president’s message Dear Premier Club Members, Whether restful or adventurous, I hope you all enjoyed a sunny summer. If you were at the Club, perhaps you took advantage of Kids Eat Free, holiday events or water sports; perhaps you simply relaxed at the beach or pool. The children have now returned to school, and the time for our snow birds to return is drawing near. It’s an exciting time, with a new season – one that is sure to keep you engaged and entertained – about to begin! Over the past year, we’ve made investments in several areas of the Main Resort, Beach Club, and Boca Country Club – and more improvements are in the works. In the Member’s Club Room, you can enjoy new carpeting, furniture and enhanced programming. Social tea now features table service and the Members-Only Happy Hour has been a hit – even in the summer. Our premier venue for celebrations and social events – the Cathedral Room – is undergoing an interior facelift. Boca Country Club received a makeover of its own, with exterior and interior paint, and will soon boast new carpeting and card tables. At the Boca Beach Club, you’ll find hundreds of new lounge chairs, new and improved boardwalks and Sea Level, an all-new, enhanced Beach Club experience. We anticipate an upcoming beach re-nourishment project, too, and will provide more news on that as we get closer. Our most exciting project right now is the renovation of the Resort Golf Course, scheduled for completion in mid-December. The course already looks better than ever! Revamped water features, classic box-shaped and Barefoot golf tees, a conveniently located putting green and a new fleet of golf carts are just some of our exciting additions. Weekly golf leagues for men and ladies, as well as demonstrations, clinics and fun couples tournaments, will be available for golf-option Members throughout the season. Every year we strive to ease access to the Resort & Club and improve communication with our Members. All Members should now have RFID decals on their vehicles, enabling quicker and more convenient access across the Resort. Boca Club Life magazine has been arriving in your mailboxes earlier, e-mail newsletters are going out weekly and Members are receiving interest-based texts with special promotions, critical announcements and event reminders. If you are not receiving these communications, please notify Member Services by text at 561-447-3939 or via email at bocaclubmember@waldorfastoria.com. An exciting new entertainment and activities program has been planned for the 2016-17 season. Based on your feedback and the undeniable popularity of our recent 3rd of July BBQ featuring the Gin Blossoms, we’ve created programming that’s sure to pique your interest. Our new lineup starts on Halloween and continues right through the holidays, culminating with everyone’s favorite New Year’s Eve event – Rock the Block! The Club has also partnered with renowned Jazziz magazine to present One Nite Stand, a new series of performances featuring world-class jazz artists. If you would like to be a part of the ongoing evolution of our social programming, consider attending a meeting of one of our Advisory Social Committees. These committees discuss ways to get even more value out of Club membership. If you have one hour a month to invest and are interested in participating or have an idea to share with one of the groups, please contact activities@waldorfastoria.com. We’re committed to making this an incredible season. We hope you will stay connected and up to date about all that is happening, so you can take advantage of everything the Resort & Club offers.
