Welcome to this year’s Stars Of The Valley Sale. To say that things have
changed since last year’s sale would be an understatement! COVID-19 has changed many lives and affected the planning of many events. There have been many sales throughout the country that have had to make adjustments to make sure everyone stays safe. The decision to make this year’s sale a virtual online sale was the only prudent and responsible thing to do. The one thing that has not changed is the commitment of each of our consignors to offer the top animals from their programs. The goal of these consignors is to provide the very best genetics that will make this sale one that you don’t want to miss. As you analyze the consignments in this catalog, you will notice the quality of the offering. Genetics that work in the show ring and also will make long lasting females that you will build programs around. Since this is an online sale, I encourage you to take the time to arrange a farm visit with the consignors to look not only at the consignments but also their dams and programs that back these animals. We are fortunate to partner with the Bohrson Marketing Services team again this year and they have toured the cattle and would be more than happy to assist you with any of your questions. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will
allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects
your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

Last year was our first year associated with this progressive group and it was a pleasure to build and grow this sale moving forward as we are excited to offer the best group in 2020. We are so impressed with the breeders behind this sale and their commitment to “sell the ones that hurt to sell” in order to bring the very best to town and show the industry the strengths of their programs. As Darryl toured this summer he continually reported that the Stars Of The Valley Sale was shaping up to be one of the deepest offering of the sale season with the breeders offering a stacked line-up. The 2020 Sale will have a new format as an online closeout at 7PM and this is a one year plan due to the crowd restrictions we are facing. Our calf entry belongs to our grandson. He is a great help for us (does all the halter breaking) and likes black cattle. He took the dam of this calf to town a couple of times last year and got the fever. She is one of our best calves. Sales Management assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale. breeders guarantee Cows represented as being “pregnancy tested safe” have been examined and declared safe in calf by a licensed veterinarian and will be accompanied by a veterinarian’s certificate to this effect. They are considered breeders without further guarantee. Cows and heifers represented as “bred”are not guaranteed safe in calf, but they and open heifers selling as individual lots are guaranteed as breeders. No guarantee shall apply to suckling calves. In the event a female is claimed to be a non-breeder and after having been bred regularily to a bull known to be a breeder and after having been treated by a licensed veterinarian, the matter must be reported in writing to the seller within six months of the sale date. For heifers under twelve months of age who were purchased as single lots and who fail to conceive to the service of a bull known to be a breeder, the matter must be reported to the seller before the heifer reaches eighteen months of age. The seller shall have six additional months in which to prove any such female a breeder and may use any registered bull of the breed available to him. Any female returned will be at the purchaser’s risk. No guarantee is given that a pregnant female will deliver live calves, nor that
she will carry calves to full term, nor that the calf will not be mummified. The seller is not repsonsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold. Nor for sickness not apparent at sale time. settlements Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as feed, AI signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal is a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer will be guaranteed a satisfactory replacement F.O.B. ranch or location or original or a refund of the purchase price paid F.O.B. selling point. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.
