On behalf of Dave, myself, Griffin and Holden, I would like to welcome you, our fellow seed stock producers and commercial cattlemen to the 2021 edition of the Erixon Simmentals Bull & Female Sale. 2020 provided us all with some major challenges to overcome, but we are resilient people.

2021 brings us new goals, hope and a new perspective on life.

The herd is built around strong cow families that have been consistent over the years.

We believe in the power of the momma cow, and her ability to produce by utilizing forages. Cattle are our sole income and each and every cow on the farm must pull her own weight. Our bulls and heifers come to you out of the industry’s leading A.I sires and two of our own walking bulls. We take great pride in striving to find exciting new and upcoming sires.

We have invested heavily in semen packages over the years and are very happy with the results.

Some of the proven herdsires that are represented again this year are; State of War, Liberator, Kill Switch, Capacity, Affiliate & Alliance. We are very pleased with the job that our newest A.I sires are doing; Betts,Tycoon and Epic. You will see a large group of bulls again in our 2022 sale off these sires.

We are excited to get the bulls out and working for our customers.We have something for everyone. Reds, blacks, white faced, heifer bulls, calving easy cow bulls, performance bulls and the list goes on. Please call us and we can discuss the bulls in detail with you. The group of 5 heifers are out of our replacement pen. They are good honest heifers. All the pictures were taken in December. We made sure to get a picture of each and every animal for your appraisal. We are committed to the industry and are always striving to raise the best stock possible.

All the bulls and heifers are on a full herd health program and have been poured with Ivomec. The calves are developed on a high roughage TMR ration that promotes growth and longevity. The bulls see no creep on grass or at weaning. We believe our bulls are muscled up and are in optimal condition to go out and breed. They’re weaned and put back out on a grass field until mid November when they’re put into their winter pens.

We have the full confidence in our sales staff and this is a free service to you. Not only are they here at sale time to analyze the bulls, they’ve seen them while they were sucking their dams. Option B: Free on bulls to central points in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. In most cases we will deliver the bull to your yard. Trucking will start immediately after the sale at seller’s convenience.

Option C: Bulls may be left at the farm free of charge until April 15. A $3.00/ day fee will apply after that and bulls will then need to be picked up or delivery arrangements made with the seller.

We insist all purchases be insured while at Erixon Simmentals. All bulls and females become the risk of the buyer once sold. Erixon Simmentals will provide the utmost care of the animals that return to the farm.

Semen Collection

Erixon Simmentals reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at Erixon Simmentals expense and the buyers convenience. Any semen collected will be for Erixon Simmentals in herd use only.

Win a $2000 Sale Credit

Purchase a bull from any current Saskatchewan member, and when the registration papers are transferred, your name is entered to win a $2000 sale credit! The draw will be made at the SSA’s annual general meeting in July and the lucky winner will have one year to use the credit at any public auction or private sale on bulls or females purchased from any current SSA member.

Guarantee:

All animals will carry the standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Simmental Association. If a problem occurs with your purchase, please notify us as soon as possible. A bull of equal value and quality will be supplied or a credit given towards the purchase of another Erixon bull.

These four maternal brothers are transplant bulls that come to you with some extra age. Erixon Lady 126Y was the anchor of our 2013 show string. She had many accomplishments throughout the year, with the grandest being named top 10 in the Royal Bank Cup Supreme at Agribition. 126Y was one of the most consistent, highest valued cows on the farm raising some top end progeny. 126Y has 38 registered progeny. It would be pretty neat to see these brothers out walking with a large group of cows. Take note that 199G did lose his dam at 4 months of age and was on his own. The group of extra age bulls along with our other bulls see no creep.

So broody yet so much class and eye appeal would best describe this leading female. She comes out of an outstanding cow family, the Pocahontas 68M family.

Boy, she did not disappointed us the first time around, raising Erixon Magnum 69D! He was a $32,000 high seller that we A.I’ed numerous heifers to. The dam of 5H is a gorgeous Erixon War Paint daughter. She has a stellar udder and has done a fantastic job raising 5H. Check out the number profile on 5H, he has great calving ease numbers with top end weaning and yearling EPD’s.

46C is a dark red, extremely hairy Wallbanger daughter with a nice udder. She has done a top end job on this Betts bull. We will have a large selection of Betts calves for 2022. We thought very highly of this sire group already at a very young that we bred a ton of cows back to him. He had a short gestation and calved excellent for us.

His dam has been a top end producer, with her biggest accomplishment being the $18,000 Royal Red daughter that sold at Friday Night Lights.

We sold a large group of Liberator sired bulls in 2020. 16 bulls walked through the ring and averaged a very strong $9000. Liberator himself is extremely impressive to look at has an easy going temperament.

18H is a striking herd sire prospect that ticks quite a few boxes.

Calving Ease! We bred all the red heifers to Epic in 2019 and 2020. We felt his look and EPD’s made him a good choice to use on the different sire groups in our red replacement pen. He calved easily and had a short gestation. We are extremely happy with how the bull calves are developing.

The Sate of War calves have been born with no worries here for multiple years. 25H has a small skull, smooth shoulder but still carries a herd bull look and doesn’t lack in length or frame.

613D or better known as Darlin’ is a true beauty! IRCC Darlin’ 613D made quite the flash in 2018 as she dominated the show ring out in Ontario and was named Grand Champion Female at the Royal. She then went on to be the Reserve Champion Female at Agribition and topped off her show career with being named top 10 in the Royal Bank Supreme. She is nearly flawless in her design and was admired by many. We feel this is one heck of an opportunity to buy into two of the great up and comers. 2 of the most prolific red cows in the industry back these bulls.....Darlin’ and Sage! 2 full sib were the lead off heifer calves at Friday Night Lights for $45,000 and $35,000. These two bulls have the look and a beautiful set of EPD’s to back them. Their gestation was 276 & 277 days.

82D is an embryo transplant off 133U and Capone. She crossed extremely well with Liberator and we think pretty highly of the dark red Liberator bull.

In the fall of 2019 we sold a daughter of 52D in the Border City sale to the Eaton family of Lloydminster. My footnotes on her read.....206E is no slouch of a heifer and will raise calves that push the scale down come weaning. Well, last spring I received a message from the Eatons saying just how good and happy they were with her bull calf. He weaned off 206E - Maternal Sib that first calf heifer at 900 lbs. Heifer bull! We bred all the red heifers to the homo polled Epic. We felt his look and EPD’s made him a good choice to use on the different sire groups in our red replacement pen.
