Our sales are conducted in Canadian funds. The U.S. exchange rate will be available at the settlement desk.

Upon successful purchase of an animal, the consignors will assist with the necessary documentation, health exams, brokerage and U.S. custom charges necessary to export your animal to the U.S. An additional fee of $300.00 U.S. per animal will be charged for this service, and is due at time of settlement. Transportation is not included in this amount.

SEMEN

The breeders in The Premium Beef Bull Sale reserve the right to draw semen on any of the sale bulls for ‘in herd use’ at the buyer’s convenience and our cost.

SETTLEMENT, DELIVERY AND AFTER-SALE OPTIONS

Option A: Bring your trailer to the sale and take your purchase sale day.

Option B: Free delivery on the bulls to central points in western Canada. We will do our best to get them right to your place. Distances further will be on a cost share basis. Bulls can be taken back to the sellers and boarded free of charge to April 15/24. After that a $3.00/day charge will apply. We request that all bulls returning to the farm be insured.

The Johns, de Rocquingny and Schweitzer/McColl families are deep in history of raising top Simmental genetics to boast their programs and offer a top product to you, their valued customers. There is a lot of bulls that get sold through the country of all breeds and quality stock is most important to us all, I can assure you that you’ll find the quality that you seek plus (and equally as important) being backed by some of the most genuine, integrity driven, good hearted people in the business that we can recommend highly to do business with. Their goal is for you to have nothing but success and profitability with your investment on your new herd bull or heifer.

Our team just toured through these bull pens and they are memorable in quality with strong feet, sound structure and overall completeness that is so important. The consistency is impressive yet there is still an ideal diversity with calving ease, power and a mixture of both bulls. The cowherd behind them is the main reason for this strength in the bull pen as all three programs emphasize the maternal strength of their cowherds and they felt out produce. New to the 2024 sale is an impressive set of open purebred females from the top of their replacement pen and a select group of commercial from a strong customer, Darryl Gerrard. We do know that these females are bred for profitability and certainly won’t disappoint.

Our IPU Betts herd sire has done precisely what we had hoped for by producing impressive bulls and heifers that are consistently smooth fronted, wide topped, nice bone, great hair coats and depth that carries front to back. With fantastic temperaments, I feel this group of red bulls have what it takes to match up with any program, and elevate your crop. WLB Blaze On, has proven to again produce a powerful set of bulls. Big strong, wide topped, powerful quarters, just to sum it up. Many of which are also very docile and enjoy their scratches. Very proud to have moved Blaze On last spring to Chad and Kelly Hunter and family, a great program in the Harding MB area.

Well, it is hard to believe that a year has gone by, and it is bull sale time again!

Last year was the first year of hosting the sale at our farm just south of Kenton, MB and we are sure excited to do it again. This year you will notice the name of the sale has changed a little to Premium Beef Bull & Female Sale. Along with fellow consignors Bert’s N R Simmentals, McColl/Schweitzer Simmentals, and Darryl Gerrard we are super excited to bring to you a great set of bulls with performance and calving ease along with some open purebred heifers and two groups of commercial open heifers.

Working alongside Greg and Allyson Workman we feel we have a very strong consistent set of bulls on offer this year. We feel there is the potential of some breeder bulls along with well working commercial herd bulls. We would like to reserve the right to draw semen on any of the bulls for our own in-herd use. The bulls are on a full vaccination program and will be semen checked, and ready to go work by sale time. We also have on offer 4 open purebred heifers that we are very proud of and that will go out and work in any program and make very productive females. Videos have been taken of the bulls and heifers and will be placed on www.cattlevids.ca.

We bought our first bull from the Premium Beef sale in 2013 from Cam and Myrna (IPU Romano 90X son). Since then, the majority of our bulls have come from this sale. The bull we purchased from Bert’s NR in 2015 has really left an impact on our herd (Godfather son). We have kept countless daughters off him and used him for eight breeding seasons.

Our cow herd is on a Pfizer Gold program and the heifers will have pre breeding shots done prior to sale day. Since weaning in early October, the heifers have been on a TMR of barley, corn silage and whole oats. Visitors are always welcome to the farm before sale day. A group of fancy black heifers that are hard to pick apart in my opinion. All off first calf heifers that did a great job. Sired by our calve ease bull N7 Angus Valley. Deep bodied with some extra length to them. These ½ blood heifers should make some dandy cows. Two of these heifers’ mothers are daughters off our Godfather son from Bert’s NR.
