Welcome to our Fourth Annual Bull and Female Sale! There is something energizing when you start to compile the information, pictures, support pictures and videos to market your sale offering. You begin to realize how many hours, days, months and years it has taken to produce and manage the cattle you are offering. The time travelled to source genetics to improve your own program so you can provide a product to your customers that will hopefully be rewarding for them. It’s always our goal to strive to put together the most complete, balanced, and exciting offering we can, and we feel this year is no exception. A large group of RPY Paynes Cracker 17E sons lead off the offering, complimented by the second year of LFLC Dollar Bill 764D’s, and a few off Hunt Credentials 37C ET, B Bar Bentley 8D, and LFLC Easy Street. The bulls are as consistent and intriguing as ever with a well rounded selection of heifer bulls, power bulls, red and black with the large majority being homozygous polled. They spend their summer months on a wide-open section of rolling native grass pasture, are weaned into ½ mile long grass runs and are developed on a TMR ration formulated by Trouw Nutrition. The bred heifers offer some variety in their genetics but all provide structural integrity backed by strong cow families to help provide confidence in their future ability. They are bred early, on their first services to two of our homozygous polled walking herd sires. Half are bred to the popular and reliable $20,000 RPY Paynes Cracker 17E who has proven his ability as a well rounded sire for multiple programs in North America and Australia. The other half are bred to the 2nd high-selling bull at Treftz’s 2020 Sale, TREF Freewheeling 051F. We selected TREF Freewheeling for his overall balance, style, strong foot quality and athletic movement. He provides a strong numerical tabulation along with a unique pedigree for Canada. The semen lots are proven, predictable, and exclusive. The very last of the Ivy’s Bubba Watson 24B semen sells. This sire has proven himself to be one of the most well rounded herd sires we have ever walked. He can produce bulls that cattlemen appreciate and daughters that are sound and functional. This will be the second time LFLC Dollar Bill 764D semen will be put up for auction, the first time in 2017 Payne Livestock took all 100 doses at $200 per dose. His progeny come easy at birth, are good haired and have tremendous amounts of muscle and rib shape. We provide a lot information and data to aid in your selection process. Wintering & Bull Development
• Our selection criteria and bull development will not change. We will continue to select our bull pen and develop the same as we have over the years. The only difference is you purchase your bull in December. • .We insist to winter the bulls for you, the buyer, at no additional cost. This will allow us to properly develop them on a balanced ration as we prepare to semen test them and for longevity in mind to benefit you, the customer. • .All bulls going back to B Bar Cattle must be insured. An Insurance Broker will be onsite for your convenience. • .We will semen test the bulls at B Bar Cattle’s cost approx. the last week in February 2021. • .We feed a high roughage TMR ration formulated by Trouw Nutrition consisting of oat and barley silage, haylage, alfalfa/grass hay and textured ration, for a gain of 3-3.5 lbs per day.
