Welcome to the 2022 Shiloh Cattle Company “Trendsetter” Bull & Replacement Heifer Sale.

Another trip around the Sun and once again we were all faced with a number of challenges in our world, but the agricultural community proved itself impressively resilient.

In 2021, Canadian cattle ranchers and farmers managed to persevere and overcome devastating drought and wildfire conditions across western Canada. Many ranchers have found themselves developing some very creative options to get their cattle fed and watered throughout the summer and fall and into the new year. On a more positive note, cattle prices remained relatively strong creating some much needed optimism in the industry, despite the hardships.

We were pleased to see all of the major cattle shows go on as planned, allowing cattle producers to get out and see what is happening in all of the major breeds that were on display at this past year’s events.

Back here at the Ranch, we spent most of the summer and fall close to home, watching this year’s offering of bulls and replacement heifers developing alongside their Dams. We have an impressive selection of yearling Black and Red Angus bulls on offer at this year’s sale, alongside many of their female siblings, out of our strongest Sire Group to date. We pride ourselves on paying close attention to important traits such as foot and udder structure, disposition, and calving ease, balanced with performance. We also believe in a feeding program that reflects longevity in our cattle program, so that our livestock will still perform well under drought and hard grass conditions, as we experienced in 2021. Calves are expected to develop naturally on their Dams and are never creep fed. The sale bulls and heifers have been fed a hay/green feed/straw mix, as well as pail fed a pellet ration based on 1% of their body weight to promote a natural rate of development. The entire herd is on the Sweetpro mineral supplement program year round. Sweetpro is a whole herd health program promoting a healthier hoof, healthier rumen, and higher fertility for faster breed back and higher conception rates.

Sale day is Saturday, March 26th at the Ranch. All of the sale bulls and heifers will be on display just outside the sale barn that morning, starting at 10:00 AM , but please feel free to contact us anytime prior to sale day to come by to view the sale pens. We would be more than happy to show you around. This year’s sale starts at 12:30 PM, with Steak Dinner being served from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Hospitality will be on offer before and after the sale. Plan to hang around after the sale. This year we will once again be hosting our post sale Wine & Cheese / Beer & Sausage Social. TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable in Canadian funds unless previous arrangements have been with individual consigners. Settlement prior to any cattle released.As soon as an animal is sold, it becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. Any animal remaining at Shiloh Cattle Company must be Insured. Livestock coverage will be available from the clerk’s desk on sale day.

CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRY: Certificate of registry dually transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each registered animal after complete and full payment has been made.

IDENTIFICATION: Each animal will carry a CCIA digital frequency tag as well as a ear tag.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE: All cattle are sound and right to sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of an unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Any complaints regarding fertility of any animal in the sale shall be directed to the breeder. No incidental expense such as feed, veterinarian charges, interest, etc., will be charged by either party.Under no circumstances shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price paid for the bull.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of any who attend the sale, neither the sales management, the sponsoring association nor any owner assumes responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.

LIABILITY: Purchasers must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representation made hereafter.

DISPUTES: In the case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from which the auctioneer accepted the last bid.
