Welcome to the 20th anniversary of the Kuntz-McIntosh-SAJ Simmental Bull Sale on March 12th in the heated Lloydminster Exhibition complex. The culmination of two decades of sales in which these progressive Simmental breeders have been supplying the livestock industry, both purebred and commercial, their added value bulls. Each of their breeding programs are unique in genotype as they use a cross section of different sires.

In addition to producing high quality bulls, these young cattlemen have produced several “big time” sires. No doubt one of the features of this event is the Grand Champion CWA Pen of Simmental Bulls and the Saskatchewan Stock Growers People’s Choice Champion Pen...a feat that seems to be becoming a habit, reflecting the quality of the offering. Congratulations are in order, Blair and Stephanie, for being chosen 2018 Saskatchewan Breeders of the Year in the Simmental breed! The powerful line up of Polled and Horned bulls...red, black and “Fleck” fullbloods allows you to select from a diverse and quality offering. Thickness and depth, lots of hair and nuts, these bulls will work in all types of programs and environments.

Welcome to the Kuntz/Mcintosh/SAJ bull sale. First off I’d like to thank all the past buyers of my bulls for trusting in my program, your support is truly appreciated. I have brought my largest group of bulls to the sale this year and I feel the quality runs deep whether it be a red, black or a fullblood you are looking for. There are a variety of bulls that will work in a variety of situations for the new herds they will go to. All of my bulls have been double vaccinated for footrot with Fusogard.

Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions, and consider stopping in for a look at the bulls in their natural environment. The dams to the bulls are not far from the pen and I’d encourage buyers to look at the dam of the bulls they’re interested in. Delivery will be worked out commencing shortly after the sale but we’ll work as best we can to find a suitable time to deliver.

We were very excited for the arrival of these embryo calves as they are full brothers to Kuntz Sheriff 8A. Sheriff has been a very popular AI sire who has been used heavily on heifers. This blaze faced bull is one of the two Westcott sons we have in the sale because Lot 43 we got mostly heifer calves out of him last year. Welcome to the 20th Annual Kuntz/McIntosh/SAJ Bull Sale. We are excited to showcase this group of bulls. We feel this is the best group of bulls that we have ever brought to town, with a good mix of calving ease and some power bulls to add the pounds to your calf crop. Also, these bulls will add to your replacement pen being out of strong maternal cow families. New this year we decided to do the Q-Select Genotype testing as a few customers have been inquiring about it.

We seem to get busier every year with things around the farm and activities with family and perhaps don’t get a chance to show our appreciation and visit with all our customers the way we would like to.So, a sincere thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years at past bull and female sales. Without all of you we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this great industry!

We would like to invite all past, present and future customers to come on out to the sale and also make sure to stop by the farm to preview the bulls and the cow herd any time. The bulls will be on display indoors from March 10 - 12 at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds in Lloydminster, SK. All McIntosh bulls will be double vaccinated with Fusogard to help in the prevention of footrot. We offer free delivery in Alberta and Saskatchewan and cost shared to other destinations. We will work with you to get the bulls delivered as close to you as possible and in a time frame that works for both parties.

Bondsman was shown by us this past fall at the side of his dam. Together they were Champion Simmental Female at the Lloydminster Stockade Roundup. We feel that Bondsman truly exhibits a lot of the things a person would look for when searching for the next great herdsire. He was born unassisted with a very nice 90 lb. birth weight, then he grew out to an impressive 1448 lb. adjusted yearling weight. He carries a very balanced set of EPDs and ranks in the top 10% for Calving Ease and top 15% for Birth Weight. His Q-select Genotype is stellar, exhibiting the most desirable traits in three out of four categories! (Leptin, PMCH and IGF2). He tested Homo Polled and Homo Black. 1F is the only resulting calf from a flush of our Horizon donor cow to the immortal Angus sire, Soo Line Motive 9016. We were searching for something a little different when we flushed 11B this way and I was really secretly hoping for a pretty heifer calf or two. What we ended up with was this huge bodied rascal though and wow! He is just a perfect example of hybrid vigour at work in the real world. Short gestation of 273 days with an 87 lb. birth weight, followed by an explosive growth to a 960 lb. weaning weight and was the overall heavy weight on yearling weigh day at a whopping 1469 lbs.! Here is a nice Bounty Hunter son. Havana comes with a nice little shot of chrome on his forehead and nose. We used Bounty Hunter lightly in our heifer pen with success, but we also bred him to a cross section of mature cows to get a feel for where he works best for us. These ones off the mature cows really performed well in terms of calving ease with good growth from there on. Havana’s dam is a great producing, Double Up daughter with ample milk supply, she always brings in a big calf each fall. Havana was born with a very acceptable 94 lb. birth weight and ranks in the top 25% or higher for the calving ease traits.

Thunder is a black bald face bull with some added eye appeal, he carries some extra extension through that front end and as his picture shows he profiles very nicely. Thunder comes to you from what is becoming one of the prominent cow families here, the Nashville family. His dam and the dam of Lot 67 are maternal siblings. Sired by the Shell Shocked bull. This dark red bull is out of a favourite young cow here that came to us from the South Holden operation. She is a perfect uddered, Bootlegger daughter that, like Seige, is very dark red in colour and is just beautiful through her head and neck area! It is quickly becoming apparent that Bootlegger’s strength lies in his daughters as they are turning into some of the most productive cows there are.

When “The Devil” arrived here we were happy that we made that decision! Just a really great bull all around. Moderate in frame, beautiful dark red in color and he moved around like a cat! Dare Devil comes from one of the most prominent and dependable maternal lines in the breed and we are sure pleased we have been able to add the maternal prowess of the Amber family into our own herd. The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Bidding...

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder...no by-bidding will be permitted.

Disputes - Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute.

If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

Announcements...

All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.

Breeder’s Guarantee...

All bulls sold are guaranteed breeders by the owners. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull. Should any bull fail to be an unsatisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. If you have a problem with your bull, please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.

Exception Guarantee...

In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.

Certificate of Registration...

Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association.

A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Liabilities...

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. $100 rebate on bulls taken home sale day. Bulls must be insured by buyer.

Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.

All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue.
