugarcoat, but uplifts. That meets children exactly where they are and trusts them with the truth.

Sold in over a million copies in Sweden alone, the Who? books have been a beloved favourite celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Stina Wirsén’s illustrations can be found, not just in her own books, but also in Dagens Nyheter (Sweden’s largest morning paper) and in the books of some of Sweden’s most internationally well-known children’s authors. Wirsén is also active as an artist and has participated in several art exhibitions both in Sweden and abroad.

Where Is Dim?

DIM:

Winter has wrapped the forest in a sparkling blanket. But where is Dim? Lummer hasn’t seen his friend since the frost arrived!

Through the cold, white landscape, Lummer sets off in search of Dim.

Where do the tracks lead? Do the fox, the squirrel, or the moose know where Dim might be?

With magical watercolours and a poetic touch, Maria Nilsson Thore captures winter’s quiet beauty and the warmth of true friendship in another charming tale of Dim and Lummer.

A story of loss and discovery – and the courage to explore the unknown.

The Cat Palace

It was sunny. We were chilling by the old railway line. The tracks had been damaged during a big storm, so we decided that it was haunted.

‘How far can you throw your stick?’ I asked.

‘Over that wall,’ said Masse.

And that’s how it all started.

On the other side of the wall, Masse and his friend find a mysterious abandoned house. Outside, there is a lot of rubbish, but inside the dilapidated house, there are lots of nice things, like a real palace! But who actually lives here? Who has made it so nice – and what will happen to the cat palace when it is demolished?

The Cat Palace is a picture book that depicts the summer adventure season of life, where a child’s curious view of the world is contrasted with the rules of the adult world. Cecilia Heikkilä’s picture books often raise philosophical questions in a down-toearth way, and her cats, foxes, moles, bears and badgers are loved by critics and readers around the world.

The Tomte Children Tales

New adventures in Tomte Hollow Forest!

For over a century, Elsa Beskow’s Children of the Forest with their little red mushroom hats and mossy world, have enchanted readers young and old. Her tales have become a treasured part of childhood – full of nature, magic, and the quiet wisdom of the forest.

We meet Pär, Truls, Kajsa and Tusse – four forest children with curious hearts and muddy boots – as they host a moonlight party on the Green Meadow, build a secret hut on Blåsippsbacken, and sing Bergatrollet gently to sleep for the winter. These are stories for today’s children, filled with joy, adventure and kindness  – but steeped in the same deep love of nature and childlike wonder that made Elsa Beskow’s tales timeless.

With great care and affection, this new book captures the soul of Beskow’s storytelling – the lyrical tone, the gentle humour, and the enchanting balance between the real and the magical. A celebration of tradition and imagination, perfect for cozy story times and quiet read-aloud moments.

Extra special features about the wonderful Rabbit family in Fairytale Forest in a new collection!

Praise has been pouring in for Jonna Björnstjerna’s awardwinning picture books since the first book about Lillebror Kanin was published in 2007. They are wonderfully exciting and entertaining for the youngest book lovers, and attentive adults will also find little gifts in the form of references to other well-known fairy tales or classic horror films. Now we are bringing together Djupsjöns hemlighet (The Secret of Deep Lake 2017), Farbror Elände (Uncle Misery, 2018) and Spöktåget (The Ghost Train, 2020) in the same book.

Come with us below the surface of the mysterious Djupsjön, meet three-headed trolls and miserable old men who spread bad luck, and finish with a thrilling train ride with listless ghosts, skeletons and other scary things straight towards the abyss!

The Dark Tales of Lillebror Rabbit

Step into the dark world of Lillebror Rabbit and his family, w ritten and illustrated by Jonna Björnstjerna.

These are scary tales for 3–6 year olds… but they are also wonderful! The Dark Tales of Lillebror Rabbit are set in a fairy tale-esque world where things are not just exciting and captivating, but also deal with things that may feel scary and how to overcome fear. Come along for adventures with three-headed trolls, aliens, and grumpy, unlucky, old men.

Jonna Björnstjerna invites readers to these cosy thrillers for the youngest readers. Her illustrations invoke thoughts of both Edward Gorey and John Bauer and she herself cites Julie Doucet and Tim Burton as great inspirations. In her version of stories for children, with elements of both the scary and romanticism, the results are fantastic, fun, and personal stories where we all can recognise ourselves! She has even been called the Stephen King for the youngest readers (Petter Lindgren, Aftonbladet). The somewhat surrealistic stories are about courage and daring to do things that might be a bit scary, but they always end happily. The stories also have heaps of humour, excitement, and detailed rich illustrations with lots to look at and discuss. Twice awarded with the best picture book by Bokjuryn (where the children themselves vote for their favourites).

Besides the main series, Björnstjerna has also written an introduction to the Enchanted forest with the The Flora & Fauna of Wonderwoods. There, Lillebror Rabbit guides the reader through pretty glades, all while encountering fascinating monsters, mean little elves and terrifying creatures and plants!

You know how this book ends. People die in the freezing water on a terrible night in 1912. The survivors never forget the sight of the huge ship sinking into the sea.

And in the darkness of the night, there weren’t enough places on the lifeboats... Read about the heroes who sacrificed their lives rather than take someone else’s place on the lifeboats, but also about those who were willing to do anything to survive.

Andreas Palmaer is an experienced non-fiction writer and writes in an incredibly captivating and informative way about the Titanic’s first and only voyage. Henrik Jonsson, who has previously illustrated the Pax series, among other things, has created the dramatic illustrations.

Tell Me Trilogy

Tell Me Three Things

All Liv can think about is death. All Dag can think about is Liv. She’s stuck in her apartment, grieving her mother and fearing she’s caught COVID from a boy who kissed her. He’s outside her door on the worst day of his life. In a whirlwind of cupcakes, camping tables and cherry blossoms, their worlds collide. But can you fall in love through a door? And is there space for love when it feels like the world is ending?

Supernova

After being dumped right after graduation, Nova is stuck in the dull town of Niversjö with nothing but a bag of gold stars, a map, and a mission: make this summer count. When she meets Leo, a petrol station philosopher with his own scars, they set off in search of freedom, self-discovery – and maybe, something like love – under a sky full of infinite possibilities.

Tell Me Everything

Two years after Dag’s death, his friends have scattered. Matteo is stuck, lost in memory, working retail instead of chasing his dreams. Corey lives with the weight of being the one who survived. Under the cherry blossoms, they slowly begin to hope again  – to risk love, even if it means breaking open first.

Raw, romantic, and unforgettable, the Tell Me Trilogy is Sweden’s answer to The Perks of Being a Wallflower and John Green

This series captures the heartbreak, humour, and headlong hope of coming of age when everything feels like too much – and not enough
