Welcome to the 2024 Shiloh Cattle Company “Trendsetter” Bull & Replacement Heifer Sale. We have reached several milestones here at the ranch in the past year. This will be our 10th annual bull sale here at the Ranch and our 15th year breeding Angus cattle. As well, it has been 115 years since the ranch was Homesteaded back in 1909. We welcome you to join us sale day, March 23rd, to help us celebrate these achievements. With a multitude of choices out there, we sincerely appreciate your consideration on purchasing your next Herd Sire or Replacement Heifer(s) here at Shiloh Cattle Company. Your confidence in our breeding program means great deal to us. Our offering this year expresses, beyond a doubt, what we have been striving for in our breeding program. Exceptionally honest Angus cattle that can perform under drought and hard grass conditions. They are sound of foot and easy fleshing, while still maintaining the calving ease and maternal traits the Angus breed is renowned for. We believe a balanced feed ration reflects in the longevity of our cattle. Calves are expected to develop naturally alongside their Dams. We do not creep feed. Once weaned, our sale bull and replacement heifer pens are fed a Hay/Green Feed/Pea Straw mix. As well, We feed a 14% protein pellet supplied by Country Junction Feeds. Our programs ration is based on 1% of body weight, promoting a natural and healthy rate of development. The entire Purebred and Commercial herds are also on the Sweetpro Mineral Supplement Program ( SMSP ). Sweetpro is a whole herd health program. Their products promote a healthier hoof and rumen and boosts fertility for faster breed back and higher conception rates. We have noticed all of these benefits in our cow herd since implementing the Sweetpro product line. Sale Day is Saturday, March 23rd, at the Ranch. All of the sale bulls & heifers will be penned and on display just outside the sale barn that morning, starting at 10:00 AM. Please feel free to contact us anytime prior to sale day to come by and view the sale pens and cow herd. We would be happy to show you around. We will also be hosting a Tailgate Party on Sunday, March 17th down at the sale pens one week prior to this year’s Sale. Join us for a Bon Fire & view the sale animals on offer. Did you ever wonder how we came up with the Bull Sale’s name? Claude Gauvin was 46 when he died suddenly on September 27, 2011. A native of Rimouski, Quebec, he had long made his home in Strathmore and had recently moved to Chestermere. Leaving his unmistakable mark on Strathmore, Claude was the co-founder and President of Trendsetter Homes which built and helped hundreds of people achieve their dreams of owning a beautiful home. He had a heart of gold. As a good friend of ours, he would come to the ranch and help with branding, moving cattle or, as a Journeyman Electrician, do electrical jobs like wiring our garage. He was our biggest supporter and always encouraged us to get better and to be brave enough to promote and improve operations. He was truly our number 1 supporter. We honoured his memory by naming our sale the Trendsetter Bull and Select Replacement Heifer Sale.

Hustler is a performance driven sire that maintains a comfortable degree of calving ease. We purchased and walked him here at the ranch for 5 year’s, using him on both replacement heifers and mature cows. Although he is no longer here, we brought back his genetics in our AI program due to requests from repeat customers, and we are sure glad we did.

This group of heifers was selected from a group of 300 heifers. Ted let Shiloh Cattle Company have first pick before selecting heifers for them selves. There will be packages of reds, blacks and red baldy heifers. These are all one iron heifers that have been under the Merck Animal Health program.

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable in Canadian funds unless previous arrangements have been with individual consigners. Settlement prior to any cattle released.As soon as an animal is sold, it becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. Any animal remaining at Shiloh Cattle Company must be Insured. Livestock coverage will be available from the clerk’s desk on sale day. CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRY: Certificate of registry dually transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each registered animal after complete and full payment has been made. IDENTIFICATION: Each animal will carry a CCIA digital frequency tag as well as a ear tag. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: All cattle are sound and right to sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of an unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Any complaints regarding fertility of any animal in the sale shall be directed to the breeder. No incidental expense such as feed, veterinarian charges, interest, etc., will be charged by either party.Under no circumstances shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price paid for the bull. ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of any who attend the sale, neither the sales management, the sponsoring association nor any owner assumes responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. LIABILITY: Purchasers must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representation made hereafter.
