From the desk at T Bar... Welcome to the 19th annual Kuntz/McIntosh/ SAJ Simmental Bull Sale on March 13th in the heated facility at Lloydminster Exhibition Complex. For the past 18 years, this group of very progressive breeders have been supplying Western Canada with value-earning bulls, enhancing the commercial and purebred herds throughout the industry. The Simmental breed is in full stride, as all sectors of the beef industry are benefiting the influence‌the packer for carcass value and yield, the feedlot operator for their growth and low cost for gain and the cow-calf man who is getting a two-fold advantage with heavier calves in the fall and ideal replacement females. Simmental is a win-win situation in the beef cattle industry. The lineup for the 2018 sale is powerful combining rugged fullbloods both polled and horned along with a great lineup of domestics, red and black. No doubt, one of the features will be the members of the Agribition Supreme Champion Pen of Bulls Overall Breeds, selected and approved by astute cattlemen. The offering has bulls suitable for all types of programs and budgets, whether you are looking for a Fleck, a power bull or a sleep easy calving sire. The bulls will be available for viewing at the sale facility a day or so before the sale or visit any of the farms prior, where you can preview the bulls in their natural environment and see the mothers. Welcome to the 19th Annual Kuntz/McIntosh/SAJ Bull Sale. We are excited to showcase this group of bulls. We feel this is the best group of black bulls that we have ever brought to town. There is some serious curve benders that combine calving ease and will add pounds to your calf crop, out of strong maternal cow families. The red bulls will be headlined by the calving ease pen of three that were successfully shown at Agribition bringing home the Champion Pen of 3 Simmentals and going on to be Supreme Champion Pen of Bulls. These bulls all out of two year old heifers were also named People’s Choice at the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association mixer night at Agribition. A special thanks to everyone that has supported us at the past bull and female sales over the years. We would like to invite all past, present and future customers to come on out to the sale and also make sure to stop by the farm to preview the bulls and the cow herd any time. The bulls will be on display indoors from March 11-13 at the Lloydminster Exhibition grounds in Lloydminster, SK. All McIntosh bulls will be double vaccinated with Fusogard to help in the prevention of foot rot and are also on our full herd health regimen. We offer free delivery in Alberta and Saskatchewan and cost shared to other destinations. We will work with you to get the bulls delivered as close as possible and in a time frame that works for both parties. Iron Fist has to be appreciated for his calm demeanor combined with an undeniable herd bull presence. He’s a big boy and weaned off his recipient momma at 1000 pounds then he followed that up with an actual weight of 1495 pounds on January 7. Ironman patterns in really closely with his brothers, his little splash of colour is about all that separates them. Again, he possesses all the power and mass that one would expect in a Simmental herd sire while being very fluid in his movement. Masterplan is a bull that needs to be seen in the flesh! Really strong bull here, very proud through that front end. He just has a look that demands attention. Use Masterplan on your cows to add some major pounds to your next calf crop come sale time. This is the first year we have had Milestone sired calves for sale and they have done well for us, with a sister to Masterplan selling in this past Friday Night Lights sale to W2 Livestock at Vermilion. Long Range is another heavyweight from the black bull pen. It’s hard to believe that he is a heifer’s first calf. He weaned off his two year old momma at 980 pounds! He is a really soggy bellied bull with added thickness which contributes to his impressive performance on the scale. We have used his sire, Cowboy Cut, in our heifer pen for a few years now. He is a go-to bull for us because few sires can calve as easy as he does while weaning as heavy as his calves do. A true curve bender in our minds. Homo Polled, Hetero Black.

Another Cowboy Cut sired bull here, also out of a first calf heifer. Really great EPD numbers across the board. If numbers are your game, for sure take a look here. Stockman was born with a nice 86 pound birth weight, which is right in the range we aim for on our heifers, not too big, but big enough to push down the scale come fall. Stockman has some extra extension through that front end and a really nice smooth shoulder on him. His Cobra dam has outstanding udder quality and ample milk supply, a really nice female that will be around here for a long time! Homo Polled, Homo Black.

Black Flame is an embryo calf stemming from the most prolific cow family at McIntosh Livestock, the Pocahontas family. In 2015, a full sister to Black Flame was a popular heifer calf at Agribition being slapped Reserve Senior Heifer Calf Champion, then was a high seller at the Agribition Sale later that day. That next year we flushed her dam back the same way. We ended up with six heifers and four bulls. Black Flame is the only bull that was solid black hided and he tested homo black to boot! Two of his sisters sold at Agribition in 2017 going to, Rafter 4-T Farms, AB. and Kevin Carson, B.C. Judging by the performance of Black Flame’s dam, grand dam and sisters, I would say it’s a pretty safe bet that he will make some sweet replacement females. Homo Polled, Homo Black

Every year it seems that bull buyers are searching for red calving ease bulls and this year we were fortunate enough to have three bulls that were unassisted births from first calf heifers that patterned together very well. So we chose them for our Agribition Pen of Bulls, where they garnered a lot of attention at the Bull Pen Alley Show and at the SSGA People’s Choice Show and Mixer.

We are very excited for the future of this guys young Bootlegger dam. She is a smaller framed cow, but can really raise a calf! Gunman comes from the same cow family as our feature red Predestined son Lot 15. Maternal power runs strong in this guy’s pedigree and it really blended well with the maternal power of the TNT Gunner sire. Very moderate birth weight on Gunman at 75 pounds! Wild Bill again sports a very maternally oriented pedigree, being out of the popular Kuntz Sheriff bull and a young Red Mountain dam with a bright future. Wild Bill’s EPD’s are pretty much as good as it gets if you are looking for ease of calving, +18.0 for calving ease combined with a -2.1 for birth weight! Boulder was the most power oriented calf in our pen of three. He is sired by the Equalizer bull, whom we have been using for many years. He really stamps his sons all the same, great hair, great rib shape, great hip shape, the list goes on. Starting off at 88 pounds Boulder really poured it on from there, weaning off his young Spartan dam at 910 pounds! There’s real herd bull presence about this bull, he’ll be easy to find on sale day. Alcatraz is a special bull for us as he is the last calf we will have from his dam who was a really great producer for us here at McIntosh Livestock. Unfortunately we lost the cow this summer but she weaned off a really nice one in this bull. Sheriff Woody, as we affectionately call him, is a very soft sided, loose hided bull. He’s an extremely mellow and easy keeping guy. For the past three years now we have bred our fullblood heifers to Salton and he has proven to be an easy calver, yet those calves perform very well. The Gronk is a tank. He is exceptionally deep made with a tremendous amount of rib shape. He is a stout, wide based bull with a tremendous hip, beautiful hair coat and a quiet disposition. He has a lot of character and style to him and carries himself proudly. The Gronk has been a head turner from day one. His dam is a flush mate to Super Duty and Conspiracy and you can see that in the amount of overall depth and body mass that she has passed on to her son. These three bulls are the result of a flush we did on our red, polled Congo daughter, 1030X. We feel she is a model cow that has been a consistent producer of sound, thick, soft made cattle with eye appeal. This cross with Westcott has produced her stoutest sons yet. They are stocky, heavy muscled bulls that are loose hided and easy doing. They are also some of the quietest bulls in the pen. Two of these are solid colored, while 30E has a blaze face like his mother. Homo polled tests are pending.

If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.
Announcements...
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.
Breeder’s Guarantee...
All bulls sold are guaranteed breeders by the owners. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull. Should any bull fail to be an unsatisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value or a credit will be given toward the purchase of another bull. If you have a problem with your bull, please notify us immediately. Under no circumstances will the seller be liable for more than the purchase price of the animal.
Exception Guarantee...
In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
Certificate of Registration...
Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Liabilities...
All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder.
Rights and Obligations...
The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
Phone, Mail, Wire Bids...
Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, mail or wire their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
Delivery...
We will assist in arranging transportation wherever possible. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. $100 rebate on bulls taken home sale day. Bulls must be insured by buyer.
Insurance...
Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
Errors...
All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supercede any written material in the catalogue. The seller reserves the right to draw semen from any bull in the sale for in-herd use only. The collection will be at the purchaser’s convenience and the seller’s expense.
