Dear Premier Club Member, I am delighted to be back at Boca Raton Resort & Club as your president. I’ve already seen many familiar faces and visited with lots of old friends, and I’m gradually getting acquainted with Members who joined since I was last at the Resort & Club. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you in the year ahead. This is a particularly exciting time for me to rejoin the Resort & Club. We’ll be celebrating our 90th anniversary in the coming months, and we’re working on innovative programming in conjunction with the big milestone. You’ll be hearing more about our plans very soon! Meanwhile, we have plenty of terrific plans for the coming weeks and months. This month we’ll be hosting the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Ball hosted by inimitable funny lady Goldie Hawn, and next month features the 10-year anniversary of the Concours d’Elegance, hosted by vintage car enthusiast Jay Leno. We’re also kicking off a series of LobsterBash events, including performances by tribute bands and a comedy night. Looking further ahead, the March Festival of the Arts will help us usher in the spring! One small housekeeping item: in the very near future, we’ll be affixing new RFID decals to your vehicles, so please keep an eye out for e-blasts with more information and registration instructions. Again, I am thrilled to be back and looking forward to sharing lots of great experiences with our Members in the year ahead. The Resort & Club team joins me in sending you best wishes for a happy and healthy 2016.

501 East Celebrates Leadership Some of you may remember when Michael Huminski first joined the Resort & Club in 2009. He began his journey at the Beach Club, then spent the last two years as general manager of 501 East and Mulligans. Not long ago, Michael’s hard work and dedication were rewarded when he was promoted to assistant director of restaurants & bars He now works alongside Kevin Ives, director of restaurants & bars, overseeing the wonderful eateries and watering holes at the main. Megan Garcia has taken over the reins at 501 East as general manager. She brings a powerful mix of business management skills and 15+ years of experience in the hospitality industry to her new role. Previously, she supervised the prestigious Riva Restaurant located inside the five-star Harbor Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale. She also served as food and beverage outlet manager at The Meadow View Marriott Resort in Kingsport, Tenn. “I’m so looking forward to cultivating relationships with the team and especially with the Members,” she says. Entertaining Possibilities Are Special Events Manager’s Specialty Elizabeth Gomez, the new special events manager for the Resort & Club’s restaurants, discovered a passion for the hospitality industry more than seven years ago, when she landed a job as a hostess at the Conch House Marina Resort in St. Augustine. She joined our team as a convention coordinator when she was pursuing a degree in hospitality and marketing at Florida Atlantic University. Now, with graduation behind her, Elizabeth’s training and dedication have propelled her into a new role. “I’ve always loved introducing visitors to the amazing possibilities available here at the Resort & Club,” she says, “but I couldn’t be happier now that I have the opportunity to share our special brand of magic with Club Members who are looking for the kind of unique private dining and party prospects only we can offer.” If you’d like to explore private party options, she can be reached at 447-3579.

Morimoto Starts the New Year with a Member Favorite With the start of a New Year comes the highly anticipated Italian Black Truffle season at Morimoto. For a limited time, enjoy exquisitely thin slices of this seasonal delicacy atop the already delicious Carpaccio on the menu at Morimoto, made with your choice of Kobe-style tenderloin of beef, fresh Japanese octopus or a chef’s choice of fresh white fish. “This is one of our Members’ favorite appetizers,” says Morimoto Chef Takao Soejima — which just shows what good taste our Members have! As well as fresh black truffles, the Carpaccio is seasoned with a touch of fresh garlic, minced chives and fresh ginger and then dressed with Yuzu citrus and soy and finished with a hot olive oil and sesame oil mixture to bring out all the flavors. It is served warm.
