Eligibility, Judging & Awards, Categories Eligibility

• The Excellence in Design Awards contest is open to all lighting designers, architects, engineers, professional designers and consultants who have used Elite Lighting, Maxilume, and Oracle Lighting products. • All entries must include an entry form. Extra forms may be downloaded from the Elite Lighting website at www.iusseelite.com. • All entries must be postmarked on or before June 30th 2009. • Employees of Elite Lighting, including family members, and any company and its employees who have a business relationship with Elite Lighting are excluded from entering the Elite Lighting Excellence in Design Awards contest.

Judging and Awards

Judging for the 2010 Elite Lighting Excellence in Design Awards will take place in July 2009 by a panel of lighting industry professionals.

Categories

Since this is the first year of this contest, there are no set categories. There is no minimum or maximum number of entries per person or company. Each project submitted will be judged separately from all other projects.

Awards

The top four winners will receive cash awards. Grand Prize: $5,000.00 First Place: $2,500.00 Second Place: $1,000.00 Third Place: $500.00 • The winners will receive national and local recognition through publicity and advertising. • Thirty nominees will be selected nationwide to attend the 2010 Elite Lighting Excellence in Design Awards & Gala. All expenses paid.

Two hundred and fifty entries will be selected nationwide to receive a pair of complimentary tickets to attend the 2009 Elite Lighting Excellence in Design Awards & Gala.

Professional Requirements 1. The competition requires the use of any or all Elite Lighting, Maxilume or Oracle Lighting brands. 2. Entries will be judged on creative design, innovative solutions and energy efficiency. 3. The competition in 2008 and concepts in progress scheduled for completion by ______________ are eligible for contest considerations. Entries must be postmarked by______________. 4. Entries must be submitted in a digital format. Each entry must include 4-10 images in a TIF, PSD, EPS, or JPEG format. The images should be approximately 8 x 10” at 300 resolution on a CD. Specify if the file is Mac-or PCbased. No entries will be accepted in an email format. 5. All entries must comply with IES guidelines, as well as applicable energy/safety codes. 6. Images may include before/after photos, project details and other information that demonstrate the uniqueness of the lighting. 7. All images must be labeled with a project name and number, with a corresponding description. The description should include type of lighting and the reason it was selected. 8. All entries must include a summary of up to 300 words, describing the challenge, the design concept and the design solution.

9. All entries must include a schedule that indicates the use of Elite Lighting or Maxilume fixtures. This should be accompanied by description or notes/comments to detail why and how the Elite Lighting or Maxilume fixtures were selected or applied. 10. In addition to the entry form, applicants must provide the following information with each entry on a separate cover sheet: • Entrant’s Name • Address • Telephone & Fax #s • Email Address • Name of Project • Location of Project • Size of Project (in dollar value and approx. square footage) • Unit Power Density (expressed in watts per square foot or meter) • Date of Project Completion • Design Team including non-employees of firm (see eligibility section) • Photographer
