Larry and Dee Coleman are third and fourth-generation Montana ranchers. Larry Coleman grew up down the road from the current location of Coleman Angus where he raised Limousin cattle with his family. As Larry grew, he enjoyed taking steers to the county fairs and, while a sophomore at Charlo High School, Larry had a steer that he thought really had a chance of winning Grand Champion. McDonald’s typically bought the Grand or Reserve Champion Steer, so Larry named his steer, “Big Mac.” The steer won, and as you guessed it, McDonald’s bought him. The money he earned was enough to make a down payment on 80 acres and a home, that the Colemans live in currently.
Cattle have always been an integral part of Dee Normand’s life. Dee’s parents ran a large commercial Hereford operation in Eastern Montana then went on to run their own Gelbvieh/Red Angus herd. Dee grew up on horseback following her parents wherever they were headed and, with her adventurous and spunky spirit, she learned to fix whatever needed fixing, to get in a day’s worth of chores, and still have time for a few pranks up her sleeve. She also has many fond memories of hours spent with her best buddy and pet cow, Lucy.
Dee and Larry met while Larry was doing some work on her family ranch and, while home from college for summer break, Dee spied Larry and the rest was history! They married in 1994 and after working various jobs and on a ranch south of Miles City, in 1996 Larry and Dee decided to come back home, to the home that Larry had purchased in
high school and was renting out, and start building their own Angus herd. They started with three donors, ten commercial recips, and just a few dollars in the bank but that was the start of Coleman Angus.
Coleman Angus Ranch is a family run operation. Everyone in the family is involved on a daily basis including their two children, 22-year-old Erica and Dawson. Larry and Dee truly believe they are fortunate to have had the opportunity to raise their children in this lifestyle.
The first Coleman Angus Female Sale was held in October 2004 and they have had an annual female sale in October every year since. Currently, Coleman Angus holds their annual bull sale the third Tuesday in February. They also have a monthly online embryo auction.
Jeremy’s passion for Angus cattle came at a young age. He grew up in Northern Indiana in a small farming community near Plymouth, Indiana where he was a member of the National Jr. Angus Association, Indiana Angus Association, FFA, 4-H, and enjoyed exhibiting cattle at many National Junior Angus Shows, regional shows, state shows, and locally. Jeremy was a member of the National and Indiana Angus Associations and served two terms as President of the Indiana Jr. Angus Association. He represented Indiana in the National Showmanship Contest (with current Angus breeder Kyle Gillooly) at the National Jr. Angus Show in Des Moines, Iowa then later, as an adult, was selected to judge the same event. He has had the privilege of judging cattle at local, state, and national shows. Jeremy pursued his education at Purdue University where he majored in Animal Agribusiness and was on the judging team.
The Haag family has a long, rich history in American agriculture. Their livelihood has revolved around Angus cattle and they are now in their 5th generation of being cattle breeders. His great-grandfather bought their first heifers as a dairyman, then Jeremy’s grandfather grew the herd and established a base set of Angus genetics with the purchase of two Angus females of O Bardoliermere breeding from the Grimm Angus Sale in Bourbon, Indiana. The family has had Angus since 1965, and the passion is flourishing in the new generation with nephew, Weston, and niece, Tinley, bringing the Haag family now into their 60th year of the Angus business.
Jenny Hinson, an animal lover her whole life, enjoyed the weekends when she was able to visit her grandparent’s farm in Moultrie, Georgia. Her best times revolved around seeing the cattle, her granddaddy’s pet Shetland pony, and all the barn cats. She spent countless hours helping around the farm shelling beans with her cousins, picking fruit and vegetables, climbing trees, and rocking on the front porch listening her grandma and family telling their stories and catching up on the local news.
Jeremy and Jenny met in Kansas City, Missouri where their careers drew them together at an Angus sale management firm. They married in 2014 and continue to work together managing sales. Together they launched the first ever Angus online auction service, Angus Live LLC. In 2021, they were given a life-changing opportunity to be a part of one of the greatest Angus operations in America with Dee and Larry Coleman who have the common goal of making cattle better for the commercial cattleman and seedstock producer. Jeremy and Jenny work with the Coleman family in Charlo, Montana building the marketing program as well as feeding hay, herd health, and helping on the ranch on a daily basis as needed. They have three wonderful children, Drew, Aleigh, and Matthew, who have all developed successful careers in Missouri and California. The love and compassion the Haag’s share for helping people, working with Angus cattle, and time spent in all factors of the agriculture community has gained them tremendous respect for ranchers and farmers all over the country.

28 YEARS OF DEDICATED FOCUS
Dear Angus Friends,
On behalf of the Coleman and Haag families, we would like to extend this personal invitation to each of you to be with us for a very special event. On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, we will be offering the strongest, deepest set of the freshest genetics we have ever offered at Coleman Angus. This sale is structured around what our customers have asked for, wanting our newest genetics from our best donors.
This sale encompasses our entire bred heifer section and twelve elite ET heifers. We are very pleased with this offering and every great donor will be represented on October 14, 2025. We also brought to the table this year a select set of heifer calf pregnancies and embryos as well as Coleman Avalanche 458, a bull we kept to use this spring and have used extensively in our program. Avalanche has caught the attention of many of the best breeders in the country. He is backed by generations of proven maternal genetics and is a maternal brother to Coleman Below Zero 2106. We enjoy selling really good cattle that have the opportunity to go to work for you and increase your bottom line. This sector of new genetics has been developed for the most progressive cattlemen in the country. Our focus has always been the same…balance is key! We continue to concentrate on the fundamentals that make Angus females GREAT! We select for balance, not the extremes, because we feel the basics of raising seedstock start with feet, udders, production records, and longevity – all indicators within $M. These four factors have been heavily selected for each and every breeding decision and on a daily basis.
We urge you all to plan a getaway to Western Montana this October! You won’t be disappointed in the view this time of year. We will have a prime rib supper the evening before our sale and ask that if you will be attending to text, call, or email one of us at the ranch so we can plan appropriately. There are a lot of great sights around the area for families to see and activities to do together.
If you would like to view the cattle prior to the sale please feel free to reach out, we would love to show you our program. Our videos and updates will be provided on our website at www.colemanangus.com prior to the sale. If you have any questions, please feel free to call any of us here at Coleman Angus. We look forward to seeing you!
Sincerely,
Larry,
Dee, Erica, and Dawson Coleman Jeremy and Jenny Haag

Whenwe established Coleman Angus in 1996, we wanted to choose a brand that had meaning. A brand that represented us, who we were, what our goals were, and what we wanted to accomplish: 100% dedication, 100% customer service, 100% commitment to our ranch, 100% commitment to the land.
A “brand” is a mark of the man and encompasses that proud moment when a man stamps his identity on the hide. A brand declares ownership, labels a man’s integrity, tags him with responsibility, and totals his worth. But a man’s brand is about more than just a symbol of ownership, it is also a representation of the people behind it.
Brands gain a life of their own. Ranches become known by their brand and the symbols become linked to the land on which the cattle are raised. Brands become ingrained in the people. People become ingrained in the ranches and in the land; they are inseparable. A brand conveys a promise. There is sentimental attachment to the brand that a ranch decides on, and we are loyal to what it means to us. It is personal. Many stories are attached to a brand, not because of the mark itself but because of the people, land, and memories tied to it. A brand also becomes the image and personality of our product and service.
Every brand is a man’s own special mark, our identity as ranchers. Our chosen brand stamps our commitment with quality, passion, loyalty, dedication, and service. Our passion lies in making an impact and a difference, providing a stewardship, exceeding expectations, and delivering a brand that is monumental to your program as well.

At Coleman Angus, we believe it all starts with the Momma cow and our focus on this has never wavered. Since the very beginning, we have been dedicated to producing Angus cattle that are practical, problem free, and economically rewarding. We were very excited when the American Angus Association came out with the Maternal Plus program and, although this is a voluntary program, we have been a member from the very beginning.
When making mating decisions, we have never focused on EPDs but rather used our eyes when selecting for foot quality, udder quality, disposition, fertility, mothering ability or lack of, and fleshing ability. We pay attention to production records, calving intervals, and nursing ratios and this has never changed. It is rewarding for us that the voluntary data we have been turning in from the very beginning, and our aggressive selection pressure on these maternal traits such as breeding and culling for from the very beginning, line up with the $M index.
We feel that it is very important to understand all the EPDs that go into $M. It is not about selecting for a single trait but rather a BALANCE of traits that we feel is the key to the puzzle if your focus is on producing great Angus females. We have earned the Maternal Plus logo by meeting American Angus Association’s total herd reporting requirements. Not only does this data help Coleman Angus but, more importantly, assists our customers with information needed to make sound selection decisions.

It Is A VALUE Based On ALL These Combined TRAITS:

Heifer Pregnancy (HP)

TheColeman program has been built the old-fashioned way--in the pasture where maternal is measured by production records and longevity and where Pathfinder® still means something.
As you study the AHIR data base at the American Angus Association, Coleman Angus has the #1 (Coleman Donna 040) and #2 (Coleman Donna 0308) $M females in the breed that are 15 years of age or older with the Pathfinder® status. These cattle in this year’s sale truly measure maternal strength!
Throughout this sale offering, you will notice that we have built this program on the best genetics we could find. As represented in this catalog, you will find an array of full and half sisters that are from our embryo transfer program. We believe in moving forward from the very best that we have built from day one. We believe in quality and not quantity.
$M is the stockman’s EPD and the genetic indicator that factors into real world economic production records for both seedstock and commercial cattlemen alike.
