The terrain of the island is rocky coral, thus it’s mostly flat and dry, however, in the Washington Slagbaai National Park hills, mountains and lakes surrounded by cacti and divi trees. The salt mountains and mines are a heritage from old Dutch colonial times, and slave huts alongside the south road serve as a memorial. Nevertheless, the local culture is rich in tradition, cuisine, hope and character, which is easily felt once visiting the other town of Bonaire – Rincon.
Lac Bay Lac Bay - the bay harbouring Sorobon Boutique Hotel - is one of the most spectacular natual wonders in the Caribbean. It is a bay protected from the ocean waves and water by a big reef, making the water extremely shallow for more than two kilometers with barely any tides! The bay amazes with its incredible turquoise hue and warm waters, stretching for miles. The surrounding mangroves make this nature reserve very special and important for the growth of many living species. It is called a Ramsar site. Lac Bay lagoon is a famous windsurfing destination. The proximity of the ocean also creates steady winds of at least 10-15 knots. Such consistent daily conditions have created the perfect spot for windsurfing.

Future Projections Sorobon Boutique Hotel currently consists of one apartment building (building A) and the Magna pool lounge. In the following few years, we are planning the construction of two additional buildings. The apartments from future buildings D and E are for sale as well. Building D Building D will be the biggest construction in the Sorobon Boutique Hotel complex. It will directly face the the Lac Bay lagoon and the Magna pool area. The Main entrance to the apartments will be from the back of the building. The additional entrance will be through the grand stairs leading from the pool lounge and outside common decking. The building will have two identical floors, each with 10 apartments with different room types. Apartments on the ground floor will have extra terraces of at least 8.8m2 with direct access to the lounge and the pool areas. The apartments on the first floor will have a balcony that with a magnificent view to the lagoon.
