HESKETH HOUSE NEWSLETTER
11 SEPTEMBER 2024
A note from the Head…
Welcome back! I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting your daughters in their exciting and colourful classrooms this week and have been impressed with how quickly they have settled into school. Hesketh House is a wonderful place to learn!
Our assemblies this week have focused on finding our talents. We shared the story ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ . This book has an inspiring and timeless message which will encourage our girls to find the success that lies within, no matter what challenges they face. It’s a particular favourite of mine for all our pupils, especially anyone starting a new school.
Hesketh House - a place where everyone can flourish!

Communication with School
A reminder that if you need to contact School or report an absence, please email juniorgirls@boltonschool.org and include your daughter’s name and form in any email communication. Alternatively you can telephone our School Office on 01204 434761
Our Newsletter is emailed to parents each Wednesday and you will find important information with key dates We have a very exciting and busy year planned, so please keep an eye on our calendar
VAT and Fees
This past week has seen another flurry of announcements about how other schools will accommodate the requirement to pay VAT on fees from 1 January 2025.
As Mr Britton set out in his email to parents on Friday, our position is unchanged. The fee for this year, which was already announced, is £11,488 for Primary Division and £14,316 for Boys’ and Girls’ Division. Thesefees include any VATand, as usual, include lunches.

Our fees will not rise by more than 5% in any year and so our fee for 2025/26 including VAT will not be more than £12,024 for Primary Division and £15,036 for the senior schools.
There will be no mid-year rises.
I repeat this information from Mr Britton’s email here, as we know that news of other schools’ approaches, and the press coverage of this issue, can be concerning. Mr Britton’s recent blogAffordableandWorthAffording (boltonschool.me) contains some additional detail which may be of interest.
We would be most grateful if you happen to be in conversation with parents whose children are yet to start at Bolton and may be coming to Open Morning this year that you share this fee information, as they may otherwise be concerned.
We have recently had unusual interest from families wishing to join us mid-year. Again, if you find yourself in such discussions it may be useful to know we have an assessment day on Friday 13 September and there are a small number of places available in every year group for in year entry.
