At the Burnaby-New West Ringette Association, we’ve been working hard since the start of this season to bring our community youth back together, both on and off the ice. And we are so grateful to everyone who helps make that possible — especially for this tournament! So on behalf of our association, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to: o
All the coaches, trainers and team managers who dedicated their time and energy to preparing their players for this event.
o
All the players who give it their all for every game they play.
o
All the families and friends who show their support by driving players to early and late practices, and being their team’s biggest supporters at every game.
o
All the wonderful and dedicated staff at BCSC, BLA, and QPA who always provide us with clean facilities and the support we need when we are at the arenas.
o
All the vendors who will be at the tournament this weekend and have donated prizes.
o
All our generous sponsors who have donated wonderful prizes.
o
All the BNWRA families and teams who volunteered their time to ensure the tournament runs smoothly. We asked and they responded. They donated creative gift baskets, and will run the raffle tables, organize the game sheets, and so much more.
And finally to these amazing people who went above and beyond to bring the tournament to fruition: Yvonne Cheng (BNWR’s Superstar) — Thank you for your help with nearly every subcategory in our committee. Eunice Kim, Ice Allocator and Game Schedulers – Thank you for taking on this very demanding role. Robin Perelle, Communication – Thank you for making the time while you were travelling through Europe to help me with some of the communication pieces. I greatly appreciate having another set of eyes with writing. Tricia Auton, Multi-tasker - I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to this phenomenal person. Not only is Tricia a board member, she coaches her daughter’s ringette team, she coaches our FUN 1 and 2 players, but she’s also a great resource when it comes to registration questions and legal matters. Thank you for always lending a hand. Rabinder Sandhu, Scheduling – So where do I begin? She’s not only on our board Secretary, she’s the team manager for her daughter’s team, and she also worked alongside Eunice to coordinate the game schedule. I can’t tell you how many text messages and phone calls I’ve made to this beautiful person, but she would always make time to help out. Thank you for all you do… you’re simply amazing. And finally, to all the teams that participated in our tournament, we couldn’t have held the event without you. Hope everyone had a great time and see you all next year!
