Welcome

The Rainbow River program is one of the most progressive and impressive operations actively involved in the Simmental industry as Jennilee’s extreme attention to detail and critical eye for great cattle never goes unnoticed. Over the past number of years they have assembled one of most elite sets of bulls for their annual bull sale and we feel the 21 herd bull prospects is the deepest in quality and most exciting from a genetic standpoint as Jennilee and Dustin have put together. 2021 was a struggle for many cow/calf operations with the extreme drought conditions ranchers were forced to work through. When we had the opportunity to tour the Rainbow River cow herd on grass (or lack there of) this summer, we were impressed with the do-ability and flesh these cattle were able to maintain through the heat and drought. These cattle are bred and raised for the harshest conditions from drought to arctic like temps in the winter (I’ve been there before when its -45). Not only are these cattle easy doing an the type to thrive and transition through different climates, they are backed by some of the most elite genetics available in the livestock industry. Jennilee has spared absolutely no expense when it comes to sourcing the best possible donor females, embryos, semen packs and herd bulls, to help elevate her program, ultimately enhancing the calf crops of her loyal customers. The 2022 sale offering sees rugged, soft made, easy doing Simmental beef bulls on trial that are truly bred and raised for todays commercial market place. The likes of Tycoon, Dynasty, Walk This Way, Betts, Approval, Lieutenant, Kill Switch and Proclamation are represented via Ai to name a few and are some of the most proven sires within the industry. The proven and great walking sire of RF Impact is still heavily influenced here with some direct sons and many daughters with sons in the sale! The dams behind these sale bulls are the type you truly wish to have a herd of, easy doing, bid bodied females that excel in udder quality and foot structure. We believe when it comes to donor females working in one operation, Jennilee and Dustin truly have some of the greats! We really encourage you to reach out to Jennilee and discuss the bulls on offer and your own operation to figure out some of your herd bull needs. If for some reason you are unable to make it to the sale, feel free to reach out to any of us at BMS and we would be glad to help assist you in sourcing a herd bull via our free, highly trusted order buying service. Sincerely, The Bohrson Marketing Team

As I sit down to write this welcome, trying to find my words, I start reflecting back on the past year since these bulls were born. When I think back, my mind is dominated with images of the brown, barren pasture literally crawling with grasshoppers, the smoky skies, the spindly, crispy brown grass that crunched beneath my feet, the dugouts receding rapidly (by the foot) each week. I see the cows and calves doing so much walking in search of more palatable grass, I see open mouth panting from it being so damn hot. I see cracks in the pasture several inches wide, I see the cows and calves walking across the grass in the middle of a paddock in a grey plume of dust. I see myself on my ATV squinting my eyes and pressing my mouth tightly shut to keep as much dust out as possible, and to try and prevent the grasshoppers from taking my eyes out. I see the bull calf pairs running across the paddock towards me as soon as they would hear me coming, following me like velcro, or lined up against the hot wire bawling at me, expecting me to lead them to greener grass because what they were eating was dead, dry and sparse. I remember feeling guilty that I had nothing better to offer them, and the sinking feeling knowing there was no rain in the forecast to provide any relief. I remember walking through the paddocks ahead of the cattle, trying to estimate how much grass I had left to offer them and wondering what my next move would be if the rains didn’t come. I remember the day that I moved the bull calf pairs into their last paddock of grass. It was August 3. They had grazed it once early in the spring and were eating the regrowth. It didn’t look like regrowth at all. And the remaining three paddocks after that, well, nothing had regrown. That meant we were totally out of grass once they polished off those 20 acres. In the meantime, the cows were losing condition quickly. They weren’t milking like they should and the bull calves were starting to go backwards with their development. It was at that time that we made a plan and executed it. We weaned a month earlier than we normally would have. We culled hard. We sold a pack of bred cows and open heifers to Crooked Creek Farms in Ontario (thank you guys!). Then twenty cows went on the trailer along with all of our steers and cull heifer calves. Those steers included bulls that we should have developed for this sale, but the writing was on the wall earlier in July and we were faced with a decision to make at that time. Knowing that our feed supply was going to be a fraction of normal, we castrated all of our younger bulls, leaving only three to develop as spares. Up to that point, we only had a season long rainfall of 2 and 2/10”, all in one or two-tenth increments, and there still was no promise of rain in the 14-day forecast. Then, on August 9, suddenly the forecast changed. Two and 8/10” of rain fell in 24 hours. Over the next two weeks, we received a total of 5 and 7/10” of rain. That rain was a game changer. After weaning, we had hauled the dams of the bull calves west to our heifer pasture because the home quarter was finished. At the beginning of August, we

didn’t think we had enough grass to carry our cow herd until September 1. But thanks to those rains, we miraculously grazed until Remembrance Day. The grass turned so green it was almost neon. I had never seen grass so green in September before. The cows gained weight with being dry so early in the season. The bull calves were put onto some homegrown hay, and also some silage that we had purchased. Something in that purchased feed wasn’t agreeing with the bulls and they weren’t developing in the way that they should have been. I spent September and the first week of October trying to troubleshoot the issue, offering different feeds and starting them on different grower rations, but the bulls lost a lot of ground with their development during that time and we’ve been playing catch up ever since. You will notice as you read through the catalogue that our offering is fairly small, and our WW and YW are not what they normally would be. Now you know the reasons why. We have done a good job feeding our custom bull ration over the last few months in such a way that we did manage to catch the bulls up a fair bit without pushing them too hard, and we will continue to develop them carefully until sale day. It means a different feeding strategy than we normally use, but it is working and the bulls are still sound and not over-conditioned. They will be ready to go to work for you. We take pride in developing our bulls carefully so that they last for our customers and nothing has changed our integrity with that despite all of the challenges that have faced us this year. Through all of the stress and hardship that the drought of 2021 brought us, there were still some highlights for Dustin and I. One very special event was when our first son was born on July 3. Layne has been a very bright light in our lives over the last seven months. He has helped to brighten even the gloomiest of days when it seemed like nothing was going right. Over the last seven months we have laughed harder, smiled wider and loved more deeply than we ever have before. We hope that we can instill our love for farming into our son (I secretly hope that he will love the cows just a little bit more than grain, haha) so one day he can continue this breeding program that we are working hard to develop. We look forward to offering our bulls through DLMS Farm Gate again this year. As always, we welcome and encourage farm visits and we hope you can come view the bulls in person prior to sale day. Don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and give me a call or shoot me a text to discuss the offering. I would love to help you find the bull that is the perfect fit for your program. All the best, Jennilee

• Bulls will be semen tested, scrotal measured, palpated and inspected by a veterinarian. • Sale weights and semen test results will be posted on our website prior to sale day.

IN-HERD SEMEN COLLECTION

Rainbow River Simmentals reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at Rainbow River Simmentals’ expense and the buyer’s convenience. Any semen collected will be for Rainbow River Simmentals’ in-herd use only.

Weaning dates

Bulls were weaned on August 6, 2021 using the fence line weaning process.

HEALTH

All bulls have been on a total herd health program since birth. They have been vaccinated and treated with: • Pyramid 5 + Presponse in February and at weaning • Covexin Plus in February and May • Fermicon 7/Somnugen at weaning • Safe Guard oral paste at weaning • Clean Up II for external parasites in November

NUTRITION

• From weaning in August to the end of September, the bulls were fed free choice alfalfa haylage and native grass hay, and limit fed corn silage. They also grazed pasture regrowth in September. At the end of September, they were started onto a Masterfeeds grower pellet and the forage in their diet was changed to free choice alfalfa haylage, oat silage and native grass hay. On December 1, the pellet was changed to our custom Blueprint bull ration from Masterfeeds. • A custom Blueprint bull ration from Masterfeeds is limit fed daily. The custom ration is formulated to balance energy requirements without overfeeding protein, and also provides the highest quality Blueprint mineral pack which includes vitamins, 100% chelated minerals and a combination of Alltech technologies that help with gut, hoof and coat health. • Riomax PG360 mineral tubs and blue salt are also fed free choice. • Their diet has been formulated to balance protein, energy, vitamin and mineral intake as they develop throughout the fall and winter. The bull ration is limit fed daily to control concentrate intake and encourage forage intake, while promoting growth and longevity. • As we approach sale day, we gradually step our bulls off their bull ration, very slowly, over several weeks. We do this to gradually re-adapt our bulls to consuming a 100% forage diet. We realize that our bulls may not receive concentrate supplementation after delivery to our customers. If they do, great! But if not, our step-down approach prevents our bulls from falling apart due to abrupt changes in diet after delivery to our customers.

Gestation Length

• We use a 285 day gestation period. • The heritability of gestation length is moderately high. • Gestation length influences a calf’s BW and a cow’s calving interval. • All bulls have their gestation length specified in this catalogue, except for embryo transfer (ET) calves. This is because the age and genetics of the recipient dam could influence the ET calf’s gestation length, making it a potentially inaccurate indicator of the ET calf’s actual inherited gestation potential.

HOMO POLLED & COAT COLOUR

• All bulls have homo polled and coat colour results specified in this catalogue. • If their polled and coat colour status could not be determined through parentage, then DNA testing was performed to obtain their results. • “Homo” is short for Homozygous, i.e.) Homozygous Polled • “Hetero” is short for Heterozygous, i.e.) Heterozygous Polled • A red animal born out of two black parents will be diluter free. • A Diluter Carrier carries one dilution gene and one non-dilution gene. Diluter Carriers can pass either gene onto their progeny, therefore some calves may express a diluted coat colour while other calves have a normal coat colour. • If they do pass a dilution gene onto their progeny, a black calf will be diluted to grey and a dark red calf will be diluted to light red. • If they pass a non-dilution gene onto their progeny, a black calf will be black and a dark red calf will be dark red.

What do the results mean?

DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auction 1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS FarmGate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favourite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid, and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions, simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favourite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favourite list, you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity. 3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This, in fact, protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. For example, if the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you. But if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and manually bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. 4. At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In most cases, the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time, the computer will declare the sale finished. 5. Following the sale, the Owner or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale. Please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases. FAQ:

WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to either continue bidding on one or more specific lots, or change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding. HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time, the clock for close extends by 5 minutes with any bid placed on any lot in the sale within that 5 minute window. This type of extended bidding turns the end time into more of a soft close. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. If you get outbid on your first lot of interest during extended bidding, you can switch to bid on your second lot of interest if desired. Always follow the countdown clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

The fame and productivity of Sage 506C goes without saying with over $500,000 in earnings to date. I have had the privilege of seeing her in the flesh with a natural calf at side. Four packs of embryos later, I have invested nearly $50,000 in her genetics. My goal was to obtain direct daughters to build a cow family with, but also, I hoped for a very special son that I could retain and walk in my own program. 57J is that special son that I have been waiting for. He is made only more special by his now deceased sire as Tycoon is one of the best bulls I have used in my program. 57J is a bull that impresses from every angle. I appreciate his quiet disposition and dark red hair, but my favorite part is what I see at the ground. This bull has a tremendous foot and leg on him. A very big, square foot with ideal heel, the kind of foot that I would search far and wide to find. I am a stickler for foot and udder quality and this bull checks off those boxes in neon, plus he checks off so many more. He does have more BW than his EPDs suggest, but it doesn’t deter me as I believe his recip dam contributed since she was a big cow that was also dry when she was pregnant with 57J. I believe in this bull enough to retain him to work for us, but I’m also confident that he has the potential to enhance many breeding programs.

The dam of this bull gets the job done year after year. She is 12 years old, just had her 12th calf and is still as sound as could be. All six of her sons have sold through our sale, her progeny are always dark red and weigh in at the top of the pack. A daughter of 9X is one of my top cows, as is a granddaughter. Our feature Lot 9 bull is from this cow family, too. There is a ton of predictability and longevity bred into 25J. His full brother was popular last spring and is now working in South Dakota. These Tycoon sons are very consistent with their type and dark red colour. Our first Tycoon daughters are in production now with phenomenal udders that milk well. This bull offers that dark red colour, udder quality and good milking ability from his dam’s side, too. The Dream cow family is one of our best. 39J does have two small, partial socks on his back pasterns. If you’re looking for a pair of bulls to work together, lots 2 and 3 could fit the bill. This chunk of a bull will put some muscle and pay weight in your calf crop. He has been a standout since a young age, always exhibiting that extra muscle expression, depth and width of top. He is a really goodnatured bull that was very quiet as a baby. His dam is one of three very productive Blue Chip females that I have in production. 7F comes from our Brandy cow family which originated in my dad’s breeding program. It is a cow family that has stood the test of time and continues to rank at the top in terms of their production ability, consistency and longevity. His granddam, 9B, is one of my favorite cows in the herd because she brings home a whopper of a calf every single year. She has a Lieutenant bull calf at side right now and I can already tell that he will be a feature in next year’s sale. Similar to Lot 9, 21J is a curve bender with an excellent EPD profile. Our Sprinkles donor made a big splash in 2021 with her first set of ET progeny that we offered for sale. This is the first of two Sprinkles sons on offer this year, and the only Betts son in the offering. He is a very complete feature bull that is quiet, nice haired, and moderate framed with lots of natural muscling, width over his top, softness and extra extension. He is one of the more eye appealing bulls in the pen with his up-headed presence and attractiveness through his front third. His photo does not do him justice, I’m sure you will appreciate him more in the flesh than his photo. Our first Sprinkles daughter is milking now with a beautiful udder that is as good as we hoped for. The predictability is bred deep into 38J with having Sprinkles and the great Sage 506C stacked up in his pedigree. Just imagine the daughters that this bull will sire!

This bull has had me excited since the day I put the straw of semen into his dam. There is so much cow power and who’s who of the Simmental breed stacked into this bull, he really has a WOW pedigree. Sage, Certainly Flirtin 532C, 202Z, 8543U and Scream are all big time donors who appear up front in 50J’s pedigree. 8543U, 202Z and Sage are three of the highest dollar earning Simmental cows in the world. His dam is my top Sage daughter that I have in production so far and has made waves here with her first three calves. Her first effort is a gorgeous Crimson Tide heifer that is arguably the best I’ve raised to date. 50J was 37F’s second calf, and this year she has a tremendous Can-Am heifer at side that is, hands down, our best heifer calf born this year. The udder and foot on 37F are fault free also. Cows like 37F are the type we want to build our program around so she will be flushed this spring. 50J himself is small framed like his sire, with all kinds of depth, dimension, softness, squareness over his top, and an overall look that is easy to like. He is very docile with a herd bull presence and has had a special look since he was a baby. Gestation 286 days.

Calving Ease. This bull came to me in-dam from the renowned TJ 57J THE GAMBLER Labatte program. I purchased his beautiful dam as the high selling HSF HIGH ROLLER 12T HSF RED FORTUNES SIS 33 black bred at Simmsational 2020 for $18,000. I didn’t picture very many cows last summer due to the drought, but 31G is one that I SKORS HIGH ROLLER 34C TNT TANKER U263 did photograph. She really held together well raising her first calf SKORS JEWEL 226A SKORS MS JEWEL 115W through such trying conditions. Skors High Roller has been held RCC/TCF LINE DRIVE M181 highly exclusive but used on heifers for many years. 28J came small SPRINGCREEK LINER 56U NEVAS L93 and ranks at the top 4% of the breed for BW. The only Red Summit son on offer but he is a feature like the other Summits we have sold over the last few years. 20J was raised by a very fancy and productive first calf heifer. She milks her heart out and has a nice udder with ideal teat size. I’m very happy with the maternal strength of our Blue Chip females and 2G in particular is showing a lot of promise as she has a very special Stratton heifer at side right now that I am in love with. Coming from our Belle cow family means that longevity, milking ability and foot quality will be strong traits in this bull. He has stood out over the last year with his extra performance and frame size, and has developed into a very soft made, long bodied, deep ribbed bull with a very docile disposition. Check out his strong set of EPDs and his curve bending performance, starting out at just 88 lbs and weaning off in the top five out of a first calver during the worse drought our area has ever seen. He also ranked third for adj YW. I would expect 20J to calve easily on cows and second calvers. He will sire daughters that you can build a herd with. Gestation 287 days.

Calving Ease. Here’s a very cool calving ease bull that will not only calve like a dream on heifers, but will add eye appeal and improve udder and hair quality, too. If you like a bull that you can hug, kiss and scratch all over, this guy will give you that as well. He was born a puppy dog, just like his dam, and he loves attention. His dam is a really good Impact daughter with the tremendous feet, udder and hair that come standard with our Impact females. She re-bred early last year and is now raising a nice Dynasty bull calf that looks promising. 3J’s granddam is also the dam of our feature Impact bull, Lot 14. 3J’s pedigree is littered with familiar names like the Double Bar D Roxy and Iron Sugar donors, the Flirts, and the legend Lock N’ Load, in addition to Walk This Way who sired the recent record setting $280,000 Walk The Line. The Walk This Way x Impact cross really clicked and presents a great combination of calving ease and maternal. Similar to his ¾ brother, Lot 11, 3J came tiny with just a 65 lb BW, has an excellent EPD spread and a short gestation of only 276 days. His dam had a short 281 day gestation and Impact’s gestation is only 275 days, too. After calving my Impact females out for the last two years, I am quite certain that 3J will shave gestation from his progeny also, making him an extra valuable calving ease sire.

Calving Ease. This fella is all herd bull! With lots of bull character showing already, there’s not much that he doesn’t do right. He has an awesome hair coat and quiet disposition like all of the Walk This Way progeny. He is long, thick, full of natural muscle and dimension, yet still soft made. The coolest part about this bull, though, is that he is triple bred calving ease with all the right stats to make him heifer safe. Just a 67 lb BW, EPDs ranked at the top 1% of the breed for CE, BW and MCE, and the glue that seals the whole deal up is his short gestation of only 276 days. His grandsire, Impact, also has a gestation of only 275 days and although I’m not sure what Walk This Way’s gestation is, I can say that almost every WTW calf born here over the last two years has come early also. Impact has taught us just how heritable short gestation really is and it makes all the difference in calving ease ability. 4J gets even better yet when you consider the good cow family backing him. His dam is very strong footed and has a tight udder with small teats. She re-bred early as a first calver last year and has a nice Tycoon bull calf at side. 4J’s granddam raised our high selling bull in 2017, which also was a calving ease bull that went to Crossroad Farms for $16,100. She also raised a full brother to 4J’s dam who was a feature in 2019 and sold to Creekridge Grain and Livestock. 4J’s great granddam, 78U, put her share of feature bulls through our sale over the years, as well as a full sister to 40B who was a feature at the Keystone Konnection in 2015, selling to Sun Rise Simmentals.

The first thing you will notice about this bull is his very good foot with nice depth of heel. He has a very thick, well-muscled hind quarter that is also one of his best features. He resembles his sire the most with his extra extension from end to end and that attractive front third that gives him a very up-headed, stand out kind of presence. He also has that extra hair and quiet disposition that is typical of the Walk This Way progeny. You’ll notice that he’s actually one of the youngest bulls in the offering, but he sure doesn’t look it. He has the extra performance and bull character that has let him stand at the top of the group and compete with the older January bulls quite easily. His adjusted YW is just shy of 1300 lbs, one of the heaviest in the group. Not bad considering the tough year he’s been through. Check out the strong set of numbers on this bull, too. Being a son of our Sprinkles donor adds predictability and maternal value to his genetics. With the extra maternal infused from Cobra and the Iron Sugar donor on the top side of his pedigree, the daughters from this bull should be very good with great udders.

48J is one of my favourite Linette sons to date and she has put many good bulls through our sale over the years. Now that Linette is deceased, I have seriously considered retaining this bull as I have always wanted to keep one of her best sons. With this being a smaller offering though, he needs to sell as one of our features. 48J has been a stand out from day one. He has always had that extra presence, width of top, muscling and scrotal size that set him apart from the rest even at a young age. He is one of the thickest and softest made bulls in the pen, and he profiles so nicely. He has a nice hair coat and is one of the quietest bulls in the pen. I have a flush sister to 48J in production now that is moderate and big ribbed like Linette herself, with an excellent udder and the ideal amount of milk. She has one of our top Impact heifers at side and that calf is really growing well. Linette consistently moderated BW in her calves and 48J’s EPDs read that he should be an easy calver, but with him being an ET calf and having a 99 lb BW, I cannot recommend him for use on heifers. He will certainly calve well on cows and second calvers though, and down the road it’s possible that he may prove himself to be safe for well-developed heifers, too. 48J is a very complete bull and one that deserves some serious consideration.

Calving Ease. This feature bull has been a standout since a few days of age. He has developed into a long bodied, docile bull that is easy to handle and carries himself with a lot of presence. He is one of the biggest bulls in the offering, has been one of the top gainers his whole life, and still offers so much calving ease. Even through the worst of the drought in July, while most of the other bulls were starting to slow down or go backwards with their development, this bull didn’t seem to be phased. He continued to push through at an impressive pace; he was quite a sight to see while nursing his dam in that brown, barren pasture. The quality of 2J is no fluke, though. His full sister is the dam of Lot 10 and she is a special female in our herd. We loved her so much as a calf that I bred 24D back the same way knowing her cross with Impact was a homerun. 24D is a direct daughter of the Double Bar D Roxy donor, who is a daughter of the Wheatland Lady 822U donor. In short, the cow family backing 2J is very strong and they are all moderate framed, big capacity cows with very good udders. I can sound like a broken record talking about how good the foot and hair quality is in these Impact bulls, but 2J is no different in that regard. He will definitely calve easily on cows and second calvers and I wouldn’t be afraid to test him out on some well-developed heifers also. With his CE, BW and MCE EPDs at the top 2%, 15% and 3%, I suspect he might end up being heifer safe. Short gestation 281 days.

This stout, soggy tank is a stand out in the offering. He carries a lot of mass and natural muscle shape in his very moderate frame, has awesome hair, and has an attractive herd bull presence about him. Anyone who has seen this bull has always gone over for a second look. He comes by his sogginess and stoutness honestly as his sire consistently stamps his calves in that way. I saw Lieutenant at stud three times the year he sold and I liked him every time. I don’t have any Lieutenant daughters in production yet, but from the reports I’ve heard his daughters have excellent udders and make very nice cows. 14J’s dam is easy keeping, moderate and tanky with all kinds of depth of rib and an excellent udder. She tends to stand out on pasture tours and is a direct daughter of the beautiful Linne 10R donor who had a phenomenal foot and strong udder her entire life. 10R was flushed by both Springcreek and ourselves and was in production until 14 years of age. Gestation 290 days.

Calving Ease. The opportunity to own an R Plus female doesn’t come by very often, so when I had the chance to buy a heifer a couple springs ago, I didn’t hesitate. The 5015C daughters are known to be productive cows with strong udders, so I’ve always wanted to own one. Marlin regarded the granddam of 1096J very highly and she is a cow that has raised several good bulls for R Plus over the years. I feel fortunate to have acquired a daughter from such a strong cow family and I have high expectations for the influence that 9144G will have on my program going forward. 1096J is her first calf and she certainly made him fancy and sound. You will love the foot quality and great heel on this bull. 9144G also has a tremendously good foot with a nice, deep heel. The chances of getting some blaze face calves out of this bull should be quite good. His outcross pedigree gives all kinds of mating flexibility, too. 1096J is a smaller framed bull that started out small, has an adj YW of 1146 lbs, and ranks at the top 4% for CE, top 10% for BW and top 3% for MCE. A perfect heifer bull candidate. Gestation 290 days.

18J came to me in-dam from Spring Creek Simmentals. 130B is a powerful cow with a history of strong production, including a feature son in 2019 and a feature daughter that just sold in December for $13,000. 18J is one of the biggest framed bulls in the pen. He should serve to add some chrome, increase frame size and add some length to his calves. Gestation 287 days.

Stout, thick and hairy are three words that best summarize this bull. He is a very moderate bull but packs a lot of power into his frame. His dam is a beautiful cow who I showed as a bred heifer and ranks as one of the most eye appealing females in our herd. The Tuition cow family is known for their excellent foot and udder quality, and good milking ability. Gestation 292 days.

I intentionally left the best for last by placing this bull at the back of the catalogue. He is a feature bull and could have easily led off the offering as Lot 1. 31J is even better in the flesh than in his photo, a bull that truly needs to be seen. Definitely one of the most complete bulls in the pen, he is powerful, balanced, sound, eye appealing, full of performance, and of course, backed by a great cow that has raised special ones before. I have two daughters in-herd and her 2019 son was a feature bull that sold to Todd Simmentals in Quebec. The Tycoon heifer that 20B gave me in January is looking awesome and will be staying here to expand the cow family. The top side of 31J’s pedigree is also packed with maternal strength and I expect the Dynasty influence will serve to perfect udders in 31J’s daughters. 31J is one of only a few bulls who seemed to be only mildly affected by the severity of the drought last summer. When most other bulls were falling behind in their development, 31J kept pushing forward. He was the number one ranked bull for both WW and YW. This bull will add pay weight to your calves and dollars to your bottom line, or he will leave you a powerful set of daughters to build your cow herd with. No matter which way you want to use him, he will work. Short gestation 284 days.
