BOMA Toronto Mission

“BOMA Toronto develops, promotes and advances best practices in the Real Estate Industry through advocacy, education and networking.” Established in 1917, the Building Owners and Managers Association of the Greater Toronto Area – BOMA Toronto – has grown along with the evolution of the institutional, commercial and industrial building sector.

Today, our more than 750 real estate professional members represent 80 percent of all commercial and industrial real estate companies in the GTA. These individuals are the leading building owners, property and facility managers, developers, leasing agents, and service providers.

BOMA Toronto is also prominent on the national and international stages. It is an affiliate of the 17,000-member BOMA International organization, a federated member of BOMA Canada, and the second-largest local BOMA Association in North America.

Our core strengths – the four pillars of the Association – are the BOMA Professional, the BOMA Building, the BOMA Voice, and the BOMA Network.

The BOMA Professional

Competencies and training required of individuals to meet and maintain the demands of a complex and constantly changing commercial real estate industry.

We keep property owners and managers up-to-date in a fast-changing environment. In cooperation with the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) Education Canada, the Association offers specialized classroom courses leading to the internationally recognized professional designations RPA (Real Property Administrator) and FMA (Facility Management Administrator). In addition, our forums, seminars and learning luncheons cover the issues everyone is talking about and give members a chance to learn from and speak to respected experts.

The BOMA Building

Fostering and recognizing excellence in building management and operations through programs, resources, certifications and awards.

The BOMA BEST program guides buildings to enhanced environmental stewardship, operational savings and industry benchmarking. Under BOMA’s Certificate of Excellence program, buildings are recognized for meeting the industry standards in building management and operations, community impact, tenant relations, energy and environment management, emergency preparedness and the training of building personnel.

The Association also recognizes buildings, their owners and managers for top performance through various awards programs, such as the Earth Award, Pinnacle Awards, The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards.
