Enlightenment

Interestingly, so many of my clients this year have come asking about their purpose in this life. There is an increasing number of people who are looking to open up their third eye of intuition and desire to connect with the greater knowledge of the universal mind.

Here we are in the 21 Century and still, we celebrate a phenomenon which happened over two thousand years ago.

No matter what your beliefs, we can all feel the joyous energy in the celebration that something magnificent happens this time of year. Whether you say happy holidays or Merry Christmas when greeting each other, in our hearts we are reaching out with a positive and loving energy.

This is the season of busy schedules filled with shopping, parties, and family gatherings, it is exciting anticipating the big day! However, we must not become so busy that we skip our time of reflection and prayer.

This is the time you need to renew your spiritual awareness while giving thanks and asking for forgiveness. God blessed the people of Earth with his only begotten son to light up our lives with hope wherein he gave us the gift of being forgiven.

Now that we have entered into this new century we find that people are falling away from traditional beliefs. With adversity comes renewed faith; I believe that we are entering into an age of spiritual enlightenment. We are becoming more aware of faith without traditional protocols and dogma of religion, instead, people are discovering that God is much more and cannot be contained by only one religion. With this new understanding, many are finding their connection with the universal mind of God becomes stronger. For those of you who connect to the universal mind through your intuition, prayer or meditation, you have the same access to everyone on Earth as those that search the web-but with an extended calling range to the outer world and spirit, this growing acceptance of spirit connection is helping people strengthen their faith, accepting that we are more than just physical beings.

Make this coming year a time to develop your intuition and connection with the universal mind of God and spirit. Start with meditation, prayer or just quiet reflection as all your answers come from trusting in your connection to God. Start with quieting the noise of life and listen to your answers. I have been blessed with the gift of clairvoyance and awareness of my connection with spirit since I was very young, I knew my purpose early in life was to share the wisdom of God and light up the life path of those that I read, so that they can better navigate their physical Earth experience.

You may ask, how can this be done? Start with being open and just ask for God’s wisdom on how to deal with a problem that faces you. Be very specific about your request, but beware that the answer you get maybe much different from what you want or expect. It can be difficult to receive an answer from Gods wisdom that does not seem to solve your issue or expectation.

This is why at times you need to seek out someone who can open their intuition and connection to God, someone who does not have any expectations, but to only bring forth information that spirit and the Universal mind wants to share. I have learned to never argue or doubt the wisdom of the God and the highest spiritual beings.

I teach my psychic development students to always keep the questions to the universe simple and direct. Such as, if you need a question answered of your higher self, don’t make it complicated nor be set in your ways as to what you want the outcome to be. Have faith in God’s wisdom.

Life is not eternal on Earth; we are growing our faith through experiences so that we will have an eternal life with God. Remember: For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only SON, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 I believe that when God sent his only son to Earth, it was to deliver the gift of forgiveness and to open our connection to the universal mind of God, helping us evolve our souls.

Jingle Bells

“Dashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh O’er the fields we go Laughing all the way...”

“Jingle Bells”, one of the world’s most famous American songs, was written

by James Lord Pierpont (1822–1893), and was originally published under the title, “One Horse Open Sleigh” in the autumn of 1857.

On wintery days in the 1800s, bells were attached to the straps of a horse’s harness as a precaution to warn pedestrians and avoid collisions with other sleighs and carriages. Horse-drawn sleighs make little noise in the snow and are difficult to stop suddenly. The musical rhythm of the bells coincides with the horses’ trot.

On December 16, 1965, “Jingle Bells” was the first song broadcast from outer space. As a humorous prank, Gemini 6 astronauts Tom Stafford and Wally Schirra played ‘smuggled’ sleigh bells and a 1” x 3/8” harmonica, sending their ‘cosmic’ rendition to Mission Control!

I have spent a lot of time with both, healthy & unhealthy individuals, observing their habits, behavior, challenges, and aspirations in life. By just listening closely to their personal story a picture begins to form brilliantly to describe their past to the present. All strong inherent beliefs carry information that has the tendency to symbolically show up in a localized area in the BODY. How? Thoughts are energy and when contemplating on a certain thought long enough it begins to create a dense pattern, and thus matter is born. The matter is nothing more than condensed energy.

ONE cannot escape their thoughts ONLY change them. And so this internal struggle, with a self-inflicted belief system, follows the ONE in question UNTIL a permanent reminder can be imprinted to the physical BODY; at which time the subconscious has filed away the data. THE BODY is an autobiographical story that speaks in detail on the hiSTORY/ herStory of its thinker.

So why is healing often met with resistance from the ALLOPATHIC community as well as the HOLISTIC circle? After years of studying hundreds of cases, a pattern emerges that can not be denied. The BODY is the effect and ‘NOT the cause’ due from years of repetitive thinking brought on by a belief system that is not conducive to a vibrantly healthy lifestyle. It is ‘emotional trauma’ from the past that creates the blueprint that is then downloaded into the flesh. Everything that is written in the MIND transfers to the BODY over a period of time.

A healthy BODY begins in the MIND and Heart. When ‘sincerely’ forgiving the past with gratitude & unconditional LOVE this beautiful energy begins to transform those harmful energetic patterns into favorable ones. Beliefs create the blueprint. You can NOT only FORGIVE all your yesterdays but more importantly, you must FEEL the loving emotion that is created by this powerful EMOTION. It is this feeling that good feeling hormones are released and begins its journey to bathe the BODY back to a healthy state.

Love your PAST, FUTURE, and PRESENT with the same admiration. LIFE is only an expression of the MIND. Always My Best!

Helping Regain a Zest for Living

Some time ago I had a new client come in for a consultation on structural integration (aka, Rolfing). His name was Walter. Walter explained to me that he was 93 years old and still working six days a week as an architect. He designed churches.

He told me when he turned 70 years old; he decided it was time for him to get into shape. So, he started working out regularly three nights a week. When I saw him 23 years later, he was still working our regularly three nights a week, yet he was concerned that he was starting to lean forward and his posture seemed to be collapsing. In other words, he had a forward head posture, rounded shoulders and a shortening of core abdominal muscles.

When he first came to see me, he was approximately five feet eight inches tall.

By the time we were finished with his ten-session series, he had gained an additional three-quarter of an inch in height.

Walter reported much more energy and spring to his step. He was standing taller and he had a lot more lift at a deep core level of his body. His torso was no longer collapsing on his pelvis. He was now more agile, able to move more easily and walk with significantly more freedom.

What had happened to Walter?

No matter what their age, people who have a similar structural and postural issue to Walter’s may be experiencing a variety of issues with their pelvic diaphragm. In women, this may express itself as a prolapsed uterus, incontinence, sexual issues, pain and other concerns. Some of the things in men it can cause are lower back problems, sexual performance and functional issues like incontinence.

The ultimate goal is to help a person eliminate their symptoms and regain their December 2017

sense of living in a body that cooperates with the demands they put on it. And, as in Walter’s case, rather than feeling like an old building ready to collapse, help him feel like one of the new buildings he has just designed.

In a much different situation, a professional basketball player came to me who was experiencing a chronic hamstring injury. This condition was limiting his performance. To compensate for the pain he was experiencing, he developed some patterns that ultimately reduced his ability to play to his full potential. It was resulting in a “losing game” (pun intended) for him.

* Shoulders rounded and tense? * Are you less flexible than you use to be? * Chronic hip, neck or lower back pain? * Does your body feel beaten down & compressed?

He was now among the many professional athletes, who despite an exercise regimen to prevent injuries had sustained a career-threatening chronic injury. Through Structural Integration, we were able to address the injury he was dealing with, eventually heal and strengthen his hamstrings, and add several more years on to his career.

In summary, people of all ages use Structural Integration to create better poster, get in alignment, help heal injuries and offset their structural imbalances to find a new zest for life.

Gift Giving and the Gift of Self

When I reflect back on past holidays, the memories that jump forward in my mind are the moments of laughter; the family movie nights when we gathered together to watch Christmas favorites; the evenings when we would drive around the neighborhood enjoying the holiday light displays with a warm bowl of popcorn; and, the hours spent rolling out and decorating cookies with our daughters. Even if I tried, I really couldn’t list out all of the many different gifts that were exchanged over the years. My most cherished memories have nothing to do with the packages that were opened, and everything to do with the heart-to-heart moments that were shared as a family.

Most people begin the annual hunt for gifts by the time Halloween has passed. They spend a large portion of their free time fighting crowded parking lots and shopping malls as they spend their money on “things” that, for many, end up leaving them in debt for months to come. The entire process, from start to finish, leaves many feeling exhausted, stressed out and frustrated.

Quite a few years ago, we decided to take a vacation over the Christmas holiday, instead of exchanging gifts, and place the emphasis on spending time together. Our daughters, who were in their late teens, were surprisingly on-board with the idea of eliminating gifts that year. I could never have anticipated what happened next.

travel, we all agreed to forego the presents, once again, and enjoy a more low-key, relaxed holiday season. When we made a conscious decision to stop exchanging gifts, it was as if a deep sigh of relief washed over us. Each year, we incorporated new, fun activities that became family traditions which, I’m happy to say, are now being carried down to our grandchildren. On Christmas day, we now take time as a family to worship, share a delicious meal, watch our favorite holiday movies and play games together.

Think back to your most favorite Christmas memories and see what comes to mind. Then, ask yourself what your holiday might look like if you chose to ignore the commercialism and gave the gift of love & togetherness.

At a time when so many people are allowing social media and the quest to become successful to alienate them from those they care about, it’s more important than ever to make an effort to reconnect and give the gift of togetherness. These are the gifts that we hold on to forever. These are the gifts that we carry forward, from this life to the next.

Who Are You Really?

Many people’s self-esteem is tied to who they think they are on the physical plane. This doesn’t, however, consider who you might really be. The late Wayne Dyer would often say that the ego is the “false self,” and that you are spiritual beings having a human experience. If this is true, why do so many people think they are the ego and totally ignore who they really may be? If you are not the ego, then who are you really?

Anita Moorjani, who wrote Dying to Be Me, reported she had a near-death experience, and saw her father and her best friend, who had died several years prior to this, on the other side. She stated that they were in a different form, but were much more loving and that their ego was not present on that side. She came back from the other side with tremendous energy and was even able to cure her life-threatening cancer in a very short time.

This gives credence to the belief that you are much more than how you typically see yourself. She now travels the world and gives talks about what it was like on the other side. She speaks of unconditional love and abandoning judgment toward one another. She also says you are all part of the “Cosmic Energy Source.” In other words, you are merged with love, truth, and beauty. If this is really who you are, should you not identify with this magnificent, loving part of yourself as opposed to the mere ego?

The late Dolores Cannon, hypnotherapist, who used to communicate with guides or beings on the other side, would often say that our egos “don’t know anything.” So many people are stuck in the belief that the ego is who they are and that they need to make life decisions based on this belief. But, if the guides and yogis and other realized beings say this is not so, then why not dare to believe that there is much more to you? If you truly are a part of the Divine, the Source of everything, or as some say “a drop in the ocean,“ then why not incorporate

this into your belief about yourself? If you are love, truth, beauty, wisdom and more, then why do you accept negative ideas about yourself, such as being inadequate, unworthy, or simply not good enough? If you are these magnificent beings, then your self-esteem should be soaring rather than so insufficient.

What keeps so many people stuck in these unhealthy beliefs which result in low self-esteem? Often the problem is that past negative belief prevents you from seeing and appreciating who you really are. When growing up, so many people received negative messages about who they were. Often parents, siblings, teachers, or others would say things that were hurtful and left you feeling less than adequate. Unfortunately, after hearing these negative statements, you started to believe them.

Unless you challenged them, they are still running your life.

Paramahansa Yogananda, a very advanced being, used to say you are Lions, not lambs, so why act as if you were a lamb.

You are a beautiful magnificent being and yet you accept very negative and limiting beliefs about yourself. These are not only untrue, but they lead to what Henry David Thoreau used to call “leading lives of quiet desperation.” It is time to identify these negative beliefs and replace them with much healthier more rational beliefs. By doing so, you will greatly change not only how you feel about yourself, but the quality of your life.

One excellent way to accomplish this is with the use of hypnosis. Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind, which is where so many of these beliefs are located. With hypnosis, you can find the negative beliefs which are adversely affecting you and then replace them with healthy beliefs. You deserve to feel good about yourself.

Holiday Food Survival Guide

The holidays are upon us again - and in my world that is fantastic. I love all the festive lights, decorations, and special foods. These holiday joys are as special to me now as they were in the past because of time spent with family and friends during the holidays. Some people think good memories are only made in plentiful times but it’s often the process of making things work in tough times that even sweeter memories are made.

No matter what’s going on in your world, I wish you the best of holidays - the kind of holidays that feed your soul with wonderful memories for years to come.

Besides feeding your soul, the holidays usually include feeding your body with all the delicacies of the season. The sharing of food is always a big part of holiday festivities. When you look through your mind’s eye into the past, can you see and perhaps even taste some of your favorite foods? For many people, these special holiday foods are what they remember most.

In almost every culture, special occasions revolve around food. In our society, people eat for social or entertainment reasons on a daily basis.

While the social aspect of eating is important, it’s essential to provide your body with the nutrition it needs. Problems begin when food unknowingly becomes entertainment.

Now go back to your oldest memories of holidays… Were you able to eat large amounts of delicious, sometimes decadent foods, yet not feel terrible afterward? It’s likely that you didn’t even gain more than a couple pounds after indulging in those holiday foods. Ah yes, those were the days!

What’s different? Why does every New Year have to start out with a diet and/or a detoxification program? The answer is that our bodies are trying to adapt 14

An inexpensive way to obtain many of the minerals needed by the body is by eating real salt. I’m not talking about the common table salt that was redefined by the National Academy of Food Sciences in 1999 as being 98% sodium chloride and 2% anything else; and for the record, I agree with my medical friends on the dangers of this processed table salt. The difference is that real salt contains a variety of minerals so it has a far different effect on the body.

to today’s foods. When we’re eating processed foods filled with hormones and excitotoxins we usually gain weight. Fat storage areas in the body must also increase to protect us from the dangerous toxins in our food and environment.

Over the holidays treats seem to be everywhere. One of the biggest differences between today’s treats and those of the past are the sweeteners used in them or to decorate them. In the past, foods were often sweetened with sorghum, molasses, or raw honey.

If you’re not familiar with the first two ingredients, I believe they’ll become your friends when you are baking after you get to know them. They can make foods more sweet and interesting while increasing nutritional value.

Celtic Sea Salt obtained from the coast of France and harvested in the ancient Celtic tradition is our first choice because it contains 60 to 80 different minerals.

Himalayan salt is also good but doesn’t provide as many minerals as the Celtic.

Being millions of years old, Himalayan salt contains fewer minerals because it had less time to accumulate them. It was the salt left behind when the ocean in that part of the world dried up. Hmmm…I wonder if they called that global warming.

White refined sugar and all artificial sugars are completely devoid of nutrition, whereas natural sweeteners such as raw cane sugar, coconut sugar, and real maple syrup provide minerals. For my patients with cancer and diabetes, I recommend inositol, a B-vitamin that is a safe sweetener.

While real salt with naturally occurring minerals is a healthy addition to most diets, a small percentage of people with high blood pressure are allergic to salt. Enjoying fall - Embracing Winter!

By Pat Krajovic I love this time of year. What is better than the sun-filled, crisp air days, cool nights and colorful leaves? This season conjures up trips to the apple orchard, cider sipping and maybe (OK, there is no maybe) indulging in cinnamon doughnuts. Leaf raking, mums and pumpkins complete the scene. There is an anticipation of the winter that lies ahead, while we enjoy the cool crops of the season. Sounds idyllic!

But a lot of people are experiencing stress and anxiety in the state of life as we know it. The recent shootings in Las Vegas left folks feeling stunned, unsafe, fearful and worried. Couple that with Mother Nature’s contribution of powerful storms, and erratic weather patterns, and one wonders what is coming next.

We cannot control what happens out there. All we can do is understand that it is a reflection of what is inside. Consider this to be true, but how is this so?

This concept is one of the seven principles of Hermes Trismegistus, author of Hermetic Corpus, who states “As Within, So Without, As above, So below.”

The “As Within” is a what we think within ourselves, which will be reflected in our “So Without” worldview or what we see outside ourselves. “As above” means As In Heaven or in our own mind and is reflected as the “So Below” or So On Earth which is experienced in our body or environment.

In other words, if we are happy, we see and live happily. If we are angry, in despair, stress, and fear, we see only those things that will give us more anger, despair, and fear. As Wayne Dwyer said, “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.”

With that in mind, let’s decide. Do we want to continue to live and help create the stress, chaos, drama, anger, and fear we see around us OR do we want to be the creator of peace, faith, unconditional love, and prosperity? We can’t be in stress and create peace. We must be peace for there to be peace in the world. Yes, I did say that you are the Creator! We create our reality!

So, let’s make a practice of stopping the thoughts that produce the feelings of dis-ease. Through the power of our breath, combined with meditation, we can stop the mind chatter and maintain a state of presence, peace, and optimism.

When thoughts take us out of the flow, let’s agree to do the following practice: Take a timeout. Take a long, slow, deliberate exhale.

As you exhale, intend to let go of the thoughts and feelings that disturb you.

Pause. Inhale fully into the space you created.

Intend to fill the space with love. Pause.

Repeat this process 4 or 5 times or until you feel peace and presence.

Change begins with each one of us. We have no control over others or what is going on “out there”. We can only control what is going on “in here”. Be the change you want to see. Change your inner landscape and what you experience out there will change. Be the 100th monkey! We never know where the tipping point is. Let’s commit to practice this and bring peace and love to our world.

At this holiday time of year, many spiritual traditions celebrate the return of the light. But what does this mean and where is the light returning to?

The light is returning to us. Its purpose, our purpose, is to illumine the depths of our subconscious and reveal the judgments and illusions of separation we have buried. Once revealed they can be removed. Without the veil of illusion, we can clearly see the truth of who we are.

When you choose to allow the light to return, you are in alignment with the flow of the Universe. Everything in your life changes. It changes because you imbue everything you do with the truth of who you are and you recognize this truth in others.

You recognize the All-in-All in everything. You are in communion with all of life.

As I write this, I cannot think of anything you could do that would serve a higher purpose and bring more joy to your life. In everything, choose to bring love and light to it, the gifts you buy, the people you give them to, the work you do, the judgments you make. It all deserves your love and light.

Have you ever given a gift out of obligation because you felt you had too? How did that feel when compared to giving a gift that you wanted to give which was enthused with love and joy? The gift you gave is neutral. It is just stuff. What is not neutral is the quality of energy you choose to imbue the stuff with.

This extends to the doing as well; earning money for the gift, buying the gift, wrapping the gift, giving the gift, paying the bill for the gift. What matters is the energy you choose to infuse the gift with.

your day but especially upon awakening and before sleep affirm the following: “I am the light of the world. That is my only function. That is why I am here.”

Reflect on the statement for a few minutes with your eyes closed. If your mind wanders, repeat the statement.

a little short. Oh, we do try though, don’t we? Don’t give up either.

I have a suggestion. This is definitely a season of change, and since every season is a season of love, let’s look hard at ourselves and try to locate our inner selves, more specifically, our inner child because the child is much of what this season is really about.

Veteran’s Day, Daylight Savings Time is over. We’re back on regular time. Good grief it’s dark—what happened? Oh yes, fall, winter is on its way Did we forget just how dark it can be in the mornings and afternoons? I almost always do. As I write this it is dark, cloudy, and raining outside. There will be snow in a few weeks, perhaps sooner! Oh, we can look forward to that.

Or can we?

As many of you know, the 25th of December many, many years ago was a big pagan holiday celebrating religions.

Constantine, a Roman Emperor declared that the people would celebrate the birth of Christ on that day in the hopes that they would behave themselves a little better. It was felt that solidifying things a little might be a considerable social improvement. Even though the birth of Christ is or was in March or was it May? It doesn’t really matter. Then there is Hanukkah the Festival of Lights in December as well, and no doubt there will be a full moon which will add to everyone feeling a little out of sync. There is always the first day of winter, plus Kwanzaa, and Boxing Day in Canada. To all of you reading this you may or may not celebrate any of these holidays, or for all I know, you may celebrate them all.

However, whether you do or not you will likely be caught up in the spirit of the various celebrations and parties where there may be a pouring out of love and good spirit. All too often there is more of a pouring out of too much spirit(s) and love becomes something that most of us try to get with, but somehow fall just

Our inner child never disappears entirely and it is a wonderful thing to revisit and nurture it as often as we can especially at this time of year when we need rejuvenating the most. Unless some of us have plans to careen down a snow-laden hill on skis in the bright, winter sunshine on a crisp, beautiful winter’s day at a cozy, winter resort…wake up.

Probably most of us are going to continue trudging along, trying to make this THE best holiday season ever because we are supposed to. Who said that? I have no idea, but I am here to tell you that everyone has a lovely, entertaining, peaceful and/ or beautiful inner child waiting to be found somewhere in our beings regardless of how difficult it has become to “deck the halls with balls of holly” with the spirit of yesteryear.

Sometimes when we revisit our inner child, we may find issues and feelings that remain unresolved. It takes a lot of effort and energy to suppress who we really are, and also who we were, where we came from, and how we got to where we are today.

But, as adults, we believe that it is necessary to suppress much of our joy in order to behave as an adult should. More likely if we relax into it and keep things in perspective, as we were more able to when we were young, then this beautiful holiday season will be exactly that. Beautiful.

Easy? No. When we were very young and began to make simple drawings or scribbles to communicate or to express ourselves, we were as near to perfect as possible and reconnecting with that segment of ourselves can always be a good thing. It is attainable.

If the holiday season does not allow you time to do everything on your most important list, which most likely many of us would like to tear up, then consider taking 15-20 minutes of time to make a special holiday card for yourself or for a loved one. On your way to or from the mall, stop at the dollar store and pick up a box of crayons or markers. When you get home from the madness of the season find a special place where you can be alone for an amount of time. You may find that you will want to stay in this magic spot for longer than planned. That’s okay, too.

Especially at this time this magnificent, wonderful holiday season, you may run into some issues that just won’t leave you in peace. While you are at the dollar store pick up a couple of votive candles to get you through the season because I recently read that instead of complaining one should light a candle. Quiet Your Mind “Brain Dump Meditation”

Quieting the mind of the overthinkers, the fidgeters, and those who have a hard time slowing down!

Let’s face it we live in a fast-paced and chaotic world. Whether we are absorbing what we see on the news and social media, or trying to maintain some sanity juggling our careers, our health, our family and social lives, and any other obligations we are tied to, it can be extremely difficult to “quiet the mind” and come up for air!

Before I began my yoga and meditation practice, I was completely unaware of the mind-body connection and the impact that a consistent mindfulness practice could have in my entire life. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, lack of confidence, feeling overwhelmed, etc. I have learned that although it may be DIFFICULT... it is NECESSARY to give our minds a break in order to RECHARGE once in awhile!

Meditation and deep breathing practices are only components of “mindful living” but they are powerful tools to incorporate into our daily lives.

Some benefits of meditation and deep breathing include: -

One of my favorite go-to meditations when I am overthinking, feeling anxious, and/or having a hard time slowing down is called the BRAIN DUMP Meditation!

Try this exercise for 5-10 minutes to bring clarity to your thoughts and help you prioritize where you are spending your energy. w w w. B o d y M i n d S p i r i t G U I D E . c o m

Supplies: Journal, pen, peace and quiet!

Set Up: • With your journal and pen nearby, start seated upright in a comfortable position.

• Lengthen the spine, relax the shoulders and close the eyes.

• Start by taking a few deep, clearing breaths, inhaling through the nose, exhaling out of the mouth, setting the stage for your meditation.

• Once you feel settled, keeping your eyes closed, put your pen to the paper and begin to write!

• Allow yourself to be completely open to whatever comes up for you, and write it down on the paper without judgment!

• Different thoughts, images, and ideas may start to come up for you, write them ALL down as they surface. You can write sentences, words and/or draw pictures (anything that accurately portrays what is going on in your mind).

• After you spend some time “journaling” gently blink the eyes open and reflect on what you see.

• This can serve as a great visual representation of what has been taking up space in your mind and where you have been spending your energy!

• After you are finished processing the meditation, take a few deep breaths and close your journal.

• Come back to this meditation whenever you need to find clarity.

Seasonal Rituals

‘Tis the season when we wrap up, not only gifts for those we love, but also on a personal note we wrap up this year’s goals and projects, and prepare to birth the intentions of the coming year. Ritual can be an enriching tool to bring these processes clearly to focus in a very satisfying way. Ritual is both spiritual and physical, and in unifying these two levels it becomes a powerful tool for releasing, renewing and re-creating ourselves.

I love fire for the transformational aspects of ritual; it can be anything from a bonfire to a tiny candle flame. Fire is a clear representative of the love of the One Source of Life. It is also a powerful tool for letting go. The first goal of a seasonal ritual is release – of what is old, what you don’t need or want anymore, what has been hurtful, or what was wonderful but has passed away. To accomplish this goal fire is my first choice. The flames burn things up – truly transmutational – and the rising smoke can help lift prayers and intentions to our Higher Selves

and the One Source.

For our second goal, birthing intentions for the coming year, I prefer water – though smoke could be used instead as mentioned previously. Water is the substance out of which life is born, it is the ultimate receiver and nurturer of true intentions. As scientifically shown through the work of Masaru Emoto who wrote The Hidden Messages in Water – water responds in very definite ways to the thoughts and intentions we put into it.

There are many ways you could do a seasonal ritual, and many tools and intentions you may employ. Here is a suggestion for a ritual employing fire and water to clear the old and birth the new: Part 1 - Release First, build your fire with whatever resources you have to do so. If you don’t have a fire-pit or a fireplace, you could use a candle. But since we are going to burn things put a candle or tea light into a metal container (aluminum pan or other) and add sand or soil to hold the candle, receive the ashes of what you burn and insulate your flooring from the heat.

Then cut paper squares of 2 or 3 inches from white or color paper, as many as you may need to release the things you wish to let go. You may wish to let go of pasts events or relationships, completed goals, or goals you no longer wish to complete, you may choose to release your gratitude or your pain, love or hatred, fears and worries, your judgments and disappointments, or the younger you who was less mature – in favor of the newer and more mature self you are ready to experience. The list of things to release are very personal and you may define this, however, is right for you.

On each square, write something you wish to release and then roll or fold it and tie it on a long piece of yarn or string. Honor the thing you are releasing – meditate on what you learned from it, what you have gained from it, or what you have given away to it that you need December 2017

to take back. Then ask yourself is there anything else I need to learn or do to complete my contract so when I release this into the fire I am finished with it. Give thanks for it if you are able to do so.

Then knot the individual paper squares onto your string or yarn at intervals so you end up with a string of things to release.

When you are ready, release the string prayerfully into the fire. You can quietly meditate, or dance, chant, play a drum or other instrument or sing as you watch these things burn and let them go.

Part 2 – Birth Get a clear glass jar or pitcher and fill it with the purest water you have.

On a piece of paper write the intentions you carry for the coming year. These can be outer goals or inward ones.

Tape this to the jar and set it in a sunny place for two or more hours.

Think of this as intentions tea! When it is done drink a glass with an open heart and mind, allowing the unconditional love of the universe to bless you and support your intentions in the way which serves your greatest good. Be open to things working out in unexpected ways and times. To learn more about this technique read The Hidden Messages in Water.

You can prepare Part 2 so it is ready as you finish Part 1 and you can toast yourself with gifts of rebirth! Then as you enter the new year, cross that threshold with an open heart and welcome the unconditional love of the universe to come with you.

The Holidays on Spice

By Deborah Lieder The holidays are here and we are often filled with nostalgic thoughts of coming together with family and friends. Spiced cider and doughnuts, hot chocolate, eggnog, or hot buttered rum fill our glasses as we commune. What if you want to enjoy a seasonal drink that has medicinal benefits as well? Golden milk, also known as turmeric tea, is one of those such drinks. It gives the feeling of being around the warm fire, with a little bit of spice, and is also quite nurturing and healing.

Milk has a delightful zest that makes it a perfect drink for the holidays. And who knows, it may become that drink that you simply can’t live without.

Golden Milk 2 c. of milk, your preference (dairy, coconut, almond, rice) 1 t. turmeric

Turmeric is an herb in the ginger family with amazing health benefits. It is known as a blood purifier, supports blood circulation, helps brain function, and acts to soothe respiratory ailments. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle and even restores blood loss after childbirth or injury. When it is combined with cumin and coriander, which is traditional in most Indian dishes such as curry, turmeric aids in the digestion of complex carbohydrates. Golden Milk is also quite comforting before bed, helping you relax and improve your sleep. Perhaps the most valuable component is the yellow pigment curcumin. Curcumin is an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agent as well as a cardiovascular and gastrointestinal aid. This can help with arthritis, heart disease, cancer, even memory loss and Alzheimer’s.

½ t. cinnamon ¼ t. ginger, ground 1 pinch of black pepper 1 pinch of cayenne pepper, for extra heat 1 t. honey, maple syrup, or sugar of choice (optional) Instructions In a small saucepan, place all ingredients. Heat on medium/mediumlow flame to prevent scorching, whisking every so often. Allow milk to come to a boil and switch off immediately. Drink immediately. Note**If looking for an alcoholic drink, try with a little bit of rum.

Also, pepper is a must as it “activates” the curcumin and increases absorption.

This herb is intensely packed with so many potential benefits for our body.

Those from India attribute turmeric for their beautiful skin and health. The root can be eaten raw, which will lend a mustard-like flavor to your dish, or simply add it in small quantities for its luminescent color. You can even use it to dye your Easter eggs yellow! Golden 22

Mystic Jesus His Radical Message of Love

The Master Jesus came two Centuries ago to herald in the Piscean Age. Each Astrological Age is 2165 years in length going backward through the zodiac from Aries to Pisces to Aquarius, where we are today. During each of these cycles, humanity has the opportunity to learn certain lessons and the lessons for the Age of Pisces were Love, Service, Forgiveness, Healing - very different from lessons uppermost in the previous Age. The Master Jesus embodied the consciousness of that Age with His revolutionary teachings though tragically vitally important doctrines such as karma and reincarnation and healing – the essence of Christianity – are still not accepted in the Orthodox Church. His Teachings were revolutionary in that they were a total change from the previous teachings of “an eye for an eye”.

We know, through the Mediumship of the Spiritual Master who founded The Aetherius Society, Dr. George King (1919-1997), that Jesus was one of several Interplanetary Masters who came to help mankind. He did this powerfully with His self-directed crucifixion and the resulting positive manipulation of the terrible world karma prevalent at that time - the direct result of centuries of bloodshed and chaos by mankind.

Jesus, Godly in nature, had evolved through eons of time into a Cosmic Avatar of Love who understood the deeper mysteries of this power of Creation. Can we imagine the love of a fully conscious Cosmic Adept who would volunteer to be reborn into this world of bloody war and chaos? This was a fraction of the Love of Jesus. His birth was not demanded by the law of birth and rebirth as ours is, in order to slowly and painfully learn the lessons demanded by our karma. His birth was an act of Divine Intervention. It was a gift to us, the undeserving war-like race on Earth: the ultimate gift so that we might continue on our slow journey back to God. The most hopeful and positive news for many of us is that The Master Jesus is still with us today in this Aquarian Age for as He says: “I have never left you…”.

Feng Shui Tips to Welcome in a New Year Filled With Health, Wealth, Happiness and Prosperity

In 2018, Feb. 16 begins the New Year for the Chinese calendar, also called the Lunar New Year because it depends on the moon cycle. The celebration of New Year, also called The Spring Festival, lasts for 15 days and the New Year is on the second New Moon of the year. This year is the Year of the Earth Dog. According to travelchinaguide.com, “Dog is the eleventh in the 12-year cycle. A dog is man’s good friend who can understand the human’s spirit and obey its master, whether he is wealthy or not. The Chinese regard it as an auspicious animal. If a dog happens to come to a house, it symbolizes the coming of fortune.

Here are some tips which are done in the Chinese culture to help bring in an auspicious new year.

The first thing you should do is Clean, Clean, Clean! This not only gets rid of the negative energy that may have accumulated

during the year but it also makes sure your home is clear and fresh and ready to receive all the positive energy for the new year. Be sure you finish this before the first day of the new year.

Next, you need to decorate your home in its best décor. Use lucky red color objects with gold inscriptions with symbols of Happiness, Longevity, Prosperity, Health etc. Use various flowers, according to their meaning, see below. Add in live plants, soothing music, prosperous aromas and all the traditional foods that are served because of their meaning and association with specific energies and on specific days of the long celebration. Some foods you may include are sweet dishes to bring in sweetness into the New Year. Mandarin oranges are essential as they are a symbol of good luck and prosperity. Place a bowl of 9 oranges in your kitchen during this holiday to bring in prosperity and good luck.

You can also decorate Yourself! Getting new clothes honors the new energy of the new year. Choose colors and symbols that honor the zodiac sign of the New Year’s Animal or are representative of good fortune.

Lucky Numbers 8 – sounds like prosper in Chinese 9 – sounds like sufficient in Chinese 4 – sounds like the Chinese word for death and should be avoided.

On the 15th day, which is the Full Moon, is “The Festival of the Lanterns”. This is the final day of the Chinese New Year celebration. People usually light lanterns throughout the streets to bring in good fortune for the new year.

Never clean, cry, argue or do negative things on the New Year day as it may set the tone for the whole new year. Be careful to speak to friends and loved ones to set a positive tone for the year and not to negative people.

Adorn your home, your workplace and your self in all these lucky and auspicious colors and foods to bring in health, wealth and abundance to your new year. Notice that the Chinese New Year is all about sharing, family unity, friends, and giving. Use these tips from the ancient art of Feng Shui will help bring in the energies for a prosperous year ahead. And if you like, you can do it twice! Do it in January AND in February!!! I know I will, you can’t get too much good luck!

Pleasure as a Holiday Gift

How often do you allow pleasure in your body without the help of food, another person or a chemical? Did you know studies have shown an orgasm lowers your stress hormones, resets your immune system and promotes cell rejuvenation?

If someone could put this healing into a pill...they would. However you have this gift at your fingertips! (Literally and figuratively) Why wouldn’t you allow yourself this gift daily?

Maybe you don’t allow yourself this life affirming gift because you don’t know how? Sexual pleasure... like happiness... is a skill; we must study and develop our capacity. It is a myth that pleasure or happiness comes naturally. Most of us simply have not been taught the tools needed to be happy and/or orgasm. How would our life be today, if as a developing child, we had ceremonies to honor our sexual development, learned self-acceptance processes and were taught meditation?!?

Understanding the brokenness of our culture helps a person realize, without shame, their need for support and study.

You are not broken... most our systems are. Just our lack of daily contact with nature, and the fast pace of our materialistic society has created a level of dissociative mental frenzy in most people.

Trusting another is always about trusting yourself. Trusting yourself means listening to your body and discerning a clear “yes” or “no”. The stronger your “no” the deeper your “yes” to joy, orgasm, God, emotional intimacy and commitment can be. This concept may seem contradictory. However, it is only when you root into your space like a huge oak tree, will you feel peacefully One with the forest.

All relationships and sex are a negotiation. Daily developing yourself awareness and self pleasure allows you the capacity to love deep without the fear of losing yourself. Boundaries allow greater pleasure and authentic embodied joy.

Begin to see your emotions as signals that your needs are not being met.

Making this shift with your emotions may require a facilitator. The Silver Thread Feelings, Not Thoughts: The New Mindfulness

When we do this these feelings are displaced, meaning they become manifest in other situations. For example, you feel anger triggered by your boss’ criticism of you, so you come home and kick the dog. The alternative is projection.

With projection, we externalize and see other’s and their action as the cause of problems. For example, we are feeling needy, so we blame our partner for not being more attentive. This puts a demand on a partner to make us feel whole.

By Michael Abramsky In my last column, I spoke of the origins of psychotherapy under Sigmund Freud, and its almost exclusive dependence on cognitive processes such as insight.

Subsequently, most other forms of therapy were Neo-Freudian in that they utilized different conceptual models but still relied on cognitive means as curative.

In 1953 a University of Chicago professor, Eugene Gendlin invented a technique called “Focusing”. Unlike therapies relying on insight Genlin, focused on a “felt sense”. The Felt Sense referred to the emotional relationship to a problem. Gendlin realized that our daily pain came not from problems but from our emotional relationship to that problem. His psychotherapy became focused on changing the Felt Sense through which we related to our issues.

Under Gendlin, the therapeutic task was, for example, to relate to a problem from a position of calm rather than fear.

Subsequently “mindfulness” based therapies also began to focus on changing our emotional relation to a problem, not just engaging in thinking or problem solving itself. A paradigm was developed.

1) An event occurs. That event either pleases us or displeases. The

psychologist Jack Engler called it a “hedonistic appraisal”. Pleasing or displeasing means that it either meets our pre-existing desires or defies them.

For example, we wish our partner to compliment us, but he does not. This discrepancy between our desire and what occurs is felt in our body, in an unpleasant way. It then gives rise to a cognitive narrative, such as “he does not love me”.

Psychotherapy must focus on three processes.

1) Cognitive narratives help us understand “triggers” or the reasons why certain events or actions cause us suffering. This involves knowledge of our history and the proximate cause of problems.

2) The Cognitive narrative and bodily sensation collude to produce a feeling such as anger, fear, disappointment or sadness. Feelings are blends of cognitive narratives and bodily sensations.

2) Going inward to examine feelings that are occurring, rather than projecting or repressing is the primary healing tool.

We consciously focus on what we are feeling. rather than blame or avoid. We learn to label our feelings and hold them until they naturally transform

3) We then identify with the bodymind narrative. It takes us over and we obsess about it. Our mind drifts to the past and all the times we have been hurt, our mind drifts to the future and the disaster ahead. Narratives of destruction, revenge, abject sadness, worry, and unlovability dominate.

3) We engage in observing our bodily sensations. Tight, loose; hot, cold, light, heavy. And we experience them fully, observing, them, and watching them come and go... Engaging in physical activities like yoga with self-awareness or other self-observation exercises aids in breaking the cycle of destructive narratives.

4) Contact with unpleasant experiences bring up all of the old feelings and trigger an accumulation of all the past similar negative experiences. Our mind is similar to a hard drive. Once we have an experience it is stored, waiting for the trigger of a like experience to bring it to consciousness. Our feelings are really an accumulation of all past experiences.

We chronically over-react. Clinically this overreaction is called being symptomatic.

Have you ever been labeled by someone else? Of course, you have! We all have, in some way or other been labeled.

This past month this idea has come up as I was with some people who spoke about “mental illness.” Also, family gatherings are coming, and family members often create labels for other family members. At first, I was very confused. Later, realizing that I actually work with a population that could be labeled “mentally ill,” I also realized I did not and do not see people as being that.

It appears that many who are diagnosed with a “mental illness” wrap their whole lives around the diagnosis and sometimes make their lives about that. The same is true with labels like “smart, cancer, stupid, fat, thin, nice...”. I often see those who are diagnosed as depressed, anxious, PTSD, and OCD. My take on it is that we all can be a little of all of these, and sometimes we just happen to be in a place at the time we may have been “diagnosed” where those feelings and thoughts are overriding our lives and so becomes a temporary issue to be worked through. Similar to life.

And, a lot of labels we may accept, possibly because we were too young, unconnected with our true self, or for whatever reason, we were susceptible to receiving them, they aren’t necessarily about us. Like when a bully calls someone “stupid” who is actually intelligent, but the bully is insecure himself? That person, when they are confident and connected with their true self wouldn’t accept that label, especially if they have friendly or parental support.

A Life of Gratitude

Here are 60 things to be grateful for in life:

1. Your parents – for giving birth to you.

Because if there is no them, there will not be you.

Definition of Gratitude — the feeling of deep appreciation.

In this season of holidays, no matter the belief or religion, they all have things in common; peace, love, believing in a higher power and gratitude.

2. Your family – for being your closest kin in the world.

3. Your friends – for being your companions in life.

Expressing daily gratitude is one of the best ways to help your mind and body feel and believe in good. No matter how small or how big, acknowledging what is good in your life should be a daily practice.

4. Sense of sight – for letting you see the colors of life.

5. Sense of hearing – for letting you hear trickle of rain, the voices of your loved ones, and the harmonious chords of music.

Every morning when I wake and before my feet touch the floor, I express my gratitude to start my day. As part of his morning routine, Tony Robbins takes time to recall three things he’s grateful for, making sure at least one of them is something small like, He says “the wind on my face or the smile of my son.” and what makes this practice so powerful is, “When you’re grateful you can’t be fearful.”

6. Sense of touch – for letting you feel the texture of your clothes, the breeze of the wind, the hands of your loved ones.

Writer and entrepreneur Tim Ferriss, uses a five-minute journal practice in the morning to fuel him for the day. “It’s easy to become obsessed with pushing the ball forward as a Type-A personality and end up a perfectionist who is always futurefocused,” he says, “The five-minute journal is a therapeutic intervention, for me at least, because I am that person. It allows me to not only get more done during the day but to also feel better throughout the entire day, to be a happier person and to be a more content person.”

7. Sense of smell – for letting you smell scented candles, perfumes, and beautiful flowers in your garden.

8. Sense of taste – for letting you savor the sweetness of fruits, the saltiness of seawater, the sourness of pickles, the bitterness of bitter gourd, and the spiciness of chili.

I have adopted some of these gratitude practices. Just before bed at night, I write in my Gratitude journal three (sometimes four) things I am grateful for that has happened during the day.

9. Your speech – for giving you the outlet to express yourself.

Starting a gratitude practice at any time of the year is a good thing. But starting gratitude practices over this holiday season will set the tone for the upcoming year.

10. Your heart – for pumping blood to all the parts of your body every second since you were born; for giving you the ability to feel.

Before you begin your gratitude practice spend some alone time with yourself; either take a walk, a run, a bike ride, or a long hot bath. Be in a space of uninterrupted thoughts.

In your journal write down a few things you are grateful for – do this every day and at the same time. Keep in mind that expressing gratitude is one of the best ways to feel good by acknowledging the goodness that surrounds you.

11. Your lungs – for letting you breathe so you can live.

12. Your immune system – for fighting viruses that enter your body. For keeping you in the pink of your health so you can do the things you love.

Practicing small acts of gratitude can have a big impact on your health and happiness. In fact, it is precisely under crisis conditions when we have the most to gain from a grateful perspective on life. In the face of demoralization, gratitude has the power to energize; In the face of brokenness, gratitude has the power to heal; In the face of despair, gratitude has the power to bring hope. In other words, gratitude can help us cope with the difficulties of life.

13. Your hands – so you can type on your computer, flip the pages of books, and hold the hands of your loved ones.

Have a better year ahead, with a Gratitude practice.

14. Your legs – for letting you walk, run, swim, play the sports you love, and curl up in the comfort of your seat.

Christmas In Heaven I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below With tiny lights, like Heaven’s stars, reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear But the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

Hello my friends, Another extremely powerful month we are entering with many massive shifts that are happening for all of us. It is even more important than ever before to get ahead of the energy shifts.

First of all, I hope you are enjoying the exercises that I have been sharing with you this year. I’d like for you to continue the exercises from the last 2 month and to focus on your core.

Many people have been asking me about the true core and true core healing work. Our focus on oneness will continue because there no such thing as separation, no such thing as space, only connection.

Space as we see it is merely the density stuck in our physical body, making it impossible for us to see that which is vibrating at higher frequencies. I’ll try to simplify this by saying that which is very big and massive is also very small.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart.

But I am not so far away, We really aren’t apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear.

And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.

I sent you each a memory of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.

It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.

For I can’t count the blessing or love he has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.

Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

This poem was written by a 13 year old boy who died of a brain tumor that he had battled for four years. He died on December 14, 1997. He gave this to his Mom before he died.

That is where our true core comes into the discussion.

We have the entire universe and beyond in our core.

Why do people say follow your heart, because that is where our true core is at the base of our heart chakra.

So how do we change the world and create more healing, peace, love and oneness by going within. Doing deeper more powerful work by getting to our true core and releasing at our core we are able to create true miracles for ourselves and others.

The power it takes to get to our true core is immense and unbelievable in many ways.

This energy was not even available directly on this planet until 14 years ago because of our density. This work is what I am here for, we can heal anything as long as you are open to doing true core work and I will help your awakening no matter what.

Remember we can let go of thousands of years of holds and blocks in a quick session or empowerment. It does take special training but believe me it is worth it for all of us as is a true core session.

Okay now do your meditation with focus on your core, the flame at the base of the heart chakra.

Expand it outward to surround yourself with that energy of true love and oneness.

Spiritual Horoscope for December

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21) — Happy birthday Sagittarius! Mercury retrograde in your sign, which is a great time for meditation, introspection, and self-discovery.

You can see hidden ways you self-sabotage so you don’t accomplish goals. You can release old resentments and disappointments that bog you down. You can open prosperity blocks! You’ll tap into a deep source of selflove. Now you can fearlessly dream big and be able to manifest your greatest possibilities!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19) — Wow! Saturn, your ruling planet, moves into your sign for 2 1/2 years! It has a 30-year orbit, so it’s a significant time for you. Ponder your values and write them down. Focus on your integrity. Meditate on the courage to act on your values, staying centered in your personal power. Confront and release fears.

Break the habit of worry and negativity. You’ll accomplish goals, have success in career, feel self-love and have fulfilling relationships — but it all starts with knowing your center and sticking to your own truth!

That way you’ll find an inner focus so the path to be on is clear, whether your concerns are about work or other matters.

Aries (March 21 – April 19) — Mercury retrograde helps quiet your mind so you’re

centered under stress. Meditate daily, and also take deep breaths during the day as a “mini connection” with your wisdom. Saturn moving into Capricorn brings 2 1/2 years where your inner poise and external expertise create lots of work success! In relationships, you’ll feel balanced and less reactive, but still vibrant and passionate. If you feel edgy, ponder releasing your identity around fighting and struggling. Being in the flow doesn’t make you’re wimpy, it makes life easier and more fun. Observe family patterns, don’t judge them, but see how you’ve shaped yourself around those “issues”.

Observe your automatic reactions to stress.

Later, while in meditation, replay the scenario and ask yourself, “How else is it possible to respond?” Relive it in your mind being “the new you”. You’ll see quick improvements with physical issues, as well as in relationships with co-workers, romantic partners, and your children. You’ll also re-connect with your ability to have fun and thoroughly enjoy life!

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22) — Meditate on being kind to yourself. Throughout the day, observe your inner dialog. If you’re like most Virgos, you are a “mean girl” to yourself and tormented with endless critical thoughts! This habit isolates you and makes you feel unworthy of love. Create a habit of gentleness and compassion when you realize you’re hurting yourself. Don’t buy into the belief that you’re helping yourself grow by relentlessly critiquing everything you do, say, feel and think. Just be present and enjoy life.

You’ll feel “more perfect” than if you “improve yourself”!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20) — Mercury retrograde can bring up old hurts around intimacy. Instead of arguing with your partner, or stewing over the past in your mind, meditate and allow the pain and disappointment to flow up and out, without attaching to it. This is like an emotional detox — flush it out and let it go. This opens the door for more trust, bonding, and even more prosperity! As Saturn moves into Capricorn, dedicate yourself to a spiritual practice.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22) — December is a great money month! You’ll feel confident and prosperous. Mercury retrograde helps you find peace within holiday chaos. You’re able to quiet your mind more easily than normal.

When you’re around family, you can clearly see dysfunctional dynamics in yourself and others without judging or feel thrown off.

How to Read Oracle Cards: Transition

Our focus is the “Transition” card from my go-to divination deck “Vintage Wisdom”. I use this deck personally and in my How to Develop Your Intuition workshops because they are richly layered with symbolism.

me think of the New Year. She wears a crown, which could symbolize the need for personal acknowledgment and reverence. We just celebrated Halloween or Samhain and to many, that is the New Year. If this card came up in a reading it could mean it’s time to take inventory of all the year’s accomplishments. Perhaps this person does not give themselves enough credit, hence the crown. How amazing was the journey of the year?! How incredible all of the things that were so skillfully done, and the things that came together beautifully out of big messes?

A brag fest might be in order.

A sliver of a moon reflects the midway point of a lunar cycle, giving more of the feeling of being in the middle of something and making the way through to the other side, and into the future. She looks a bit shy and even hesitant to move on. The look on her face might actually feel to you like the person you are reading. Forget-menots mean the obvious but they also mean faithful love and memories, another possible symbol of a loved one that has passed or a relationship ending. This card could be a sign to count all the amazing blessings of the year and to be hopeful and excited for what is yet to come.

So much of our life, if not all of it, is scripted from the underlying energy we carry within us and around us each day. Our thoughts, our words, and our actions are powerful generators in the attraction of our life experiences. There have been many opportunities in my own life that I feel I’ve missed because I wanted them too much, or I found myself obsessing about them to the point of them metaphorically slipping through my fingers -- and I’ve wondered why. I’ve realized there is a difference between being courageous in the face of these circumstances and being forceful in trying to create them.

Courage suggests a grace, a surrendering. An openness to divine interjection. Courage offers true strength in the face of possible failure. Courage is quiet, receptive, strong. It is more in align with God’s will for me instead of my own. There is an accepting quality about courage as it insinuates perseverance.

Force has a jaggedness to it and creates an instinctual push back from the goal. The energy around it is so compact, grace and divinity have no room to create or bring opportunities for success. Anger lingers under forceful; a ready alternative to acceptance if failure comes. Constricting and overbearing, forcefulness springs from the ego.

Many times, I have thought force was courageous, pushing hard against things unknown while screaming a refusal to give up or give in. Just as many times, I have found myself still and quiet afterwards, contemplating those actions and either just shy of my goal or feeling as if my obtained goal wasn’t enough.

“Never enough” - that is the mantra of the ego.

With mindfully choosing courage I feel lighter, stronger, and more attuned to the guidance the Universe has to offer.
