Well here we are again! Bull Sale Season! We’ve said so long to 2018 and have kicked 2019 off with the excitement of calving; the most wonderful time of the year! All our hard work in selecting new genetics, AI’ing and putting in embryos is coming to fruition! While 2018 was less than ideal weather wise, we still had pretty wonderful year! The highlight of our year would have to be the Northern Alberta Angus Club Tour that we hosted. We’d like to thank each and every one of you that made it out. It turned into a wonderful weekend with lots of visiting, food and fantastic cattle to view!! Thanks to our neighbours, MJT Cattle Co. and Pugh Farms for allowing us to bring the tour to their farms and providing libations. Thanks to the many hands that helped us prepare for the weekend, create and cook the meals and the breeders that also brought cattle to our place to display. Our District 4-H Show and the Alberta Junior Angus Show are always other summer highlights for our whole family. This year Tell, our youngest, was very excited to step up and join his older siblings in the show ring at the AJAA Show. He even brought home a banner! Thanks to all the Juniors and parents who help our kids in the ring, mentor them and help run the programs they love! For the past year and a half we’ve been blessed to have a few college students helping us out on the farm. Last year we had Kathleen Porteous and Kaylee Duncan and this year Jarett Hargrave has been giving us a hand and Kaylee came back to help out at the shows. All three of these young adults are a long way from their homes when at college and we’ve loved the opportunity to have them come out, help us and become an extended part of our family. There are many people that help us throughout the year at the shows and at the farm with cattle, kids and equipment and we couldn’t do it without you. We really appreciate the help from all our family and friends! Thank you for all that you do! We are loving the way this year’s bull pen is looking and can’t help but think this is the best set of bulls we’ve raised yet. Every year we are selecting new genetics based on some pretty strict guidelines that we’ve created, we cull our females hard and see the fruits of our labour when we walk through our yearling bull and heifer pens. This year’s sale has a new addition with us selling five purebred heifers as well. Our replacement heifer pen seems to get bigger and bigger each year and the pasture we have dictates that we can’t keep them all, so we are offering up a handful for you to take home and put to work in your herd.

The bulls are being developed along nicely this year on a whole oat and barley silage total mixed ration. As always, these bulls are fully guaranteed and if for some reason there is an issue, we want to be the first to know. We always carry spare bulls and will have one to get your cows bred should an issue arise. We would like to thank all our past bidders and buyers that have shown support of our program.
