Upon review and approval from The Bolles School Pandemic Task Force, The Bolles School completes all physical campus modifications and PPE requirements needed to support students of all age levels safely returning to campus August 13.

We are planning for four different operating scenarios

Families will be given the option to learn from home on a quarterly basis.

Bolles is ready and has plans in place for traditional learning or any scenario of blended and Distance Learning. This information will be updated as CDC, state and local recommendations evolve.

HEALTH AND SAFETY All campuses will be sanitized and deep cleaned prior to start of school.

The Bolles COVID Task Force has decided to make mask-wearing on campuses optional when students are outside as of 4/22/21. As has been recommended all year, physical distancing and unmasked interactions should be less than 15 minutes. We will continue to require mask-wearing at all times when students are indoors, unless they are eating or engaged in a physical activity.

Use of shared materials will be limited.

Bolles has superior HVAC systems that use outside air units and UV light to provide fresh, clean air and keep it pure.

Increased hygiene protocols have been added including additional hand washing stations, hand sanitizer dispensers, disinfectant wipes, disposable towels and disinfectant spray.

All main touch points and restrooms are being cleaned multiple times a day with an industry recommended sanitizer.

Bolles has partnered with the Mayo Clinic to offer consultation for safely returning to campus, provide training for faculty and staff and provide testing for our resident students and employees.

Isolation spaces have been created on each campus for suspected COVID patients.

Boarders are returning to campus with a quarantine and testing plan in place prior to dorm access.

It remains essential that every student, faculty and staff member on every campus continue monitoring their health and responding to a questionnaire daily.

Protocols are in place, following CDC guidelines, regarding notification and contact tracing should a confirmed positive for COVID-19 occur.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Parents and visitors will not be allowed in school buildings unless given special permission.

Traffic flow protocols and/or added bells have been put in place on all campuses to maintain physical distancing.

Desks have been positioned and excess furniture has been removed from classrooms on all campuses to allow for greater physical distancing.

Where necessary, classes have been relocated to larger spaces on campuses to allow for greater physical distancing.

New protocols are in place for all transportation vehicles and bus passengers to maintain a healthy community.

In some learning spaces, plexiglass dividers will be utilized as an extra barrier between students.

Dining areas on all campuses have been adjusted to maintain touchless handling of food. In Lower School, lunch will occur in classrooms or outdoor spaces with food delivery. In Middle and Upper School, lunch will be staggered to decrease congestion and both indoor and outdoor spaces will be utilized to promote physical distancing.

Programs and events have been modified or rescheduled to limit crowd sizes and comply with physical distancing guidelines.

Virtual platforms will be used to reduce physical contact in the areas of group assemblies, student activities and volunteer meetings.

Extended day program will be modified to promote health and safety protocols, and physical distancing requirements.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Continued use of Schoology platform and other learning tools to maintain top-quality program through transitions that may occur throughout the year.

Blended learning model, including use of cameras in classrooms, will be utilized to provide synchronous learning (in real time) for students at home and on campus.

Large classes such as physical education and performing arts will be modified and/or relocated to ensure safety protocols are maintained.

Additional professional learning has been added for faculty over the summer, during pre-planning meetings, and throughout the 20-21 school year to maintain excellence in blended and distance classroom instruction.

CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS Athletic activities for Middle and Upper School students will continue with appropriate modifications in accordance with school, state, and FHSAA policies and protocols.

Athletic competitions are directed by the FHSAA and the School; communication with families will occur as information is made available.

Performances, plays and musicals will be adjusted or rescheduled in accordance with safety guidelines and requirements.

Field trips and special programs will be adjusted or postponed in accordance with safety guidelines and requirements.

Global programs abroad and exchange programs on campus will be postponed; updates will be made as information becomes available.

Re-Entry Plan RETURN TO SCHOOL AFTER ILLNESS

Current guidelines for students and employees on progression back to school after illness based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our partners at Mayo Clinic.

1 Experiencing COVID-like symptoms? People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported — ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness.

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19: • Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache • New loss of taste or smell • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Nausea or vomiting • Diarrhea

Known high-risk exposure to a laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 case? (Per the CDC, vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine after close contact with a COVID positive person, two weeks after receiving the full vaccination.)
