Jacket design in general trade publishing has become more important than ever, as titles compete for attention in an increasingly competitive landscape and in both physical and digital worlds. There has been a significant rise in appreciating cover design as an art form once again. Jackets give face to a book’s personality, can be a quick way to signal genre and hint of the words inside. Each nation communicates something of its individual style and personality through its books and their covers. This year the Best of the Best contest is exclusively focusing on, and celebrating the work of, the publishers from the inaugural Market of Honour, Greece. By narrowing the field to one region, it enables a sharper focus on a range of works from one culture and language, encouraging deeper debate, and celebrating a rich publishing sector.

All participating Greek publishers submit one book jacket, and the announcement of the winner will be during the Fair at the BBPlus Theatre. The longlist of jacket images is on display in the BBPlus Hall 29.
