“We have an exciting future ahead of us as we embark on an educational revolution. The Sanchez Fender Center for Innovation will be a state-of-the-art facility that will serve essentially as an epicenter. It’s within the walls of the Sanchez Fender CFI that we will nurture the seeds of curiosity, cultivate the spirit of inquiry and witness the blossoming of creativity.”

In addition to numerous cutting-edge classrooms and sophisticated specialty labs, the new Sanchez Fender CFI building will also house Bolles’ Anatomage table — the world’s first and only virtual dissection table used by medical schools and universities around the globe.

The Bolles community is excited to celebrate the opening of the new Frank R. Sanchez & Hope and Dana E. Fender Center for Innovation building for the 2024-25 school year. This state-of-the art building joins several other projects made possible through the generosity and support of the Bolles community. Be sure to join us during a special celebration on Saturday, September 28 when we honor friends and families who have supported this impressive addition to the Upper School San Jose Campus.

Ponte Vedra Beach Campus

The Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus held a ribbon cutting February 2, 2024 alongside the Bolles Office of Advancement to celebrate the official opening of the Wotiz Family Outdoor Learning Center “The Treehouse,” which was supported by a multitude of Bolles families at the campus.

Parrish Family Outdoor Learning Lab, Bartram Campus

Situated next to Pratt Library, this engaging space allows students to conduct experiential lessons in nature, taking them beyond the classroom environment. This project was made possible by a number of donors who share a passion for the environment of learning.

Tarver Pool, San Jose Campus

Phase I of the Aquatic Complex on the Upper School San Jose Campus included: Tarver Pool, Murphy Olympic Walk, Gold Scoreboard, Zorn Stadium, Meyers-Labenz Family Pool Deck, and a multitude of swim lanes and swim blocks supported by our Bolles philanthropic community.

George Hall, Ponte Vedra Beach Campus

This 10,800-square-foot gym promotes indoor “Power of Play” activities. Initial funding for the building came from Bolles Ponte Vedra Beach teacher, Cathy Stupski, who made an incredible gift in honor of her late husband, Karl. As the result of her generous donation, several other Bolles families applied financial backing to the project.

Whitehurst Flag Walkway, Whitehurst Campus

The Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus celebrated the official opening of the Whitehurst Flag Walkway May 10, 2024 during Flag. The paved pathway, which leads to the Flag Stage area, was generously donated by the Walker family, who also renovated the Grade 1 and Grade 2 walkways.

Bent Tennis Center, San Jose Campus

The Bent Tennis Center supported by the Bent family on the Upper School San Jose Campus enriches our students’ tennis experience and enhances elite training capabilities.

Dear Bolles Community,

It is with immense gratitude that we thank you for your support of The Bolles School and present to you this year’s Stewardship Brochure.

What amazing philanthropic momentum has marked this year of giving and we thank you for being an important part of the Bolles family!

This is indeed a year of celebration with the results of your generosity evident on all four campuses and in our magnitude of award-winning programs. From the opening of the Sanchez Fender Center For Innovation and Commander Park at the upper school to Powell’s Beach, a new train and paver enhancements at the Lower School Whitehurst Campus, the Parrish Family Outdoor Learning Lab on the Bartram Campus to the Wotiz Family Outdoor Learning Center on the Ponte Vedra Beach Campus, your gifts have made it all happen for our current students and future Bulldogs.

This incredible progress is possible because of your many gifts to our Comprehensive Campaign, that includes the Bolles Annual Fund, Planned and Estate Gifts, Endowment, as well as a multitude of capital projects.

Every gift has helped transform our School, especially the Bolles Annual Fund which provides unrestricted funding to meet the challenges and opportunities that arise every school year. Your participation to the Annual Fund is vital. As our unrestricted endowment grows, this also provides necessary funding for the greatest need through its growth and interest income annually. We invite you to consider your support for Bolles today. We have enclosed an envelope for your convenience where you may also request further information from one of our professionals on the Advancement Team.

Please look over the 2024-25 Stewardship Brochure to review the many benefits offered to you and mark your calendars for September 28 as we celebrate you and our Bolles community of donors for the transformative success of The Future is Now campaign. We are thankful for your heartfelt commitment to The Bolles School!

With gratitude,

What can I do for Bolles? We are trying to set an example for family and what our expectations are going forward as well.”

CLASS ENDOWMENTS

TOGETHER WE ARE BUILDING A LEGACY.

Did you know? Each alumni class now has an opportunity to make history and build on the Bolles legacy by creating a Class Endowment. Parents, families and friends can also create or contribute to a Class Endowment for their students at any grade level. It’s an exciting chance to make a difference for generations to come. Year after year, for new opportunities and critical needs alike, your Class Endowment will provide vitally important funds when Bolles needs them most.

In addition to supporting The Bolles School, each class that establishes an Endowment (named for their class) will also enjoy:

Q Recognition of your class year on a plaque located in historic Bolles Hall

Q Recognition at Homecoming and Alumni Reunion Weekend

Q Being featured on the Bolles website and Alumni+ portal

Q Knowing that your class has come together to make your own distinct and collective mark on The Bolles School community.

“Establishing a Class Endowment is a chance for Alumni to show ongoing support and appreciation with a gift that will grow and benefit the School in perpetuity. I can’t think of a better tribute to our own Bolles experience than helping to provide that experience for future generations!”

“Although our children are many years from graduation, my husband and I were delighted to help establish their Class Endowments now. I have always found that the earlier you become involved in supporting an institution, the more you remain connected in the long term. It is a matter of engagement, and we want to nurture that engagement for our family at Bolles.”

Endowments

SUPPORTING THE BOLLES SCHOOL THROUGH AN ENDOWMENT.

In addition to Class Endowments, there are many other opportunities to support The Bolles School today as well as in the future. A Bolles Endowment will provide funding and support in perpetuity for our beloved School, just as your gift will be recognized and honored forever.

Did you know?

Q Bolles currently has 135 named endowments with a value of over $27.6 million. To be aligned with our peer institutions in longevity and sustainability, The Bolles School should have an endowment of at least $165.9 million.

Q A Bolles Endowment may be established with a minimum total contribution of $50,000 by a one-time gift, a pledge over multiple years or through cumulative gifts from classmates, friends and families contributing different amounts in accordance with their philanthropic abilities.

Q Whether donors create a new endowment or wish to support an existing one, they will become a permanent part of Bolles history.

Q Every donor to a Bolles Endowment fund will receive an informative report each year detailing the Endowment’s growth and its significance to the School.

To learn more about existing Endowment opportunities or to discuss creating your own, contact a member of the Advancement team today.

Current parents and Board of Trustees member Steve Gold ’95 and wife, Katie, have created multiple endowments at The Bolles School including support for the swim program, resident program and a mental health and wellness lecture series. “After contributing to “The Future is Now” Campaign, Katie and I wanted to continue to support the School by creating endowments that would have the potential to make a broad and lasting impact. We are thankful for Bolles being supportive of establishing these endowments with our family and we know that the endowments will continue to give back to Bolles long after we are gone.”
