The International Student Association (ISA) provides opportunities for friendship-building between US and international students. ISA plans student trips, sponsors extra-curricular activities, helps international students become aware of their rights and responsibilities as students of Boise State University, and works to overcome and prevent crosscultural misunderstandings within the community. International Student Center provides support in the areas of immigration, academics, cross-cultural challenges, and adjustment to life at Boise State. The office also informs you of immigration changes, policies, and procedures. The staff plans activities to orient you to the community, serves as an advocate, and acts as a liaison between students, faculty, staff and community members. The office works closely with community volunteers who provide support and opportunities for international students.

Financial Assistance You are encouraged to apply for all scholarships and graduate assistantships available. All awards are competitive; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a scholarship will be awarded. Scholarships and graduate assistantships are available only for students starting in the Fall semester (August start). To be eligible, you must have the equivalent of a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.00 and submit all admission materials to the International Admissions Office by February 15 for priority consideration. The minimum value of a scholarship is approximately $9,500. Conditional Admission Boise State offers conditional undergraduate admission to students who have not obtained the minimum TOEFL or IELTS English proficiency score for full-time admission. To be considered you must be admitted to the Intensive English Program and submit the undergraduate application packet to the International Admissions office. INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM Boise State’s Intensive English Program (IEP) offers courses to help you improve your English language skills. The program includes reading, writing, grammar, speaking and listening courses in five levels, plus fun cultural activities and elective courses. The IEP also offers a Language Bridge Program if you are ready to take some undergraduate university courses along with your language courses. To participate, you must satisfactorily complete at least 8 weeks in the IEP, submit an undergraduate application packet to the International Admissions Office, and score at least 46 on the TOEFL iBT, (450 PBT) or 4.5 on the IELTS in addition to meeting other IEP requirements.
