OWELCOME WELCOME

RiverfrontAngus Ranch Bohrson Marketing
n behalf of our family, Rachele and I would like to invite and welcome everyone to our 7th Annual Bull Sale on March 29,2024. It is once again located at the ranch, 5 miles west of Medicine Hat, AB. We look forward to seeing and visiting with everyone on sale day, but as always encourage people to come out and look at the cattle beforehand. We appreciate people taking the time to come out and see what things all are about. We would be proud to show you around and answer any questions you may have. There is a no better industry that we would want to be a part of, and lots of that has to do with the people that are involved. Not only do we feel we have the best customers, we are fortunate to have a great sale staff as well. The Bohrson Marketing team is as professional and knowledgeable as it gets and we are excited to once again have them back. If you are unable to make the sale or have questions about the cattle, feel free to contact anyone of them as well. The sale will once again be broadcasted on DLMS for those interested in that route.
I hate to say it but it definitely is true this year that this would be our best and most consistent set of bulls we have put together. There are a couple bigger sire groups that provide uniformity and ability to put half brothers together. This would be the first year of the Emerald Sire group and we are really excited about him and the future with him in. We are really excited about the females he produces, but are overwhelmed with the quality of the bulls. They are super stylish, heavy, hairy , and the right kind. The Triumph and Three Rivers bulls are also very good as a group and I think they will serve our customers well. There is a big focus on phenotype in these cattle, foot quality, and the ability to last. In our eyes, they are not overfed and are ready to go out and work.
It has been a little bit of a whirlwind year, with many areas desperate for moisture. There has been many stories of feed and grass shortages, with many cow numbers being reduced. On the other hand, Calves were at a premium this fall, and the market seems to be holding on and looks good for the next few years. Obviously, Medicine Hat was in the heart of the drought, with very little moisture all spring and summer, and above average temps, making it really tough on pasture conditions. With that being said, our cows performed well, with weaning weights right up there and our preg check results being as good as they ever have. These cattle had it tough, having to travel rough terrain for grass and water.
We encourage everyone to come out anytime between now and sale to have a look at the bulls and their dams. We are located just 5 miles west of Medicine Hat and are easy to get to you. We would love to have a visit. The videos will be posted on DLMS before the sale and encourage people to view them. We will do everything in our power to make it a good experience for you and will stand behind these bulls 100%. We would like to thank all of past customers and friends that have helped us get to this point. It is truly rewarding to get to work with some of the best people in the industry and have so many repeat customers return each year.
Any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Ashton and RacheleHigh quality cattle backed by even better people is what comes to mind when we think about Riverfront Angus. The Robertson family are some of the very best people we have the honor to work with each and every season. They are truly some of the most genuine, hard working and dedicated people in the industry and if you’ve never met them, we encourage you to as we know you’ll agree.
We are loaded for bear in the 2024 sale offering and it truly is an exceptional pen of bulls with so much quality throughout. They are owners on the breed leading Emerald bull who does so much right and is the hottest thing going as the sons are incredible and the daughters are to die for. The Riverfront set of Emeralds are worth the drive to check out because they are the real deal and backed behind a cow herd that is one of the very best in the industry … big statement, sure, but once you see them you’ll understand. This bull pen is stacked with quality as the Triumph bulls are impressive and absolutely clicked with this cowherd and are among the very best we have seen this spring with so much quality throughout. The Three Rivers offer up power and payweight in a different twist of pedigree and have been utilized with success throughout the industry. Future 8055, Impulse and Milestone are among the walking bulls at Riverfront and what a stacked group of bull power they have obtained. We are excited about this set of bulls for a good reason and it is one of the most memorable and impressive sets of bulls we viewed in 2024.
This family program is an ideal place to source your next herd bull because the cattle are deep in quality and the Robertson’s will fully stand behind them. We encourage you to visit with them on this group of bulls and don’t forget about the impressive commercial heifers also on offer as they are extremely nice. Ourselves at BMS would be excited to work with you if you can’t attend and represent your needs in a professional manner. We do hope you can make it sale day as the cattle will impress, the hospitality is great and the people behind Riverfront are the right kind to work with, see you on sale day!

It is again a pleasure to be working with the progressive and hardworking folks at Riverfront Angus Ranch. Ashton and family take great pride in raising angus genetics and the quality of bulls on offer continues to increase every year. There is a very uniform group on offer for the 6th annual sale.
The bulls are slowly developed on a forage-based, total mixed ration that is balanced to maximize the bull’s genetic potential and to promote lean muscle growth, enhancing the longevity of the bulls. It is important that rumen health stays a priority throughout every stage of the bull’s development, therefore, the diet utilizes a chelated mineral package to enhance the bull’s immunity and complement the bull’s growth patterns as they develop. The Riverfront cowherd utilizes a chelated mineral package throughout the year which is essential to the overall health and longevity of the sale bulls on offer. The nutrition and development of the bulls along with the entire cow herd is continually being monitored to meet environmental and season conditions to compliment the animal’s overall health.
If you have any questions about the nutrition or sale bulls, please feel free to contact me.
Best of luck to the Riverfront Angus Ranch crew on sale day!

The lead off bull out of a really exciting group of Emerald Calves. We were fortunate to be a part of the Emerald group and think he will play a big role in our herd in the future. He stamps his calves with an extreme amount of phenotype, performance, and overall quality. The 921 Female is quickly rising to the top as one of our favorites. Her first calf was the lot 1 bull in our 2022 Bull Sale. Her 2nd calf is one of the top yearling heifers we have and was shown successfully this summer. 318 himself has as much look as any bull in the pen. He is deep bodied, thick made, and is very expressive in his muscle shape. A really exciting pedigree combining new and exciting genetics and also some of the most proven in recent years.

He posted one of the bigger weaning weights and has continued on since being on feed. Another bull stamped like his sire with added look and presence. 308 is the natural calf off our donor cow Brooking Primrose 4020. We couldn’t be happier the job she did raising this guy @ 9 years old and bred back and calved early in January again this year. She is a big bodied cow, with a great udder and outstanding feet. Her first daughter was a highlight for us selling to KCH Cattle Co for $26000. Another daughter looks to be a front runner for the kids to take out this summer.

Lot 3 is a real soggy made, big topped, big hipped, overall very solid bull. I think it would be hard to go wrong with a bull like this considering the real world qualities he possesses. He may be the thickest haired bull in the pen and stands solid on all 4 corners. He has only picked up gears since weaning and seems to be getting better and better every day. The dam is just as solid and quietly is getting it done. She had a feature bull last year selling to Code Ranches, and has a daughter who would be the dam to the good lot 21 bull. The grandam 472F was our absolute favourite cow we purchased from Ebon Hill Angus. She was a model cow and a future donor cow, however we lost her at a really young age, but managed to keep a couple of daughters that have done a great job. A Maternal Sister to 612 would have weaned off the heaviest heifer calf of the 2023 crop, which also was an Emerald.

A maternal sister to 712 will enter the donor pen this year and we are very excited about her future. These Emerald sons are so consistent, and all have such character and herd bull presence. Lot 4 will be another to have marked down as he has what it takes to put a pen of heavy steers together and a replacement pen 2nd to none.

Her first calf sold as the lot 1 and high selling bull last year to Rafter T Ranches. It looks promising when a 3 year old raises feature bulls in her first 2 tries. A maternal sister entered the donor pen last year and produced probably the best female to ever walk the pastures here. 335 has a real desirable birthweight, above average performance, and back by as consistent cow family as we have.
MATERNAL BROTHER RFA 222K
A pair of brothers that exhibit a little more growth and size in the Emerald sire group. You have to appreciate the look these 2 present. Great haired, length of spine, and big solid feet and not to mention above average performance. Their Silver Lining dam is a hardworking cow that comes from the great Tibbie cow family at Hamilton Farms. The Grand dam was around for many years and we have retained many daughters, all which wean a heavy calf each year.

We did manage to flush her to Emerald in the spring and she gave us a bunch of embryos that are hitting the ground right now. There probably hasn’t been another cow in our herd that has produced so many good daughters. She was designated a Premier Dam with Canadian Angus. She was showed successfully the last couple years, and always received positive comments from other exhibitors. She has put numerous bulls through the sale including a feature to Weiss Ranching and would also be the granddam to lot 16.

These Bank Note sons are really consistent and are all solid, no holes, types of bulls. A Bank Note X Density Combination should also result in some pretty predictable cattle. 346 is a smoother made son who’s nice through his shoulder, neck , and head. His dam is an attractive female, with outstanding feet, and typical of the density daughters.

The last of this sire group and out of a cow who had a feature bull in a past sale to Joe Waldner. 804 is a real nice Upward daughter, with a great udder and ideal body type. 356 is deep chested, long spined, and is attractive made.

We bought the Impulse bull for his calving ease and exceptional foot quality. At 5 years of age, his feet are phenomenal, he breeds consistent, and has explosive muscle shape. They are moderate made and full of character. 342 is a calving ease deluxe who exemplifies his sire. He is very balanced and always grabs your attention.

Lot 29 is a bull with lots of look and once again similar to his sire. 340 is really soggy, thick made and big hipped. He has an abundance of hair, and ample bone. His Dam is a Renovation grand daughter with a great udder and a maternal look. The Grandam 100C is still around and still looks very impressive at 9 years of age.

366 would be the first son to sell from our Milestone sire. We purchased Milestone with our friends Westway Farms as the high selling Angus bull from Wilbar Cattle Co. He is an impressive calving ease bull backed by really productive cows. We have been really happy how he is calving on heifers and will have a good size group of calves for next year. The 255F cow is really impressive to see. She is very good uddered, great footed and is real easy doing. Another Son sold to Erwin Schlenker Farms. Lot 30 will be one of the better calving ease bulls in the sale, having the appropriate build through his shoulder and head.

Lot 31 is another calving ease bull and would be the youngest bull in the sale. We are excited about the Milestone bull and feel he will offer a lot for our customers. The 825 female is very intriguing and looks good all year round. She was a result of some Embryos we purchased and is back by the awesome Rose 214X Cow that resided at Brooking. She is the type of cow you couldn’t have enough of.

339 came to us in dam from a purchase in the Bandura Dispersal. 129J is a President daughter with an outstanding udder. The Safe Deposit cattle would be outcross and known for their calving ease. Look for Lot 32 to use on heifers and add some style to his calf crop.

Lot 33 is another in dam purchase that came from the great Poplar Meadows Dispersal. The 30J female was our pick of all the bred heifers that day and were really excited to get her. She is unique in her pedigree and we are looking forward to her future. She is a pretty made female, with both a great foot and udder. The Denver bull is a calving ease son with a loaded pedigree as well. 367 is just a March calf and seems to be getting better and better as the days goes on. If you have heifers to breed, a 74lb birthweight on this guy will get the job done. Owned with Westway Farms.

331 also came from the Bandura dispersal and is sire buy the up and coming American Made. Lot 34 is one of the deepest and soggiest bulls in the pen. He was near the top in regards to weaning weight and also yearling weight. He is a real long spined bull, who travels well and will sire some heavy steers in the fall.

She is sired by the famous female maker Bar-E-L Natural Law and would actually be a full Sib to the popular PM Executive Decision. 90J was selected for her foot and udder quality and had bred back and calved early once again. 341 is smooth made, has extra length, and is structurally correct, backed by a 74 lb birthweight.

371 is something a little different for us. A few years back we seen a pair of bulls win the Oyen Beef Expo Pen Show. They happened to be ½ blood Sim Angus calves. We ended purchasing our pick of those 2 bulls for use on our commercial cows. With our commercial cow numbers depleting and after his use the last few years we decided to run him with some registered cows to clean up. As a result we have this March calf who’s as solid as any. Hes hairy, big boned, big topped, and has a lot of shape to him for such a young calf. His dam is has put 2 other bulls through the sale that have sold well to Erwin Schlenker Farms and Buster and Caleb Klassen.
