From orange to green The materials that Bolidt uses as a base for its applications are chosen carefully.

The materials to be used are selected for minimal impact on the environment, do not contain chemical thinners and are used up completely during application. Leftovers are kept to a minimum this way. Wastage is nil. In addition, Bolidt products have an extremely long life and after renovation or rebuilding, the materials can still be used or recycled. In the future, sustainable production will continue to be the subject of extensive research and processing the materials in an efficient and economical way will remain a focus of attention. An increasing number of Bolidt products have received the ecological synthetics hallmark, which offers a guarantee that the aspects of regulation, environmental impact of raw materials, products and leftovers, packaging, use, consumption and reuse of the materials and factors that lead to a burden on people, machines and their surroundings are paid optimum attention.

From durable to shockproof The synthetics made by Bolidt are applied in liquid form. This produces a seamless end product with a smooth and even surface or mass. So smooth and even that it is pore free and therefore hygienic, but non-slip at the same time. There are more reasons for using Bolidt synthetics. The material is maintenance friendly, durable, wear resistant and due to its elasticity it is shockproof and crack resistant. Quite a few basic properties. But there is more.

Fromtoextension renovation

From chemistry classroom to canteen There are special synthetics for special areas. A wet area has different requirements to an office space. A few examples. For chemistry classrooms, there is flooring that is resistant to corrosive solvents. For offices, classrooms or other spaces with computers, there is electrically conductive flooring. For the auditorium, there is a sound-damping synthetic. For an impressive entrance hall, there is flooring with special effects.

Incorporating a print or painting in the material is possible.

From then up to now In the 45 years of its existence, Bolidt has acquired extensive experience throughout the world in developing and applying various products for educational buildings and offices.

Primarily flooring but also coatings, wall and faรงade panels.

Bolidt started from a functional approach. The company was characterized by its durable, high-quality systems.

Functionality was later supplemented with aesthetics. At this moment, there is ample choice in both areas. That does not mean that development at Bolidt has come to a standstill.

From today to the future The materials that Bolidt uses, meet the emission requirements for schools and offices; the products contain 0% plasticizers and no phthalates or PVC. Points to consider per space

Entrance zone First impressions are formed in the entrance zone; this is the introduction to a building. In this area, colour, form and material are all-important. From a functional point of view, high wear resistance and good cleanability are imperative.

The stress load on the entrance zone is high and visitors bring in dirt from outside.

Offices Sound insulation, design and character are factors that play an important part in offices. Spaces should be well laid out and have a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Because chairs are moved around constantly, high-quality flooring is important. The floor should also be properly cleanable.

Hallways Hallways are the arteries of educational establishments and offices. Every day, they lead hundreds of students, teachers and/or staff members from one space to another. Wear resistance is the most important quality that a floor in this area should have. Besides, the material should be sound attenuating and easy to clean. Smooth transitions to the adjacent rooms are required for full accessibility. The unity of appearance shared with these spaces has a calming and orderly effect.

Classrooms Classrooms are occupied by a different group of pupils or students nearly every hour. The flooring in this space has to be resistant to intensive foot traffic. But also to chairs being moved and objects being dropped. In addition, the material should preferably be sound-attenuating and easy to clean.

A sense of space and overview creates the necessary calm environment.

Laboratory / Practical rooms These spaces require functional flooring. Floors in handicraft rooms should be suitable for hard wear, flooring in laboratory rooms needs to be resistant to chemicals and in computer rooms statically conductive flooring is advisable. In addition, good cleanability is required for all rooms.

Recreation rooms / Canteen The recreation rooms and the canteen are places for relaxation. This should also be reflected in the interior. The flooring plays a defining role in the overall picture; the choice of colour and material has a great impact. As well as aesthetic, the flooring needs to be functional. Hygiene is especially important in a canteen; the floor should be properly cleanable and resistant to caustic cleaning products.

Washing-up room / Kitchen Kitchens are subject to strict requirements regarding hygiene. It is evident that food should be handled safely. A floor that is seamless, pore-free and easy to clean is essential in a kitchen environment. It should be possible to apply coved floor to wall joints. In addition, the floor has to be resistant to busy foot traffic and provide grip in wet conditions.

Changing rooms, toilets and showers Flooring in changing rooms, toilets and showers has to be resistant to intensive use. Hygiene is an important issue as well. Right angles or sharp corners that are likely to gather dirt should be prevented as much as possible. For this reason, the floor to wall finish junction needs to be rounded and seamless.

This can be realized through the on-site construction of a concave transition. An anti-mould wall coating that is flexible and waterproof provides additional protection.

Sports facilities (indoor & outdoor) Floors for indoor sports are subject to different requirements from those for outdoor sports. Indoors, a multifunctional sports flooring that is suitable for games, ball sports and gymnastics is required. A point elastic floor will perform best here. Outdoors, it is desirable to have a weatherproof floor that preferably is pervious to water, spikeproof and sufficiently sound and shock absorbent. This will provide optimal sporting comfort.

Library The library should provide an atmosphere of peace and quiet. A sound-damping floor contributes to this. In addition, the flooring needs to be wear resistant because of the intensive foot traffic and it should be properly cleanable to prevent dust build up.

Bicycle parking Bicycle parking facilities need to look clean, tidy and bright. The floor finish plays an important part here; it has to be easy to clean and durable. An anti-slip surface is advisable given that dirt and moisture is often brought in from outside.

Parking deck A parking deck, especially the top level of a car park building, is exposed to weather influences and a heavy traffic load. This calls for a non-skid, wear-resistant finish that also contributes to waterproofing.

A long life, little maintenance and an acceptable weight are vital. In addition, surveyability, accessibility and clear signposting are important.

Roof car park Contrary to a parking deck, a roof car park is built on top of functional levels such as offices, classrooms or technical spaces. Besides non-skid and waterproof, a roof finish needs to be sound and heat insulating.

Car park/ Ramps For a car park it is important that it is accessible, light and has a friendly atmosphere. The surface needs to be wear resistant, seamless and resistant to oil and lubricants. Signposting and lining are also important. Separate parking spaces are advisable.

The ramps require an extremely wear-resistant, non-skid finish, possibly with built-in heating. This offers safety and accessibility in all weather conditions.

Important qualities

Wear resistance and durability Floors in educational buildings and offices have to endure a lot of wear and tear. Foot traffic is heavy, tables and chairs are moved, there is eating, spilling and cleaning. From a functional point of view it is essential that the floor finish can withstand such stress.

Damage to the floor is undesirable because it makes proper cleaning more difficult. A durable floor additionally requires little maintenance and is economically attractive.

In the field of wear resistance, Bolidt has proven itself for 45 years. Seamless flooring is applied successfully in industry and shipbuilding, sectors in which loads are extremely high. The seamless construction and the great strength of the material guarantee a long life and a perfect condition.

Appearance and design Spaces derive a large part of their atmosphere and appearance from their flooring. The colour scheme, design and texture codetermine the perception of a room. This perception plays an increasingly important role in the design of educational buildings and offices. The right floor can have a positive influence on the state of mind and concentration levels of students and staff.

Hygiene Because educational buildings and offices are used intensively, proper hygiene is of major importance. A clean floor also contributes to a pleasant atmosphere. A floor that can be cleaned easily and properly is therefore desirable.

Bolidt has developed seamless flooring systems that make it impossible for bacterial germs to multiply. The absence of awkward edges, cracks and corners provides a surface that can be properly cleaned. Bolidt flooring is not only seamless, but also pore-free. This means that dirt cannot settle in the surface, which at the same time is resistant to (hot) drinks, various chemicals and cleansing agents. Bolidt flooring guarantees optimal hygiene.

Electric conductivity The flooring in various spaces within educational buildings and offices has to meet requirements regarding electrical resistance. This is to prevent delicate electronic equipment from being affected or put out of action due to uncontrolled voltage discharge. The use of equipment that is vulnerable to ESD (Electro Static Discharge) is particularly prevalent in computer rooms.

Bolidt has developed electrically conductive floor finishes for these spaces. These finishes have the same qualities as the other Bolidtop systems and, in addition, they offer good electric conductivity. Bolidtop Stato flooring conducts without a complicated connection to an earthing system. Static electricity is discharged in a controlled way or its generation is prevented by a very special floor structure, through which the floor is in direct contact with the structural cement-bound subfloor.

Flexibility Educational buildings and offices periodically undergo physical changes. When renovations take place, it is important that floors can be extended or repaired quickly and easily without visible or tangible traces. There may also be cases where only a new appearance of the floor is desired. Bolidt has flooring systems that enable to do this quickly and economically.

The Bolidtop flooring line consists of solvent-free, quick-drying components that are sealed with a permanent, durable layer. This sealing layer can be replaced quickly and odourlessly. In this way, repairs and possible differences in colour can disappear under the new layer and a beautiful ‘new’ floor is ready for use within a short period of time. No other flooring material offers the possibility to realize such a renovation or ‘redressing’ so quickly, easily and economically.

Bolicoat 50 PF and 50 RF These coating systems are applied directly onto concrete and are suitable as a colourful, wearresistant and uniformly looking finish. Environmentally friendly due to the use of waterborne resins.

Short setting and drying time. Bolicoat 50 RF provides a surface with a higher level of anti-slip.

Bolidtop 200 RF This durable floor coating has a special anti-slip finish. It gives spaces a bright, fresh atmosphere.

The system is based on solvent-free, two-component synthetic resins that ensure exceptional wear resistance.

Bolidtop 525 This comfortable, walk-friendly floor finish creates surveyability through its matt surface and uniform colour scheme. Its viscous-elastic properties produce high wear resistance and a reduction in contact noise. Due to the versatility in colour options, this finish can always be fitted in with the architect’s aesthetic wishes.

Bolidtop 525 Combi - new Continued development on the Bolidtop 525 has produced this system with excellent acoustic properties. Its viscous-elastic character makes it highly wear resistant. This floor finish is comfortable, pleasant to walk on and always aesthetically compatible due to the wide range of available colours.

Bolidtop 525 Deco This flow-applied floor finish provides spaces with a fresh look by the self-selected, unique combination of sparingly sprinkled flakes and a principal colour on the one hand, and the seamless character on the other. This viscous-elastic system is scratch and wear resistant, makes for comfortable walking and reduces contact noise.

Bolidtop Stato 525 (Deco) The comfortable, walk-friendly flooring system that is ESD safe. Its viscous-elastic quality reduces contact noise. Striking because of its smoothness. Versatile in its colour options and fresh looking with the colourful Bolidt Decoflakes that are optionally available.

Bolidtop 525 TF Continued development on the Bolidtop 525 has produced this system, which has a special texture that is pleasant to walk on, even barefoot. This floor finish is comfortable and always aesthetically compatible due to a wide range of available colours. Seamless concave transitions to the walls make the system waterproof and also offer optimal hygiene.

Bolidtop 700 This solid and aesthetically sound floor finish system is characterized by its high impact and shock resistance. The mechanically compacted flooring has a terrazzo look and can withstand very heavy loads. The slightly antiskid surface contributes to a safe working environment.

Boligrip 1250 This viscous-elastic synthetic wearing course is ideal for heavier (car) traffic because of its balanced layer thickness. It offers a selection of scatter materials that determine its appearance and its ultimate grip. Can be combined with a crack-bridging Boliflex membrane or Boligrip 1250 HR heating system.

Bolidtop Sensation The comfortable floor finish system that adds to a pleasant atmosphere by nearly endless possibilities in floor design for the architect. Applied on site with hard or soft lines. An abundance of striking colours and patterns are available for you to combine to taste.

Bolidtop FiftyFifty The modern and comfortable flooring system that livens up a space through the combination of two closely related colours. This viscous-elastic system is scratch and wear resistant, comfortable to walk on and reduces contact noise.

Bolidtop Jewel - new The mother-of-pearl effect in this comfortable floor finish system gives a refreshing twist to the atmosphere of a space. Striking and vivid colours seem to change time and again.

Bolidtop Print - new The flooring system, in which printed (photographic) images are seamlessly incorporated. The clearness of this floor finish brings out the best in any picture. High wear and scratch resistance are characteristic of this floor finish system.

Bolidtan PU/R 7+2 This elastically adjusted multifunctional indoor sports flooring is characterized by excellent sports-technical properties. The strong sandwich system is suited for all indoor sports and events.

The integrated 7 mm thick rubber mat determines the elasticity.

Bolidtop Select Soft The decorative flooring system that mixes a terrazzo-like appearance with superior user comfort.

Boligrip 1250 HR This functional synthetic system incorporates a grid with electric heating wires, so that snow or ice formation is prevented. Highly suitable as a wearing course on inclines. The system is extremely non-slip; there is a range of scatter materials to choose from.
